I couldnt find a dedicate thread for Vodafone Smart tab 2. So I guess I ll post this here maybe will help some people.
This tablet is basicaly a Lenovo A2107 (A2107A_A404_010_002_120913_VODA)
- with single sim slot ( call feature restricted - only data enabled) and 4gb storage (1.8 gb user available)
For root - you can use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044496
User isyrider managed to install recovery and pemergency rom unlocking the calling feature also.
I was looking for a way to swap the internal storage with the sd card so I could get more space if posible without installing a custom rom to avoid incompatibility issues that could appear. Directory bind can help with big game files like gameloft but those 2 gb are still not too much . I was unable to install N.O.V.A 3 because it requires 1.81 gb free on sd.
Anyway long story short . To swap internal memory with SD card you need to have root and replace your VOLD.FSTAB file from system/etc with the one I attached.
You need to have root .
Use any root explorer.
Unzip attachment
Rename your VOLD.FSTAB to VOLD.FSTAB.BAK
Copy my VOLD.FSTAB to system/etc
Reboot.
Check in settings, You will see your sd card listed as internal memory.
This combined with link2sd app will give you plenty of space to install anything .
Hope this helps .
Hi icrazy, I've tried this procedure but unfortunately, I wasn't able to copy your 'vold.fstab' to the directory 'system/etc'. I've rooted my unit before I did this. Now the unit cannot detect SD card. I cannot rename/copy/move any file on this directory. please help... How to restore it, Thank you in advance
Hello, I don't understand what happen. If you were not able to copy my vold.fstab what did you change ? I ask this because you must have done something if now is not working.
Anyway it looks like is a problem with your file explorer , make sure it has read /write rights for system files.
Can you please share some light on isyrider? what is that? where can we find it? Google search didn't seem to help me with this
Is there any way in unlocking the phone feature without installing a different ROM? The last time i did that, with another lenovo tablet, i lost my 3g capabilities , and honestly i don't want to repeat that thing allover again.
Thank you icrazy, working perfectly
I have now 2x Vodafone Smart Tab II 7" with 4 GB and 8 GB storage on internal memory
Hi i managed to use the vold.fstab and replace the internal memory with the sdcard but my problem wasnt solved because the tablet also has another partition 503mb of internal storage and when i install any app will install the apps data on that internal storage even if i have sdcard or internal memory as default write disk so after a couple of apps i have the out of space issue because the internal storage is full is there any way to swap the internal storage 503mb ( not the internal memory 1.85gb) with the internal memory or even with the sdcard this is really stupid why have only 503mb of internal storage if the apps save keep saving data on that partition
Regards

hi
I have a bricked i9003 (recovery and download mode working) and i am attempting to swap internal mem with external card. I am trying this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832084.
i was not able to get the make_ext4 file work for me in ADB so i used minitool partition wiz in win7 and created a FAT32 and EXT4 partition 4gb and 3 gb respectively.
here is the next step
Write a script, say 00remnt similar to the attached sample file which currently I am using (If you do not follow the script, better don't proceed. Else check if things are fine for your current base ROM settings)

I have no idea what to do, i mean how am i suppose to write a script? its my 4th day fighting with this phone.
Will really appreciate any help.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S I9003. The internal SD card has become a read only volatile memory. That is, I can read from it and write into it but once I restart the phone (or unmount and remount the SD card) all the changes I made on it will not be reflected. The service center guys say they have to change the motherboard.
I have the exact same problem as this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881101 , however he has a Galaxy I9000.
The solution he suggests is to make the phone think the external SD card is an internal SD card and then the phone functions as before.
I tried following his process but modifying it to suit the I9003, however I was hamstrung by my extreme noobness.
I do understand that what I have to do is install "Mount /system (rw / ro)" and the "Script Manager" but on any ROM I install I cannot install anything from the Play Store (either the play store doesn't function or the app doesn't install).
Anyone have any ideas?
Also, as an aside any links to basic information about rooting would be useful. That is, when should I root the phone? After I install the firmware? Flashing deletes earlier rooting? Any basic info would help loads!
Thanks!
if the problem is bcs of ur internal sd card u can follow the steps mentioned in this thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832084
but note that the above method is hardware oriented so little mistake during the process may result in complete dead of ur fone..
Abt root:
Rooting is simple in i9003..
here is the universal root. u can flash it on any gb rom using odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056
after rooting if u flash any official rom (say kpu, kpq,lf2)the phone will be unrooted..
if u want to swap ur sd card here is a thread(GB):

Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app
Hello, i am using SGS-3 (GT-i9300) with andorid 4.3 and 32gb memory card class 10, i read all the themes for how to do this bur it just not work. I read and make all from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234 step by step but no work.
I have rooted room
The room have init.d built in
I am using recovery Philz
I download and flash this file extsd2internalsd_fat32_gs3_8.zip
Restart and nothing hapends with the memory change
btw Samasung dont use fat32 he use generic hierarchical i try to formattit to fat32 but when the conecttion is from the phone there is no option for this, soo i dismount sd--card formatted it on fat32 directly without phone then put her back in phone and it show same: generic hierarchical format even she is not formatted after the mount
I cant find nowhere information how to be done for 4.3. Anything i found is old 3-monts and up. Can someone help me with fresh information and links ? :crying:
i lost my mnt/sdcard/<files> i delete them oh what a mistake!
but they were useless .
they story was began from 1 day i decided format my internal sd card then i did it from >setting/sd car and phone storage/format internal storage.
at this time i had 2.2 froyo . i tried flash 2.3.6 GB ,scan sd card for viruses , format ex sdcard.
but when i did the last thing (format ex sd card from>setting/sd card and phone storage/fromat ex sd )i lost my ex sd card too (must mention it i did format 3 time internal sd card and 5 time ex sd card again and again cuz i had sd card removed unexpectedly issue and somewhere said it happen by virus (i guess true cuz i downloaded some app recently and after that the sd card removed unexpectedly was occur)but those formats clear all thing. phone doesnt recognize both sd cards even .
now i live with a 4 gb ex sd card and unavailable int/ex sd card. (yea its unavalable but when i put it off without 4 gb ex sd the phone wont boot up)
in my phone i just see system root (no sd card no internal memory) .
the one thing i am thinkin about that is .maybe should i have this directory files backup mnt/sdcard/<files> .maybe if i copy & paste those files again my sd card come back again .maybe .cuz i have no doubt it mnt/sdcard/files wont change after flash official rom.and i cant flash a custom rom jelly bean (i hear that directory is /sdcardo )till phone cant recognize ex sd card.
i have no other idea.
so plz upload these files mnt/sdcard/<files>

mount /sdcard>did not happened).
