Hello dear Members and Developers,
a week ago I thought about how to run ".exe" files on Android (because I wanted to run Minecraft on my Galaxy Tab 2).You know:Android is a daughter of Linux so why isn't it possoble to run Wine on it?
I have really no idea. But thats my question to you, dear members and developers:is someone out there who knows how to run Wine as an .apk file on a phone with ARMv6 Processor?Or is someone out there who knows how to run Wine on a Android Device
(with ARMv7)?
With greatings,Lord Asriel

Android is barely a distant cousin of Linux. All they have in common is a modified kernel.

Tltr: No not going to happen
This isn't possible, first and foremost wine is not and emulator (infact wine stands for `Wine is not a emulator` ) so in order to run .exe they have to be compiled for the same processor as in your device, this is fine on desktop/laptops because they do use the same processors, but android devices (for the most part) use ARM processors which are not the same.
Android also can not normally run Linux programs, unlike normal Linux distros its only really the Linux kernel that android shares.
You can install a Linux distro within android and then install Linux programs, but they still need to be able compiled for ARM

Check my SIG, I run a project that uses an app to help you install Linux, you just need root.

Wine on android (arm) has been in development for a fairly long time now... here
Yes very possible, but not the way you asked
To Mr. Lord Asriel
You can run Minecraft from your phone and most phones with an app like Kinoconsole or Remotr or Liquidsky. They all use vnc streaming except they also incorperate formes of contoller support like on screen mapping or bluetooth and even xbox controller emulation in Kino.
You have to put the host app on a PC that is conncted to wifi and have the programs you want to play installed on that PC.
If you would like an easy way to do the same thing but only control the PC, I suggest Teamviewer. Its good for getting your PC to turn on if you forgot before you left your house too. Also control other androids too.

This is project started to discuss about first jelly bean rom for Samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500..
As it is confirmed that galaxy ace plus will be getting jelly bean 4.1 upgrade...
This project will be started as soon as jelly bean upgrade is officially released for galaxy ace plus...
I started this thread so early to discuss about how users want that rom to be... So that I can start preparing for it from now and learn if I don't know about something...
So please everyone post your suggestions...
Also i was thinking to make a team or something for this project...
So if anyone knows any development things and wants to be part of the team then please comment below...
Even i am not a good developer so it doesn't need you to be really a great developer... All I need is that person has basic knowledge like modifying rom, editing apk files and other things too...
I don't have Linux system and don't have any experience in kernel development so we need a Kernel developer too...
If anyone wants cynogenmod and has Ubuntu than try this tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler

I am not too skilled to port or make cm10 from starch... All I can do now is modify stock rom and make it work much better than stock rom...
Sent from my GT-S7500 using xda premium
I love you bro.
1st.
If that's the case, first you should change the stock apps. (There's a list of stock apps that can be deleted without hurting your phone.
2nd.
You should add many scripts that can boost our phone to maximum speed. Like on your ROM (Ofcourse it needs init.d support).
3rd.
While learning about modding, try to learn how to port CM10. Since we'll be having Jelly Bean, there will be alot of Devs that know how to port it. Try asking them. (We also have Blackburner)
These are all suggestions, just tell me if you don't like it, I'll continue to add suggestions.
I personally like the GO Keyboard, GO Launcher, GO Locker, Quickpic (Gallery), and Handcent SMS (Messaging). (Many more though)
Sent from my GT-S7500
I love you too... LOL
Init.d support is must... About porting that I am currently learning even thou I don't have my computer...
And I was thinking of adding aroma installer so that everyone can choose between stock apps and other apps...
I can't do all alone and it seems that no one here is willing to participate...

I want to help you but I don't know anything about modding. Sorry.
The only thing I can do for the time being is gather all developers for Ace Plus.
thanks for the support
i myself tried to modify some roms with disastrous results as i pretty much was not sure of anything myself
i decided it was better to leave these type of things to experienced developers
thank you for continued support for our phones
things i would like in a custom rom for jelly bean
1 touchwiz 5.0 if you can
2 some speed enhancement tweaks
thank you :good:
Maybe it would be easier to port touchwiz5 when we get jb upgrade... I will try that...

Can the DSIXDA kitchen be used on those jelly bean roms to add some tweaks? Also, once we have the JB, it will be one thousand times easier to port Cyanogen 10 using, maybe, the galaxy nexus sources.
Enviado do meu ace plus usando atomic rom com Tapatalk 2 e SwiftKey keyboard U.U
ETA - estimated or expected time of arrival:good:
Maybe kitchen supports jb... As it supports our device in gb... Let's leave cm development to experts because I have no idea how to do that...
If anyone wants to try then search for a guide... I am sure I saw one somewhere...
All guides are for Linux system so if you anyone have Linux system i.e. Ubuntu try a tool by lithid-cm called CyanogenMod Compiler or CMC.

It would be great because our dev could IMRPOVE it even more thanks to stable CM, and not waste time to make it stable
Well since cm made for galaxy w, our devs could somehow port it to our device since it has much similarities. But Xellar said that he already started to build cm10.1

You both are somehow right. You need a device maintainer and the CM Team.
So I think arco will be the device maintainer for the galaxy w. But now the W is an official device, there needs to be a fully working 3.x kernel i would say

:good: if Galaxy W will get a fully working 3.0 Kernel, S Plus will get it too. We dont have to worry about anything. Galaxy W Got Off.Support? Hell yeah. Our devs(like ivendor and else) can do a lot with arcos sources, so there is no need for any fear that our device wont Get Android 4.2 or Android 5.0 if its out.
But the last words is to Ivendor, as he has to decide if he wants to become our official device-maintainer.

And I don't think that you could say that this is an official announcement.
Wonderful news. I'm glad for this. All we have to do is wait... ANDROID 4.2 + kernel 3.0 here we go......
I am looking for a tutorial that explains the editing/building process of a ROM within an Ubuntu environment. I have successfully compiled 4.2.2 from source in 12.04. I would like to add to this ROM other features. I was curious if there is a native way about doing this other than using the ROM kitchen. I feel like I have googled for hours and still can't find that gem of a tutorial. Does anyone have suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

There's is not much difference apart from the GPU is a Broadcomm/Quallcom on the GT-7275 and it only has a cortex a9. where as the LTE has a 1.2 krait CPU Andreo 305 GPU, and a snapdragon 400 chipset

Do you want to build or port? Building is where you build a room from source using a device tree. Porting is simply finding a room from a similar phone or tablet. If you Google you can find lots of guides on how to do so. Building will take slightly longer(maybe more) and a device tree and a computer with a distribution of Unix like Ubuntu or Mac os or Linux mint and can take more than a few hours depending on your processor and if you have an ssd
