Battery/back covers? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Does anyone know of anywhere to buy battery/back covers for our phones besides the factory white/black?
I'm not looking for a case, I don't want nor care for a case, I like to feel and see my phone, but I have not been able to find any battery/back covers. I'd love to get a carbon fiber battery/back cover and have the look of like the razor. I think it looks fantastic.
Only places I've tried or know to search on is eBay or Amazon.

I found these but they are for the i9100, not sure if it fits our phone. I only saw white/black specifically for our phone.

I saw an aluminum one on Amazon, I have yet to see a carbon fiber one for the Skyrocket though.

The the i9100 ones won't work, the camera opening is completely different. Those are like a square, the skyrocket is a vertical rectangle shape. Thanks for the idea though.

Have you thought about a skin instead of a whole new battery door?
There is a carbon fiber one here: http://www.skinomi.com/sk9778-samsung-galaxy-s2-skyrocket-carbon-fiber-skin-protector.html

Brad, you freaking rock! That is a great alternative. And achieves what I desire. Thank you sir

No prob :good:
If you get it.. come back and bump this thread to let ppl know how it works. Not like our accessories thread is poppin' anyways.
Skinomi isn't the only option, albeit they are a good one.. I remember seeing more, i'll just have to take a bit more time & look.
A couple more:
http://www.bodyguardz.com/armor-carbon-fiber-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-skyrocket.html
I know people that swear by ghost-armor:
http://www.ghost-armor.com/Samsung/718.html (price is a little higher.. but more options -- like gunmetal)

Which of those brands would you recommend?
As far as color I'm kind of digging the red carbon fiber. Black would look much cleaner though.

I've only ever used the clear skins.. Tried a bodyguardz and a skinomi. They were both about the same.. Mind you, this was for the clear skins.
The thickness/feel/design for the skins your looking for may be different.
With skins, you need to take care of them.. Its sooooo easy to have a corner lift when putting it in your pocket and lint gets stuck behind it.
Check out the warranty/return info.. then try them out. If they have a good return policy, you could simply get another, or get your $ back if you dont like it.
If you go that route, make sure not to discard or lose any pieces because they will want all of them back if you return or trade it in.
Good Luck!

I've got a clear ghost-armor full body on my sr and love it but when I was at the kiosk the kid working it had the black carbon fiber on his and it looked pretty nice. I use a case as well most of the time and the carbon fiber is a little thicker so couldn't use it on mine but I did like it. They also had 1 in the kiosk that had white and black carbon fiber and that looked pretty nice too... Don't know about skinomi or the other brand so can't really say anything about them but ghost armor is a pretty good brand and if there's any problems with the skin they'll replace for free...

$10.
There is a matte or gloss choice.
You won't be able to feel the design, but it looks great. They Have a bunch of skins.

Hey guys thanks for all your links and effort to help, I cannot for the life of me decide on which company to buy from. Some one just pick for me already! Lol

I've also used Phantom Skinz on my T-Mobile G2 in Carbon Fiber, loved it!
http://phantomskinz.com/ Check them out as well

I just put this one on a few days ago, and really like it
http://www.shopandroid.com/bodyguardz-armor-carbon-fiber/4AA9575.htm
It feels thicker than a typical film. When you put it on, you will definitely notice it's there, as the film is alittle thick (which i think is a good thing) and has a rugged texture. Once all the pieces are on, it almost feels like you have a super thin case. Installation wasn't too difficult, and it even came w/ a screen protector (though I haven't put that one on yet since I already have one).

