No Network Connection, help - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey y'all, so story is that I rooted my friends Optimus T. And installed a CM7 P500 rom in it, it booted but with no signal at all.
Installed kdz firmware 20 , now this gave him signal, but it doesn't have network connection (no internet) and now under phone settings it says P500 instead of P509.
Do any of y'all have any ideas of what can I do fix it?

I think you need to unlock your phone first to use custom roms.
Search this forum !!

You do NOT have to unlock your phone. You have already rooted it, which is good.
I am pretty sure your T-Mobile phone is still on old baseband. Check in settings for about phone. Software or baseband will be version 10x (the x represents a.letter). Pretty sure you need that to work on T-Mobile. If you've "upgraded" to 20x, you may have no phone signal. If you so, but no place to add apn, you need old baseband fix. Check out the jellybean discussion thread for links to it, as its been discussed recently. There's also a stick topic with a link to it in development. If I can dig it up, I'll edit my post. But,you seem smart. I'm sure you'll find it on your own.
If its a recent cm7, you may just need to flash the attachment on this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34664075
Oh, and here's the place to look. Old baseband fix is linked on the op for the rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21374465

You don't "put" hspa on it. It's already there. We need more info. You mentioned you unlocked it. What carrier are you using?
Haha, more info bro, we need more info.

whew good thing i saw this before flashing
I think this may be a solution.. haven't confirmed it yet tho.
flash whatever mb1 rom you want
download apn backup https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.APNBackupRestore&hl=en
backup your apn, install multiwindow, then restore apn?
I've read its some hex edits that need to be done to the multiwindow zip for verizon, so i'm not sure if this will work

Thanks for taking the time to post a possible fix
Most of the smali codes are the same in both ROMs but some resource IDs are slightly different (search for 0x1040***), that might be the reason why some function are not working.

Minor/Major Issue
On CR6 R2, clean install, no other mods at the time - this broke MMS. SMS worked fine but couldn't send a picture (alert was "invalid destination address"). Dirty flashed CR6 R2 over the top and that cleared MMS up so I figured I'd try again, no joy. Same issue. I also had the same problem as the others with Global Roaming data issue. Too bad, looked very, very cool..
Sorry, should have also noted I'm on Verizon -

Exact same issues here. This is the last mod I will ever need on my CR6r2 (AOSP theme 1.9), as I surprisingly found it quite useful when I was on GalaxyMOD and JellyBeans build 9.
cross my fingers and wait patiently perhaps...

I have tried flashing like 5 different modems while on CM 10.0. In the philly area (if that helps). They all seem to work GREAT for like a day or two and then start to go downhill. I know my office doesn't have great reception, but seems like once it looses signal there are a lot of times it won't pick back up until i put it in airplane mode. On I727UCLF6 right now. Also been noticing sometimes it will look like i have signal but no data goes through until i reboot. Tried to dial *#2263# or *#*#4636#*#*, first one got an error (connection problem or invalid MMI code) second one just went to att this number is invalid message. any suggestions welcome thanks!

[Q] Help. No calls. Texting & 4G works. MEID=0?

Hello,
I just received a "pre-owned" phone from Verizon.
After rooting and testing out some roms I realized I can't make calls or text anymore. Mobile network still works.
I was on a nightly build of CM and I thought it might be a bug in the build so I switched to stable build.
After that, I am now able use text messaging and mobile network, but still no phone calls. I've gone back and forth between stable and nightly and I've tried other roms too, still no calls.
After doing some research, I realized that my MEID=000000000 (more or less), and my IMEI=0.
Could that be it? If that was the case, should texting and mobile network not work?
I will try and use odin to go back to stock, but will that repair my MEID/IMEI?
Thanks,
Adrian

You didn't backup your imei by chance did you? You can manually inject your imei with qpst (Google it for a YouTube video) or follow directions in this thread to reprovision your phone. You should also follow the link on the bottom of that thread to fix your eri if you use qpst.

I'm downloading the stock odin image (takes forever) and after I flash it I'll try dialing the *2767*3855#.
If that doesn't work though, in that thread you sent me, there's a link to here:

Is this the method I should use? If so, the poster gets a little hard to understand (I can't figure out what the forbidden program is), could you elaborate?
If I could get this to work I'll make this into a sweet guide for anyone else in this position.

both of you start your journey here, all the goodies, just takes a few fixes and 3rd party apps if that's cool with you, its explained in the thread just read carefully, there is even a stock tar, unbrick.img, modem.zip, and bin files for the camera fix earlier in the thread just look back til you find what you need, hope you got an old sim card though, doesn't have to be active just as long as you have one, good luck! ROMS with newly found working fixes are in the thread, all the d2lte roms and d2vzw roms are now working except for stock camera and stock MMS but there is a camera app that fixes camera and a fix for MMS through hangouts or a 3rd party text app, other than that its smooth sailing on all ROMs, there's even a working CM12 (lollipop 5.0) ROM!!!!! No, you just need to get a CDMA SIM, a Verizon LTE 4G SIM is best, yes, I know the device is 3G, dont bother asking or wondering, just take my word for it, ALL of the LP d2vzw ROMs require SIM because they are for the Verizon S3 which is a 4G device and 4G devices require SIM for service and data, that makes us need it also. Another thing, stock MMS won't work with any other SIM than Verizon 4G SIM then dialing *228 to auto program SIM then manually edit APNs. Get a SIM and I'll set you up with what you need. Until you get a SIM just go back to stock or one of the kit kat ROMs from the first 6 months of last year and you won't need the SIM on those.

I don't know about the preview version. Everything is hush hush for now.
The team of guys I know are pretty good at what they do. Its mostly in the works upstream with the CM team. The guys I know are working as it comes from upstream. Its coming soon to the STS3 though. The team I know is already at work on it, they have it under control, I don't know about the other ROM teams though. It won't be out for beta testing for a couple of months so just be patient.
