Hi,
I followed this thread and rooted my Xoom successfully
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
Before I rooted I was on the 4G network, now I can't get on the 4g network. I cannot even get on the 3g network. I have Data enabled under mobile network settings and I activated my device.
Any ideas on how to connect again? Wifi works.
Is it possible I wiped the 4g upgrade off the xoom by rooting? thanks
Pull your sim with power on. It will give a msg, then put it back in and reboot. Make sure wifi is off too.

Hi thanks for the reply
I did this and didn't get any message. I pulled it and now rebooted it. Still no luck
edit: to make it more clear it says no internet connection but the signal fluctuates and it says i have 3.2.1 is that the problem? I think 4g+ is 3.2.2 but even my 3g isnt working
I fixed the problem
I tried using the 3G method to root it after it was unrooted because of the 4g method. That didn't work so I flashed the oem boot.img file. That was the 3.2.1 file when I was supposed to use the 3.2.2 one that Motorola just released about a week ago
I went back and used the oem boot.img file this time 3.2.2 and it worked.
Hi, I've been fighting this problem for about a month. I'm certainly really frustrated.
I detected some time ago that, when someone tries to make a voice call yo my number, my phone seems not to receive the call (or the sequence required for the phone app to show the incomming call is broken at some point, beginning at the radio fw). I've tried many things, like flashing other radios, installing rils, reinstalling the rom (I'm using Revolution HD 7.0.4). The problem still happends every time.
Of course the first step I took was make a complaint to the phone company (Movistar Argentina); they make several tests, and finally change the sim card for a new one. Same as before.
The sim card and the company service seems to work fine, since when I put the same sim card in another phone, I had no problem to receive calls.
I thought full stock restore may be helpful, but I really don't know how to do that since I suspect not everything is placed back as it was OTB. For instance, I don't know how can be the radio+ril can be restored to factory defaults.
Any suggestions will be very appreciated.
Best regards,
Dario
If you can find access to the ruu for your region then you can just run that and it will restore everything to default. I'm not sure if since you are in a different country that you need a different ruu. If you can use the the American 2.47.502.7, I can provide a link. Also have you tried backing up just stuff you need from your sd card and wiping it. Sometimes there can be a file there that will cause issues.

Thanks four your reply.
I actually used the stock rom (I bought the device in America) for several months until change to Revolution ROM, so if you can provide me with a link I'll be grateful. I tried downloading the update from HTC official site, but seems to be an upgrade only application, I cant really tell. It ended up stopping with an error code.
I'll try also completely formatting the sd card.
Here you go. Make sure to install HTC sync on pc and leave it running in background. Then just plug in phone and run from pc
Ruu US 2.47.502.7

Thanks a lot, start downloading right now.
I've just installed Revolution 6.3.3, since I read in some other post that it comes with a RIL, and there's a suggestion about which radio version to use with it. So, after formatting every partition, sd card included, I flashed the proper radio and RHD. For the moment, it seems the phone is working fine, but can't be sure about ir since previously it also had some "god moments". Anyway, I'll keep watching how it behaves for a couple of days.
As a measure of last resort I'll install the stock rom Gizmoe kindly provided.
Thanks again, I'll report back with the results!

So far, so good
After a while, even with a clean RHD 6.3.3 installation, I'm not receiving calls again.
I'm able to make a call, receive sms, use data connection (wifi and 3g), pretty much everything but receive a voice call.
Don't really what to do anymore, I'm considering a hw problem now...

Have you tried reversing to s on. Wiping SD card and then running the ruu I provided. If it still happens with complete stock then I would agree its a hardware or sim card issue.

Ok I've just reversed to s-on with aahk-13012012. The scripts automatically downloaded HTC ATT stock rom, and it seems to be the same version you provided me earlier.
Then, updated to the latest rom published in HTC support site.
Again, as under a clean RHD rom, the first couple of hours everything works fine. So I'm gonna test it every day for 3 days in a row and see what happends.
Thanks again!

Nope, sadly not so many hours later, same problem as before.
I'm going back to RHD, s-off and root, an run an app I found in this forum that allows me to check some system logs. I'm interesting in monitoring the radio log.
Ask your carrier for a new sim. They should just give you one. That's what I would try next.

Actually, before trying flashing new roms or downgrading to previous versions, I asked for a new simcard. I'm using the new one now for about a week

Yes, I've tried many radios and rils.
I can't really tell when exactly the incomming calls problem started, but since the last time I remember not having the problem, I changed the service provider and tried installing AOSP (aospX-1.0.0-BR4-DHD), with the corresponding radio and ril. I didn't liked it, so I went back to RHD (again, with the proper radio). That's why I thought reversing to stock sw could reverse the problems, if any of them were caused by rom/radio installations.
Now I'm back to RHD 7.0.3, and don't really thing flashing some other radio will help at all, but is there some recommendation about it I'll certainly consider it.
As allways, I'm receiving calls again. That could last for several hours.
It would be very useful if there is any script or app to debug real-time events related to incomming calls, so I can figure out what is really happening.
Thanks in advance, once again
Yeah it seems something in the hardware is malfunctioning. You have ruled out the software.

