Hi,today I installed the ZAGG front and back protector a the mall....I had it on my galaxy nexus too.I just wont to inform everybody who is considering this screen protector....compared it to to one on the galaxy nexus it has way less of that "orange peel" effect and it is not so much "gripy" than the one on the galaxy nexus that I installed almost a year agoo.So they must changed something on the protetctor.Overall Im very satisfied with this one and I would recommend it.
Thanks! Glad to see they've gotten better. I just don't like how expensive they are so I opted for a different brand.
But I am curious about that ZAGG HD.

But now I saw the stupid guy who installed it covered the speaker a lil bit soo im bringin it tomorrow back for a fix....do they use a new one or just take of this one and fix it??
I've never liked the orange peel texture you get from zaggs

You may think that they're more expensive but if you take into consideration the lifetime warranty I find them worth the price. I've only had to pay for 1 screen protector on all of my devices. Whenever they start peeling off because of the case I have or any little issue, I just get it replaced for free (you can take it to the mall and they'll do it also but i believe they charge) As the OP has mentioned, the orange peel look isn't as prominent as it used to be. It reminds me of my older devices with the original Gorilla Glass, its there if you look for it but if you're just using your phone its nearly impossible to see.
Are the Zaggs case friendly or will they pull band bubble up on the corners if I have a case? Because otherwise I love these and will get one asap if they play nicely with cases

No, they're not. They always tended to peel off on cases when I used to use them.
XO Skins and Bestskinsever has case fit ones though.

I have it on my nexus too. Not liking it much. Think it's too "frictiony" IMO. I'm still holding out hope that the HD version will come out. I had that on iPhone 5 and evo 4g lte thought it was amazing. Very smooth and clear.

I installed a HD on a friends iPhone 5... it's pretty awesome, much thinner and feels like a sheet of glass, still have the great protection though, should be how Zaggs come as standard tbh!
They only work with the OEM bumper
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
The ZAGG screen protector has 2 variants: 1 for no case, and the other is case friendly. The case friendly ones are cut more to allow room for case sides, so they will not push up against the sides of the screen protector. IF you got the wrong one, just ask for a replacement.
The greatest thing about the ZAGG lifetime warranty is that even if you ordered the original version and they later release a HD version for your device, you can simply ask for a replacement and get the HD if that is the one you want.
Easy Peasy.

Just wondering if you use one or not on the GS3. My first GS3 didn't have one on it, and it magically gained 3 large scratches in the screen (always was left in a pocket alone, nothing else). I had one on my 2nd GS3, but I am now on my 3rd (2nd one had dead pixels) and wondering if I should just rough it out without one, or get one again.
Also if you got one, where from, and how do you like it?
Thanks
I got one from my bro so i dont know what brand it is. But i can tell you it came in a pack of like 3 and it sucks. Rainbow affect ruins the screens potential. Look like its kinda snowy and the feel isnt nice

I'm using the SGP Ultra-Nano, and its awesome, comes with 3 in the package, I've used 1 so far, it does have light scratches on it now though, cost about $12 on amazon.
None here. A month in so far without issue *knock on wood*

i had one on for a bit, took it off though.
This is the best one by far although the SGP is very good also:

After looking at this, I think I will buy some. Thanks for the recommendation!
Screen protectors are more trouble than their worth in almost all cases. If you manage to get it on without putting absolutely hideous bubbles on the screen, then you'll be left with something that just makes the screen "rainbowy" and terrible looking. Second skin doesn't do this but then it makes the screen rubbery and grippy feeling, not smooth like it should be. Protectors also seem to enhance fingerprints making them highly visible. Scratches? I wouldn't worry too much about that with gorilla glass 2 - http://youtu.be/wT8xI4PEU8c

Well this guy's doing some ridiculous stuff and no problems. Just sayin. Minor scratches are to be expected from anything. Screen protectors to me are annoying and take away from the experience of the device.

I've used the SGP Ultra Nanos and don't like them. Within a month quite a lot had peeled away from the phone. I think this is going to be an issue with all thin film protectors that the industry seems to prefer with this model (slightly curved display surface).
I purchased an XGear Spectre and really like it. It's a tempered glass surface. Very easy to mount and hasn't peeled or scratched despite subjecting it to the same rigors as my previous SGP Ultra Nano. Nor do I expect it to peel in the future because it's pretty think (0.4 mm) and rigid. Apparently it's think enough that it doesn't fit all cases (I don't use a case). The field of view is essentially unaffected and the glass has excellent optics. At $35 with shipping, it's definitely more of than investment than thin film protectors, but I consider it a good value given the advantages.
I got the ones from samsung at the verizion store when i got my phone (the first day they had them or second)
The dude put on the first one for me and still looks great barley tell its there and its custom fit to phone
Price tag is 14 bucks but he gave it to me and it did go on very nicely no bubbles or discoloring
I don't use one, I'm just careful not to put anything in the same pocket that could scratch it
Same I use the one from the Verizon store 12 bucks, it didn't effect the viewing, it's a dry install and almost no bubbles when done, and you get 3.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I put on 20 of the verizon ones everyday. Done correctly there are no bubbles, no lint and hold up well. Seeing all the hideous home jobs applications, the glossy texture of zags and the anti glare versions I can see why they get a bad rap.
I wouldn't go without one.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
yeah, i've got a plain clear verizon one on mine.....actually it was the Cellet Screen Guard..just took it from my store. i put a million on a day, too, so i'm really good at it. i never ever get bubbles or dust. just gotta know how to do it!
also, you guys getting the grainy and rainbow effects, it's because you're using anti-glare protectors. they suck. the clear ones are better.

