Build of the power button and vol buttons, something wrong with my note? - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all! Just something bothering me for a bit but I just wanted someone or preferably a few people to check and confirm something that may be a problem with my Note. Is the power button raised lower than the volume buttons? I say this because the volume buttons extrude out further and are more rigid than the power button on my note. To be honest this does make pressing the power button easier, but once again, just checking. This doesn't affect the Note in anyway, just something on my mind. Thanks for any replies!

That's how mine is too.. power button is half the height I'd say.

They are all like that. Obviously part of the design to make it easier to find the volume button, and harder to hit the power button by mistake.

[Q] On / Off button

Just rec'd my Transformer, but the on/off button seems to be a little loose and I usually have to press it really hard to wake the device. Does anyone have this problem?
define "loose"?
Mine isn't rock solid and yes the button has a decent amount of resistance, or do you mean you have to keep pressing after the click?
It's loose compared to the volume rocker. I don't feel a click... Maybe I'll have to check it out when stores start putting them on display and decide whether or not I should get an exchange.
Thanks for your reply.

[Q] power button getting smaller?

has anybody else noticed that the power button is becoming more recessed and a little more sensitive?
Guessing it is just over time?!
might have to look into replacing it...
Thoughts?
Use volume rocker button to wake phone.
Problem solved

I don't notice it at all on either my i9020t or D720. Maybe you're pushing it too hard?
i use my volume keys for music very often, so thats a no go :'(
might be pushing too hard or too often...
just going to wait and see what happens

Volume button sticking

Just curious, anyone else experiencing this issue? Other members have their volume button fall off (which I could've easily solved) OR their power button issue (which appears to be software related) but for me... my volume button is sticking. The VOL-UP sticks. I just hope it doesn't die anytime soon, how's everyone elses so far? The only really annoying thing is when I want to turn up the volume, it goes all the way up and it keeps displaying the "media/ringer volume" which then I have to press the vol-up again in order to get it out of the way. It'll be a pain if it completely dies though!
No volume/power button issues here.
Maybe it's sticky behind the back cover, have you checked?

Yeah, I checked. I took off the housing and pressed the vol-up itself. I find this irritating. I used to love their build quality but just giving up with them now. Started with the nexus one power button (which I prevented by using the volumes and screen off holding the search buton) issue and it continues! ugh. Now for senny, my volume is slowly dying. Yeah it feels cheap that's why I was wondring if it was only on mine. But I have this WIFI issue that annoys me to death too
I returned my first one because it had screen separation issues, but the power button was fine. This is my second infinity, and i did notice the power button to be a bit loose. Doesn't bother me as much as the raised screen issue
Yeah, mine's a little lose. Not worth retuning for IMO.

power and volume buttons are cheap. power is too loose, but volume up is too tight. volume down is just right.
Complain complain complain just for a power button that's a bit wiggly.

...another useless post by me...
My concern with the power and volume buttons is that will quit working - they are just so damn cheap! On a tablet where everything else is top-notch, I just can't understand why they use such cheap buttons - what good is this awesome tablet if you can't turn the damn thing on!?!?
It just makes no sense. Of all things, the Power button is simply too important to use such cheap, plastic buttons for!
There were plenty of TF101 users that had the same issue (power and volume buttons quit working) - and they were actually of higher quality that those in my TF700!
Oh well, just use them as little as possible, I guess (I personally use an app to reboot/power off if at all possible).

power button problem

the power button of my phone feels a little bit fragile. is it normal? it feels like pressing a key on a keyboard. I just want to confirm whether if the power button is softer than other model. or is it a factory defect? i don't want to return this unless I am sure that this is a factory defect.
