Hi Folks, I am looking for a developer to help with some automation in my business, I have an MS Acces database which currently contains my customer details and rounds etc. I am looking to create an app which shows the operators in the streets a list of jobs for that day etc, and a job status Open/Closed, I would then like it to update the account & possibly create emails to the customers.
Though I have some database design I have not developed any App's, I would welcome a response from anyone who currently does this work.
UK based business
Is anyone interested in developing this App ? - Regards Nige

Hey guys. I have been looking for some good software for weeks now and have been unable to find one that I really like. So I figure that I might as well post up here since this is where I get all of my other information regarding my phone.
So this is what I am looking for:
I am looking for some type of CRM or Customer relationship management software for the Pocket PC. For those who dont know, this is essentially a piece of software that allows you to record customers, sales, phone calls made and received from customers, interest of customers, and personal information. It is primarily used to keep track of customers, leads and sales.
Ideally I would like some software that can be used on both regular windows as well as Pocket PC Windows. Meaning I can update or add customer information on either my laptop or my PPC and the 2 devices will synchronize and maintain the same information. However if that is not possible, something that just works on the PPC only is just fine. I really need it to be able to store customers, categorize them by where they came from I.E. who referred them, update contact information such as phone calls made and received as well as appointments set, and indicate when the customer has been sold or is no longer in the market or a hot prospect.
.
If anyone could recommend a CRM software for the pocket pc that is primarily sales based, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need to get something as the old pen and pad mentality is not quite as efficient as I would like and I figure its time to finally step into the new millennium with my sales tracking.
Thanks a lot for all of the help guys! Btw, I dont mind paying for good software, I just need it to work well. Something that is easy to use and makes it easy to update customer information especially including calls made to them and the status of their sales deal. Thx.

Anyone got any ideas on this one?

It'd be pretty rudementry, but might work. I know with the task manager, you can set a task, and then throw notes into it. You can then also set custom priority levels. Might be able to use this to your advantage. Use the priority levels to rank the lead (cold, warm, hot, wtf why isn't this closed yet, etc etc), notes for who refered them, and once you close the deal, you can check it off your list as completed.
Just my $.02.
Edit: Goes to show what happens when you leap before you look. You CAN set priorty levels to low, normal, and high, and then can set custom categories to help you sort them by. Good luck!
Thanks for the help, however I tried this initially and it doesnt work well enough for me. It works in a rudimentary manner, but I need more control and information managment than that. Thanks tho!
Anyone else got any ideas?

My company uses this piece of software; http://www.salesmanager.nl/nl/salesmanagermobile.htm
Its in Dutch and I dont know if there's an English version..
I found this (outdated) article about "Microsoft CRM Mobile"; http://www.sonomapartners.com/articles/microsoft-crm-mobile12.aspx
And this is a download link "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile"; http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...66-7EC8-4AFE-BBFA-91E7210C55C4&displaylang=en
You do need the MS Dynamics package to make it work tho..
You can also look for "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Small Business Edition"..
You can get a demo which is floating around Microsoft's website.

Has to be a small or smallish development shop (no multinationals please)
Flexible and willing to discuss different development options (Phonegap, Native, HTML 5 etc)
Have experience with developing for IOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android (Tablets and Phones)
So that being said I am looking for suggestions or company names that might fit the bill.

Hello!
My name is Grega and I am a student at University of Ljubljana Slovenia.
I am working on a research for my BSC thesis where I want to compare different frameworks for developing mobile applications
(i.e. Ionic, Xamarin, JQuery Mobile, ...).
To complete my thesis I require answers from actual developers who use mobile frameworks for , therefore I kindly ask you to answer to my survey, regarding some of the properties of frameworks.

This survey is anonymous and will be used exclusively for academic purposes. All of the results will be presented only in an aggregated form.
If you are interested in the results of the survey, then I will be happy to send you the results.

I appologize if this is a dumb question, but I am new to app development, altough some experienced in php/html.
I want to create an app where user fills in forms. The app development is easy to find info about, but i also want a back end plattform where I read the submitted forms and organize users.
So, my question. Is there a sort of ready wordpress like plattform to customize, or should this be built from scratch? If so, which platform is the best?
One note I should add about Buddy (full disclosure: I work there) is that we maintain independent instances of the platform in different locations around the world. If you need to host your backend in Europe (for response time or data sovereignty reasons, for example), you can choose your app backend to be sandboxed in the EU. Likewise the US and likewise China (with Brazil, Singapore and Australia coming soon).
he best way to develop mobile apps is to use REST services. So now you can choose any thing.
Any language that can used for server side programming can be used.
Now it is up to you choose the language.
If you familiar with JavaScript then you can try nodejs. You can make small app server in it.
But if your server software design is very complex (containing threads and synchronisation) then java can be handy.
But there is no restriction of language.
Firebase should be also a way to go for this.
The best android back end services include, Parse, Kumulos, Kinvey, backendless, QuickBlox.
Concerning the forms where users can fill up information, would something like help out?

On Apple's platform you might need an iPhone developer - it is quite possible to create and publish an iPhone app using your form.
I did take the help of mobile apps development service in toronto to know the process which is described here: http://support.brightcove.com/en/app-cloud/docs/step-step-guide-publishing-apple-app-store-using-mac
Thanks Carol for sharing such a wonderful article.

I have heard good things about Hasura (Not affiliated in anyway). And I think parse - mentioned above - is no longer available.
I'm wondering why nobody mentioned Google CLoud or AWS. They are most mobile friendly for a good price
Hi, if you will decide to build from scratch, there are different options/frameworks. But If you use kotlin you should look to Ktor.
Backend options for an Android app
Here, The list of good backend options for an Android app:
1. Parse.
2. Back4app.
3. Firebase.

Hello everyone!
I am Nakul and I am a product manager at Truecaller.
My team & I recently launched a new app called Guardians which is focused on personal safety.
The basic idea is to offer a simple & seamless way of sharing location with your trusted contacts - but it's more that that.
We are a seeing a good traction and have already seen 250,000 users on the app.
Building a location sharing app on Android has been a big challenge given the nuances of different OEMs. Especially when it comes to sharing location in the background / terminated states.
Would love to have you guys check the app out and give your feedback on the same.
Link to the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller.guardians
Have you seen any other similar apps or have specific feedback when it comes to location sharing on Android? Would like to learn more on that.
Cheers.