For those of you who like the grip of a "skin" but a little bit of hard case too
I just picked two of these up on Ebay for $8.99 shipped. The only way I can describe them is a silicone skin/hard case hybrid.
It's basically a silicone case with a hard cover that holds the silicone case on a bit better plus gives a little bit o' hard cover type protection. Every silicone case i've had in the past liked to slip off pretty easily - this doesn't feel like it's going anywhere anytime soon!
The ones I got were the lime green and carbon fiber variants, but they can be also had in pink, blue or black. I thought the lime green with black screamed Android!
If nothing else, they are definitely unique!
Ebay seller's name is "moderntechs" . Search with keywords on Ebay "Nexus Hard Silicone" and you'll pull them right up!
wow that's pretty awesome. I know there was a company that made something similar for iPhones, and some people here were emailing them to petition for a N1 model. I have to say this probably does exactly the same thing for much, much cheaper.
Nice find!
EDIT: does this case make your phone really hot when there is heavy data usage?
I think I worded that poorly.. $8.99 EACH shipped, but still, not a bad deal.
do you have an invisible skin or best skin ever? I have a best skin ever and have found that a couple(admittedly cheap) hard snap on cases I've purchased wouldn't close completely due to this skin, but it sounds like these are a bit different?
I have no additional skin but I have no doubts this would fit with one of those.
I believe it's a knock-off for Casemate tough hybrid
doesn't look the same but idea is identical

that'd be nice. I look forward to it
how fast does this guy ship?
just bought one myself.
I ordered both of mine on a Monday and they arrived on Friday. That's about normal for first class mail between California and Florida though.
I say invest in a good case. Get Seidio Innocase II. Feels very good in the hand. All worth the money.
I got my case on Monday. I can do a video review as well if anyone likes..
Quick take: It has a real solid feel, looks pretty cool, and even my fashion conscious girlfriend agrees. There were a few *small* nitpicks with the fit that I had that are hard to explain in typing, but it was definitely worth the 8 bucks. Again, it feels considerably solid and I like that it works with a bestskinever where a traditional hard case does not.
Deal breaker: It's so solid, that's kind of a pain to take off of the phone. I have a desktop dock that I use every night and live with the fact that I just have to remove the standard gelli type soft cases, which is easy to do. So, for that reason I probably won't be using it much, but if I didn't use a dock, I'd use this case 24/7
I have to agree 100% - very solid, especially for the price!
I looked at the MyBat website and I see that they make similar cases for other phones, so I've been sending any admirers looking to see if they can find one for their phones.
I came across a bunch of other models for other phones on Amazon by searching for MyBat and Hybrid.
I didn't get around to making a video review, but damn this case is nice. Very solid, and no obnoxious logos *cough* Case Mate *cough*
Well worth the money, great fit. Only issue I had was with my screen protector, I didn't have it applied perfectly center, so the edge of the case would cause the screen protector to lift and bubble. I have since reapplied a new one, and all is golden!

Same thoughts exactly. Definitely worth the money, does the same job that a 30 dollar case does, at 8 bucks.

