[Q] Telus Fascinate 4g sgh-t959p help!! - General Questions and Answers

I am in desperate need of some help. I falshed a rom to my phone using odin that was not for my device, since I am new at this and actually don't know much about it. So I looked for guidance on this forum and messaged many ppl but I have not gotten a response. I have tried links on the forum for the roms but they are all removed from the links. I flashed a rom for a shg-t959d and it boots up but it will not read my sd card says blank card but its not balnk my computer reads it, also my storage says 0.00gb. I just really want my phone back to a working state any help would be greatly appreciated.

Find links?
Any luck with your phone? I am looking to root mine as well, but like you I can't find any working files, or anybody to help. I have also posted and emailed people with no response. Very frustrating for beginners. I would be great full if you could pass any info on to me, and I will do the same for you. Were you able to root your phone without problem, and if so how? I was going to use odin, then I got nervous, so I was going to try superoneclick. Any help you can give would be great.

Hello everyone. I just purchased an Evo Shift from a guy on craigslist who had this phone working with Cyanogenmod 7 and gingerbread. We got his phone cleared off and I went to have it added to my account. Sprint is saying I need to have it back to stock to get the phone programed to their network.
The last tech that looked at it said there is no "Update PRL" on the phone now.
So, as of right now, I have an $180 paper weight, lol.
If someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I've never had a rooted phone, so this is all foreign to me. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to xda xdbnewb,
You can find a stock ROM that will allow you to provision the phone in the Evo shift section. Until you are more familiar with using a rooted phone the easiest way to install it would be through the ROM manager app, all you should have to do is download the ROM to your sd card and then tell ROM manager to flash it.

Stock ROM - Version 2.72.651.2
Don't forget to go through orientation here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
THanks for the reply. I downloaded the stock rom to the SD card. And now it's telling me that the SD card needs to be mounted. I've searched the phone and have no clue how to go about doing this.
Thanks again for your help!

[Q] Need help. Bricked My phone

OK so, I'm not a super noob but I'm also not an expert so I may understand certain terms.
Thank you so much for reading this and this thread is awesome because like me people out there really need help.
Really appreciate the work done here.
I usually follow you guys tutorials and stuff and always manage to come out successful without making a post like this one.
But I got to tell you this phone got me beat.
SO here we go.
I purchased a chinese mobile device, specifically a Tethin TX300 and after messing around with it I changed permission to the system/app folder and now it's stuck in a boot loop. Can anyone help? Any idea would be appreciated. Thanks
Isn't it possible to access the recovery on the phone to do a device reset?..
Thank you for your fast answer. Yes it is possible to access recovery mode. I have already tried to do a factory reset/wipe data but that didn't help. Any other ideas? Is it possible to restore permissions using adb ? Thanks

[Completed] [Q] HTC One m7 - Unrooting issues

Hi everyone!
Terribly sorry this is my first post here and im looking for something, been reading through the site for the past few months but never registered.
I recently bought a HTC One M7, updated to 4.4.2 but rooted so i cannot get OEM updates.
It has ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.8 istalled, busybox and SuperSu.
Im trying to unroot it and get it back to factory standard, its not for the warranty that really doesnt matter to me.
I just need some expert guidance if possible and just to be pointed in the right direction would be more then enough as there is so much information to try and retain lol.
I have been browsing through threads but im terrified i end up doing something wrong and bricking my phone.
Im living in Ireland and my phone was supplied by an operator called 'Meteor' so im a bit confused as to what method to take and where to get the exact oem stock software that will enable me to get back and let me update past 4.4.2
If anyone could link me a few threads or help in any way that would point me in the guaranteed right direction would be great, and also any information where i could get the exact file file i need to flash to get it back to stock, i understand the radio etc needs to correspond with my network operator.
Many thanks in advance for this one