Something strange (at least for me) happend.. Before flashing back RHD, I formatted all partitions (even made a new sd partition and formatted it). So, as far as I know, that completely wipes every peace of data.
But... my home wireless connected automatically!! no need to enter password or select it from the list of available wifi networks. Don't know where that configurations are stored, but it seems something is not being wiped up as I expected...

Can't beleive it!
Hey guys,
I bought a used phone on ebay, which was in a boot loop.
I fixed the boot loop by flashing a stock rom with flash tool. After that I unlocked the bootloader and tried a ICS rom. It worked fine, but I couldn't connect to a network (no service, wifi works). It tried different sim cards and providers... all with the same issue. If I want to connect manually to a network a message pops up: Your sim card cant connect to this network. The crazy thing is that if I search for networks I find my network but cant connect...
So I thougt there may be a problem with the rom or the kernel->I tried various roms and kernels -> all have the same issues
Maybe go back to stock will fix the problem -> :crying: No I tried it.
I just don't know, what is wrong with this phone. I'm new to SE devices, so I might have done something wrong(?).
I hope someone of you can help me getting the device work.
Thanks in advance

Maybe you only need to set APN
Try to put only wcdma network,in mobile networks

I'll try that tomorow.
The apns are correct.

I tried only wcdma:
It is even worse :sly:. The phone does Not find any Provider networks. So there is not even a chance to select the network manually.
I still think that the device has a software issue and no hardware issue, because it finds the available networks but can't connect to one.
Strange stuff.... :what:

Maybe it's sim locked?
dial *#*#7378423#*#* , look under service info -> SIM lock
0 means it's unlock
1 should means it's locked
This has happened to me before. It happened while I was using the phone, and restating at first didn't fix it.
To fix it, I went to the dialer and dialed *#*#4636#*#*
Goto phone information and turn off the radio, then turn it back on, hopefully that will fix it. It worked for me. Good luck.

OK so I flashed carbons latest nightly, and couldn't get the phone to skip the activation screen... So I wiped everything and reflashed my tw goto ROM. Now it just keeps showing me as roaming and I can't get service back. I've selected all the proper network settings but nothing is working!!!

1 Go to Settings/Mobile Network
3 Go to System Select change to Auto NOT Home
3 Go to CDMA Subscription change to RUIM NOT NV
4 Now Dial *2767*3855#
5 You should hear a Verizon Operator come on wait for 1 minute then hang up
6 Reboot Phone

I had the same issue two days ago when I flashed to the latest MIUI Rom. Here's how I fixed it.
Go into settings, mobile networks, make sure subscription is set to SIM. After that open the phone, type *#*#4636#*#* make sure it's set to LTE/CDMA/AUTO
Reboot phone and all should be well.

TY!
So I installed bmm without issue, made my back ups and started trying roms. I had a hell of a time getting anything to boot. I would get stuck on the boot animation every time. Finally got slim kat installed and that is the only one I can reliably boot into. Tried aokp 4.3 which booted the first time but gets stuck on the animation now.
Also, when aokp worked I had no mobile data. Same problem currently with slim kat.
Where do I go from here? I've tried clearing cache and davlik on both with no luck.

Thanks, Wasn't aware of that. I copied my APNs from my stock ROM. I get data now, just not 4g for some reason. I'm looking around to figure that one out.

I only have the options of 3g and 2g with 3g already being selected. I don't know whats going on. My stock ROM gets 4g with those APN's, re-entered everything to make sure I didn't miss anything but I still don't have 4g as an option.

Well wcdma only didn't do anything. After messing with Slimkat and another 4.4 ROM (which only worked until I rebooted) I've decided that there are just too many bugs for me to use it daily. I decided to try a 4.3 ROM but I'm still having issues getting one to boot after the first reboot. I've let it sit on the boot animation for 45 minutes and it never loaded.
I haven't found a lot of advice on the subject of ROMs only booting once. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I realize this is an old one, but I thought it might be worth mentioning...
I had the same problem. When I copied APN data (specifically "apn type") from my stock ROM data did enable, but at a very slow speed. A quick search yielded this AT&T site which suggested different settings. I was able to choose the "ATT Phone" config and modify "apn type" from "default, supl, mms" to "default, mms, supl, hipri".
When I modified that value, data was much faster, but still only clocked 3.5 Mbps on my CM ROM vs 5.1 on Stock with SpeedTest.net app. I believe it used different servers and I only did a single AB test.
...and by the way - I am also a bit frustrated with the BMM setup. It seems like a third of the time I am unable to successfully boot back into my CM ROM. It always seems to boot into Stock ROM fine. I do have CM in the second slot which it sounds like some folks prefer to not use.