Cheap case for G2

So I need help deciding on a case for my G2. I've seen many, but not in person. I'd like it to be cheaper end as well. I've looked at Otterbox's they seem sweet, but just not for me. I also wanted to get your guy opinions on this because I would like it to be as thin as possible when on my G2. Preferably Black or Clear. But if there is one that is like Carbon fiber feeling, Like Chromatics, I'd love to see it.
Please recommend one
There is plenty of info and pics you are looking for in this section of this forum. You just have to kinda search for it heh.
I personally have tried this Resin dark transparant and normal transparant
http://img.cbcdn.net/products/113117/111842.jpg
http://img.cbcdn.net/products/113126/adapt-resin-case-transparant-h.jpg
And altho they are thin and goodlooking it's not what I was looking for.
I also don't really like the fact that it clips around your phone. You can see it on the second picture. It is a small clip that holds the case to the phone parts. And you wouldnt really notice the tiny small gap between the top and keyboard part of the phone but it does and to me it just doesnt feel fine. It annoys me
What I personally am going for is the chromatics carbon fiber skin and a leather case. The carbon skin is just for style and protects it from scratches and the leather case is for overall protection (I hope).
Good luck with your choice! If my choice was to be a hard case I would definately pick the Otterbox. It just looks awesome and is known for good protection. Getting a cheap case is nice but also think about your phone. If u have to pay a little more for better protection, why not right. Longterm wise it's just better imo.
I personally ordered the purple case from the ebay seller "hi-boao", if you go to their shop and search HTC Desire Z you can find their cases. (Sorry just joined, can't post links ^-^;; )
I haven't received it yet, so I can't tell you how good they are, but I like the look of the cases, they're cheap, and come with a screen protector.
Goodluck finding one to your liking, I suggest looking around ebay, there's quite a few on there on the lower price range
Have the same kind of case for my G2 but clear smoke. Gives it a nice tint. Only cost $3.27
Phone: T-Mobile G2/Vision Rooted/GFree'd
Rom: Latest Cyanogen
Recovery: CWM waiting for Amon_RA
Well the resin looks ok. The stuff you described drives me away from it, as you stated xD I have been active around the accessories forum lately. And I just didn't see any cases I thought fit my requirements. The otterbox just seems a tad bit bulky and 35$ sum dollars is a lot to pay for a case. I'll probably scramble around some more. I mean chromatics is sweet... I just wish it was a case. Does otterbox or anycompany make cases that have that carbon fiber feek?

Well, i have seen some carbon fiber cases on ebay, for desire z. Cant find them right now..ill try it another time today.
Did you look at the case in the "Nice inexpensive G2 case" thread? It's black, fairly thin, and has a rubberized feel to it. Plus, it's only a couple of bucks so not a big loss if you end up not liking it...
I googled it real quick and found some hits here for carbon cases.
http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Carbon-Fiber-T-Mobile-G2-Horizontal-Case/5483281/product.html
http://www.wirelessground.com/t-mobile-g2-case-carbon-fiber.html
http://www.handhelditems.com/tmobile-graphic-case-carbon-fiber-p-152754.html
I know there are cheaper ones on ebay. It's just that I dont like searching stuff on ebay hehe.
Yeah I did check the cheap case thread too. Didn't look to get my taste. The wirelessplayground case looks pretty sweet. I'm not a fan of leather so that was going to work out. I wish the third on was a different carbon fiber though I think I may go with the clear kickstand case I saw. Is that thin?

My case recommendation

I just reviewed 3 Sensation 4G cases on my website. This is the one I liked best
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-SENSATION-SKIN-CASE-QUBITS-BRANDED/dp/B005A2UR4W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315591998&sr=8-1
The first and best case is the gel skin solid black made by Quibits. It is a black case that attempts to keep the Sensation’s style by having a solid black stripe in the middle. It feels great in my hands with a solid feel that will not slip from anyone’s fingers. The case also covers a bit of the front for when you drop your phone face first. It is a made of flexible plastic, called TPU, but when put on the android smartphone it becomes quite solid. The included microfiber cloth is a bit cheap but for 7 bucks this case is a steal.
I hope that helps! For those who want to check out my article

Nice reviews. These really help people that are like me and are totally anal about buying stuff and want to make sure they are getting a good product. I already have the Yoobao TPU case shipping on its way right now, but if I don't like it I'll definitely give the Qubits case a try since most people seem to like it.

I have the Yoobao one and I am actually not using it lol. It's ok, adds a bit more bulk to my liking but looks nice. I have the white/clear one.
+1. I own this case too, and it's great. Barely adds any additional girth to the phone and is easy to take off and put on. Great look and feel.
You cant really go wrong with that case. Its fantastic. Im currently using it right now.

Case-Mate Popcap Case, Awesome!