Alright, Im going to be completely honest. I am a complete and total noob to the tech behind smartphones. As Ive been learning, I tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy SII SCH-R760X, and after I attempted to flash a kernel that was suggested by this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/how-to-root-galaxy-sii-sch-r760-generic-t1928566, my phone is now stuck at the logo with a warning sign at the bottom. After all this, I realized I made the worst possible mistake anyone could ever make: I didnt backup my system. Luckily, I didnt have much data on it anyway. At this point I am aware it has become a softbrick, and Ive looked at guides such as this one:http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development/guide-fix-unflashable-soft-bricked-t1619571, but it still tells me to "put the recovery file in its place". Im assuming he's talking about the backup... which i dont have. If anyone could point me to where I can find a backup for it, or upload one for me, I would be incredibly in debt to you. Thank you for reading, I know how most people feel about noobs, but I dont know where else to go.
Please, if I am doing something wrong with this post, please tell me. I dont want to be an annoyance. In fact, this is my first time ever posting to a forum! Id love to get into smartphone tech, however, since I couldnt find a place to start, I made the foolish choice of simply diving in and ruining my phone (hopefully not permanently). Anyway, thank you for reading! Even if you cant help, I really appreciate the attention. Thanks!

You have already found good threads.
To recover a soft-bricked device, you basically have to flash back an official firmware for your device.
The guide you found was for the GT-I9100G, which is a little bit different from your exact device model.
Here is another guide for other variants of the S2: [GUIDE] Fix an unflashable or soft bricked GSII (I9100G/M/P/T VERSION INCLUDED) by Phistachio.
As there is no "ready-to-go" recovery package available for your device model, you have to get an official/stock firmware for your device.
A link to possible firmware sources is in the first post of the guide you posted.
Flashing the stock firmware with Odin should fix the soft-brick.
If not, maybe a wipe data (= factory reset) in recovery mode (long press Volume UP + HOME + POWER) is needed additionally.
And rooting your device seems to be working with this too: [ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices by alephzain ... I found some users confirming it working fine to root your device model.
If you still have issues and need further help, please ask in the [Q&A][SGS2][Newbies][Experienced Users][RCs] New members friendly Q&A thread by It_ler thread.
There we try to give detailed help for all variants of the S2.
Good luck !
Thanks for responding man! I didnt think anyone would reply.
I really appreciate the help. However, I downloaded and flashed the droiddroidz kernel turner78 said to flash, and that was what made my phone go softbricked in the first place... I tried flashing the other two kernels instead, and they proceeded to put my phone in bootloop... So, I tried flashing the "Siyah" stock kernel everyone was talking about, and it made this weird eye thing with a yin-yang flash on my phone... And Im sorry Im a total noob, I just recently learned what flashing and kernels were from the help of google :/... Im still a little lost on what Roms are. But reguardless, Im assuming the kernels I tried flashing were incompatible or corrupted, and thats whats making my phone not work. If Im wrong, correct me please. I know my phone is version 1.4.1, but thats about it. I dont know if its "Gingerbread" or "jellybean" or whatnot. Im sure Ive just made a stupid mistake and Im too dumb to know how to fix it.

[Completed] My Alcatel One Touch Evolve is Bricked

I've tried looking online for the stock rom but there is not alot of support for this device. It is a kinda cheap smartphone. I can access the revocery mode to install roms from my sd card but I can't find a working rom. I've searched the internet for 2 hours straight looking but I can't find anything. I really need help finding a compatible rom. My friend recommended my to you guy because he said you were very reliable. I love you. Please help me fix my phone I am very depressed. It's the first phone I've ever gotten. I bricked it by editing the build.prop file and the generic.kl file to disable the physical keys on my phone and enable the on screen keys if that makes sense. if you have any questions AT ALL feel free to ask. I love you guys, so please don't give up on me. I just want my phone back.
(I have a laptop, my phone, a USB cable and a micro sd card)
Again, it's an Alcatel One Touch Model: 5020n
The One Touch can also be appreviated to OT. My phone is also called an M'POP on the manufacturers site.
My phone looks exactly like this: http://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/p...Touch-MPop.jpg
My phone carrier metro pcs
I've tried a bunch of roms but my phone always displays the message "Installation aborted" which I think means it's not compatible. I've only tried to install .zip files
