I want to disable some processes whoch keep running in backgroung like facebook upload service or maps caching. Is there any way to disable those. Is there any program which can do that?

No I don't want to disable the entire app, just some services started by it.
Example Facebook has three services:
Media upload service
Vault managet service
Background detection service
I want to disable MediaUploadService, cause I never upload things to FB and it keeps running in background consuming RAM. Also maps has 3 services, which I normally stop after using it because they consume 30 MB of RAM

Have you tried going into Facebook setting and clicking "never" for refresh interval? Also make sure location is off for messenger services...
Another method - Uninstall the FACEBOOK app, Don't use the app, just have a shortcut to Facebook as a browser link, works almost as good. :silly:

Mine syncs an awful lot and it often takes a long time which causes the phone to lag and slow down to a crawl.
My question is, what does this actually do? Is it necessary for the functionality of htcsense.com? None of the stuff on that site works for me anyway (it doesn't know where my phone is even though I have the check box clicked in the Location settings and it doesn't lock or ring me). So do I need to let this sync and slow down my phone as often as it does?
Thanks.
1. Remove HTC sync account.
2.????
3. Enjoy more speed and better battery. Also, profit!

Haha, I like the South Park reference
What are these options for? I want the sync feature to be exclusively ON just for Gmail, Whatsapp (those having accounts listed below that).
The problem is that it is ON for all other apps and drains my battery as well as using packet data a lot. When I disable Background data, it is OFF for all and I can't use Market too. Any way to solve this?
Sorry for my bad English if you can't get it clearly.

Enable sync only for the apps you want.
I dont share photos often, but shouldnt there be an option to post a pic directly to facebook in our camera app? Is this possible? Do I need to add something? Or just SOL
there is, if you take a picture and then click the bottom right corner of the app it'll open up that recent picture then click the share button and then scroll to FB I just checked it and it should work. Maybe make sure you are logged into facebook on your phone and if you are try a restart or if that still isn't working I think there is a way to open said photo in a different photoviewing app (i recommend quickpic) and that will have the share feature, but if that app can share to facebook then your camera app should be able to as well. In which case maybe a reflash of the rom WITHOUT A DATA WIPE should do the trick.
You can also access the camera from the FB app and post the picture directly that way.
I acctually just use my browser to ,access fb cuz the app uses too much batt. Maybe u need to have the app to have the share option?

You do.
That sucks! The fb app takes away hours of battery life.

You can try FriendCaster and disable notifications. It's quite a bit less resource intensive than the official app.
you can also disable notifications in the official FB app as well but knowing facebook some sort of data nonsense will be going on in the background so you can use a data blocker like pdroid (i think that's the name) or autostart blocker to stop it from opening unless you open it.
Hello anyone, is there a way to install the same app twice on my phone and keeping 2 sets of app data?
In my case I need to to operate 2 different Facebook accounts and I'd like to use the official Facebook app for both. Logging in and out multiple times an hour is not an option, and I don't like the other Facebook clients from the play store as well...
Thanks in advance!

Simple answer - no, it's not possible.
Long answer, yes it could be done, but whatever you try would require some form of interaction - you would either have to create multiple user accounts on your phone (semi-possible under JB) or use Titanium Backup to freeze one copy and un-freeze the other (should be doable, but I've never tried it).
I would also point out the advice BigJoe gave you under your other thread;-
first I don't have or do FB....but if must keep your secrets separate from work, why don't you use the browser "go mobile" for one and the app for your other one. Or if your work requires you to have a FB, why not just keep you private stuff....private.
I remember reading it was a violation of Facebook's Terms of Use to have multiple accounts, but never the less I don't FB.

The only real solution is to accept that you will simply have to either use the mobile browser version for one account or, if you require notifications, use another app for one of the accounts.
Will try the freezing, and thanks.

hi, my friend, i did it before, it was successful
one app, but you can build two different accounts, hope this is helpful for you
In running services there are 3 processes: NetworkLocationService, and 2 other under Google Play Services. One is GoogleLocationManagerService and the other is Google Location Service.
The three use a lot of ram like 25mb. I'd like to know what each does and if I can disable one or two without loosing my location in maps, weather. Thanks

google location service probably has to do with google maps but i am not so sure
i doubt that it is related with weather any of these processes
for weather these are the processes
htc weather location service
htc weather sync provider
htc weather provder