Just want everyone to know, I received the Case-Mate Popcap case in white yesterday for my Skyrocket and I gotta admit, it is one of the best quality cases I ever used, better than all the Seido ones I previously had on my iPhones. I was real surprised on how nice it looked and its high-quality feel since I ordered it from ATT’s website and it didn’t provide much detail, so I was pleasantly surprised by it. Just to let everyone know, it has rubber coatings that cover the volume and power buttons, so it makes pressing them easy, and it also has rubber grips on the side to make your Skyrocket easy and comfortable to hold. I got the white back with gray rubber sides and it looks real nice, I think they got other colors, but the white one gives it a nice look.
Overall, just an awesome case. I searched online online and was able to get a coupon code for 25% off on ATT accessories.
got any pics you could snag of the case alone , inside and out, and then with it on the phone. AT&T is the only spot where you can get these bad boys and they have a pretty teribble 1 picture example so its hard to tell what your getting into.
Thanks
JD

I wish it had a kickstand the Case-Mate Pop for the OGSGS2 has a kickstand. It would make more sense to have one for this phone, seeing how it has a bigger screen and all...
Damn, i didnt know the sgii had a kickstand, that wouldve been real cool
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
Totally agree. I picked one of these up at the AT&T store literally about an hour ago, and it's one of the best cases I've used for any phone, period. It's rubberized on the inside so it looks like it could absorb some shock if you dropped it, and the grips on the sides make it easy to hold without it gripping in your pants pocket.
agreed, had the otterbox rubber one while i was waiting for this one and finally got it yesterday and love it. The rubber on the inside and the textured sides are great for grip but it can still go into any pocket no problem. Price is a little high but you get some good stuff.
I loved the casemate pop for the og s2. Im now waiting for the kickstand version and better colors for the skyrocket. Bought a creotech sbg neo in the meantime.
ya i still find it odd that AT&T gets these exclusive cases that the manufactuers don't even put on their website. if you even try to find any info on the case mates for the skyrocket only place you can go is the AT&T website.
Ill tell ya this much.. They gave me the White Casemate and a Red version to demo with my Skyrocket. Its the same design that they used for the OGSG2 but without the kickstand..
Which is a very similar to the Speck Hardcandy cases.
Very high quality case.. although i prefer a barely there type case.. So im sure i wont use it for too long.
Some pics please.

but, I can't post pics until 8 posts.. oh well..
Pics please.
would you be able to upload them somewhere and post a link here?
for those that are looking I have the sky rocket now with the POP case it is hands down the best with no bulk im coming from the Infuse with the same POP case they are identical 100% its the best i could find hope this helps check the link http://www.case-mate.com/Samsung-Infuse-4G-Cases/Case-Mate-Samsung-Infuse-4G-Pop-Cases.asp

I really like this case, but it doesn't seem to hold up pretty well. The rubber on the edges is going bad after only 3 days of putting it and taking it out of my pocket. I'll exchange it and see if another one does the same thing. Really too bad cause I don't like anything else.

This case is going back to AT&T this afternoon. The rubber is starting to rub off around the corners after a week or so of being in my pocket. Some pics with the case on. Seems solid but I'm going to go with a barely there look instead of the Candy shell type case.

Agreed, I bought this Casemate as well. It does have a high quality build to it, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it in lieu of the Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case I bought from Amazon. It arrives tomorrow and I'll try to remember to post my thoughts.

Great case AMZER Crusta!

Hi folks,
Just wanted to share my experience with this new case that I got last week, it's called Crusta, made by Amzer, I have used Amzer products in the past, but this case is something very different from their regular stuff I have used in the past.
Since, I have replaced 2 screens on my S5 in last 4 months, I really wanted to get something which protects the device, don't want to spend more money on repairs, initially thought of going ahead with OtterBox but I saw an ad on Facebook for Crusta. Having used Amzer in past, I ordered it (even got 25% off part of their promotion!)
Really loving the case, it is a bit on the bulky side, but not as much as an otter box, it is right mix of protection and style, they claim it is 6 feet drop proof, it did fall out of my pocket 2-3 times and no visible damage. The thing i really like about this case is that it came with a very nice and tough glass screen protector and a belt clip. Really neat bundle. The back of the case is very nice and stylish with clear backing. Only wished this case was waterproof, but for $45 its a great buy, I got yellow and black combo, but really good color options, lots of them.
If you are looking to get an otterbox, i would suggest you give this a try and save some money!
Have a look here - www.amzer.com/crusta
I will be posting pictures after I manage to get some decent pictures from my second phone