It's how you apply it. It has to be a dust free place. Never experienced having a speck of dust on between with different brands of skins on a screen and I also make sure to squeegee out the liquid thoroughly
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Honestly I don't see much difference between these, BSE, Invisibleshield etc. But I usually go with Ghost Armor because they have a stand at mall near me that does the installation and replacement themselves.
They all work fine, but I hate when they are not applied correctly, it makes them pretty redundant.

I had a bad experience with Skinomi.
I hate that "orange peel" feeling when touching (or looking at it). And most of all, the sticky surface. No no no..I won't buy an Skinomi never again.
I'll look into buying an SPG, very good experience with them. The bad? Their screen protectors are expensive, but they worth.
i currently have a sgp ultra olephobic screen protector for nexus s and it was pricey but was worth it

What i dont like about this brand is that you use liquid soap to apply them wth, you put liquid soap on your device´s screen? that can´t be right
Do they ship to europe?
Yeah I never understood the soap thing.I still have the spray from my zagg so I'm just gonna use that
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You don't actually put soap on your phone, its in the water then rinsed out.
Even though you can't see the soup once rinsed out,
It makes the water have a slight oily substance which helps to cure the skin and helps to apply it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Ima order one. Never used this brand but it will have to do .
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Do these skins cover it all? With the glass I need it on both glass surfaces at minimum. I would also like the sides covered as well. Does this company or any other cover that? Soft touch is great but I baby my devices. Having that extra bit of protection and cushion could mean the difference between getting a crack or not in a small fall.

Fit is nice. But After a while the screen starts the crater and look crappy.

I never had issues with BSE. I tried almost all the other types of skins but I always seem to find myself coming back to their product.

Can you elaborate more? , I don't fully understand
, what do you mean you rinse the water, I know what rinse is but rinsing the water makes no sense to me, sorry English is not my main language
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
What he means is that soap is not directly applied to the phone. It is diluted in water then the solution is sprayed to the skin. The amount of soap needed is very small. It is just enough to make the solution slippery so that when the skin is applied, you can slide it over the device for adjustment.

BSE is good quality, but it has orange peel effects like Zagg and others. I'd suggest something like XO Skins or Skinomi for the screen, as they don't have that problem.
Just ordered one. I use BSE on my HOX and it's fantastic, minimal orange peel effect and feels smooth to the touch. Much better than Zagg or Skinomi imo, I've not tried XO.
Xo is a good company... fast shipping etc but their skins are very rubbery. I'd rather have a little orange peel than have my finger stick. I had that on my nexus 7 and even after a couple months it didn't go away.
I ordered from bse but have never used them before. They claim to have changed their film for 2012 to make it feel better, apply easier, etc. How is their fit?

Think I'll get the skins, first reading the title I laughed out loud 'four skins' faux pas or just my British sense of humour
What do you guys think about this screen protector from XO Skins? http://xoskins.com/cell-phone-skin-protectors/google-skin-protectors/google-nexus-4-screen-protector
Had one for my G Nexus, EXTREMELY TOUGH... tested it when I removed it... (sending phone back to Amazon to refund for a nexus 4!)
It really is super tough.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I just ordered one the other day. I am hoping that it would get to me before the N4 arrives so that I do not have to worry about scratches on the screen. Read a lot of great reviews about XO Skins for different phones, and thought might as well try it. Hopefully it's not ~$14 down the drain.
Have a search on YouTube for tips on applying the skin, it makes all the difference! I searched for xo skin application galaxy nexus or similar... it's a breeze, really.

I have been researching them and it looks like this one is right for me. Apparently these don't have the orange peel look and I think these might be better than the hard/plastic protectors because I've gotten scratches quite easily. But they do seem like I don't have anything installed on them. I'm gonna give the XO Skins a try.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
XO Skin is an excellent protector! I used to use one on my Nexus and I can tell you it's the best protector I've tried so far. No orange peel and the rubbery feeling goes away and feels quite smooth after about a week (or two? been awhile). Also the customer service at XO Skin is top notch, never seen anything better. Yes they do, I ordered a full body one here:

They also do case fit versions too.
I won't use a wet applied skin protector if the screen itself is not in curve, why make it so trouble?
Although XO skin has very nice customer services (I returned 4 times...still getting a bad product, they gave me refund at the end), I was not impressed with their product.
Back to the Samsung Vibrant year, I use Realook clear SP which is really nice.
Do they still make nice screen protector now?

From my experience, 4 out of 4 of my XOskins have rainbow effect for either the whole screen or partial screen.....which stop me from getting one for Nexus 4..
But I see reply saying Nexus 4 is still a curve screen on the edge..
so is that really no way for a dry-apply one to fully cover it?

RE: Realook
I just got confirmation from Realook that they WILL be offering a back protector!!!
Finally! a vendor that is offering both the front and back for this beautiful piece of glASS!!
As for a 3D forming front film, I believe they are debating this--depending on demand.
Post below if you'd be interested in the 3D forming film for the front!
Lets get some real demand going for a quality product for the nexus 4!
I'd be interested. Figured I'd would wait for Spigen SGP to do the case/screen protector combo that they usually do and get something of equal quality for the back (and Realook is for sure just as good as SGP's stuff from my Galaxy S days).