I've been looking for a case/holster combination and just came across this one. I had previously ordered the Seidio Dilex and was not happy with it mainly because it is so slick. The Seidio adds quite a bit of bulk also but I think I'd be ok with that if it just wasn't so slippery. Can you tell me a little about the holster? I need something that holds the phone safely. I prefer holsters that rachet and need a little force to spin around. What do you think about this one?
How'd you get 25% off? I'm interested in possibly ordering one.

So I also have the Seidio Dilex and I ordered a Crusta just to see what the differences were. Here's what I noticed aside from what the OP stated:
-The belt clip, where it attaches to the belt, has a lot tension so it grabs tightly
-It is a U-Clip on the clip, but instead of a solid piece it is two "teeth" that wrap underneath the belt
-Phone case seems to fit loosely when the screen is facing out/clips in very tightly with screen facing inward (I prefer screen facing in)**
-The rotating clip looks like a gear assembly. When you turn it, it settles into the grooves and won't spin so it is omni-directional
-Online photos looks like the camera would be touching if laid on its back. The outer edge of the case keeps it from touching so no worries there
-Heart rate sensor is easily accessed and works well. Fingerprint scanner will work, but you will have to be accurate since the rubber has no give
-The Amzer is thicker overall than the Seidio Dilex and probably the exact same width as the Seidio would be if the kickstand went all the way up
**Might just be my case, OP would have to chime in
My overall so far is that I like it, but I want to test out the belt holster more before I wholeheartedly recommend it. The case is good and I love the tempered glass screen protector that came with it. The rubber is not slick at all and has a fake stitching look around the front face for aesthetics I suppose? Also, with this case on it barely fits in my Nathan's runners belt. Granted it is the smallest runner's belt, but with the grippy case rubber around it I won't be able to easily take it in and out to change songs or answer calls after I get it in there.
I'd like to post some pictures, but I need some suggestions of the best place to upload them for posting here? I just wondered what others would use and if you would like any specific pictures I am happy to oblige. I'll do a breakdown and couple of size comparison shots with the Dilex.
Edit: I personally won't be using the fingerprint scanner because as I found out, it you register a fingerprint while the case is on you should be able to unlock it. If you register it with the case off and put the case on, it most likely won't accept the scan. My experience was scanning in a fingerprint with the case on and took the case off to take pictures and it wouldn't take my fingerprint at that depth. If you are never going to take the case off this may work for you. However if you have pre-registered fingerprints and you put the case on you may lock yourself out. Just my experience.

I would suggest this case for sure, though I don't buckle the phone to my waist much, but the holster is really nice and high quality, the clip for rotation is also very smooth but at the same time not 'loose'. The video on their site says to put the phone face in for best results, but even face out is ok, the holster really holds the phone in really well.
My past experience with a seidio case for my S4 wasn't that great either, they tear up after some time and the support team is really not upto the mark. This case is not exactly thin, but it's a lot less than Otterbox, also this case has very very good grip on the TPR ring they have provided, so it won't be slippery like Seidio for sure.

I ordered during the independence day sale, i think they have back to school sale right now, which i'm going to use to order a case for my friend's iPhone 5s for which they have the crusta now. Try code BACK2SCHOOL - might work.
I will try to post some pictures today.
Regarding the Amzer Crusta!!!!
OMG that case is beautiful. Just looked online. That is absolutely a find. Called then and long to order.
Thank you!

I made an Imgur album with 18 pictures of the case. I added captions to a few of them to make more sense of what you're looking at. I hope this helps anyone looking to purchase this and if you have questions, just ask.
