I have the kyocera rise, which i am trying to root. Everytime to root my phone, the console says its succsessful and all, but once i get on my phone after the reboots, SuperSU is on it. Now once i open SuperSU it asks to update the binary needs to update, after i accept it the update fails. And i cant even get rid of SuperSU, because i tried the unroot method with Bin4ry's console, and the app is still on my device. After installing SuperUser, it tells me that the SU binary is an older version, and after i try updating it says it's checking root access, then it fails. THE BIG QUESTION HERE IS, HOW CAN I GET MY KYOCERA RISE BACK TO A FULL WORKING ROOTED PHONE, I MISS THE ROOT

Ok so im a noob to this android thing, ive successfully rooted my phone twice with super one click and it worked perfect but as soon as i flashed my phone with "odin Ec10 with root+cw" it all went crazy. i could not get root access from any of my apps. So i used odin to flash it back to 2.1 and rooted it with super one click, bt when it sent the SU test i got nothing, i downloaded root checker and tested to see if i had it rooted but it gave me this:
Root acess is not properly configured or was not granted
SU binary not found in the system declared path.
Now i flashed 2.2 with odin and its still giving me the same thing. super one click is not doing its job and im stuck with an unrooted phone. i also tried restoring to factory settings and wiping cache but still nothing. maybe something messed up in the system folder or something idk, if you need more info ill answer anything, ill be active on the forum for a while.
Check and make sure USB Debugging is enabled in the phone's settings under Applications -> Development.
i tried that, still didnt work.
This may sound a bit stupid but have you tried rebooting the phone? I've flashed ROMs before where I wouldn't get SU access on the initial boot and had to reboot it to get it to start doing its thing.
ok i got it!!!! I guess SUper One Click only roots my phone when i start Super One click and wait for it to way "waiting for device" i turn on my phone, as the Samsung logo pops up S.O.C. starts rooting it Correctly. Finally after my 12th flash (lol) it works. thanks anyways guys. Hopefully no one else has this problem.
Strange, but hey, whatever works. Glad you got it fixed.
Evo 3D on Android 4.0.3, root fail
I had updated my HTC Evo 3D OTA from 2.3.3 to Android 4.0.3 software version 3.28.707.1 then unlocked it using HTC Method. Unlock success than I flashed recovery with CWM Shooter. Flash success but when I load recovery, the phone just boot up normally. CWM screen not loaded to load custom ROM.
When I open ROM Manager it says:
You must root your phone for ROM Manager to function. Superuser was not found at "/system/bin/su" or "/system/xbin/su". Use Google Search on your computer to find instruction to root your phone.
When I open SUperuser apps it says:
su binary not found
I already tried USB debugging mode, and flash with other .img with other version of CWM. Still not working.
I had rooted my phone a few months ago using the command prompt, then a few weeks later it asked me to update the su binaries.
It would always say download fail.
I have been able to install apps that needed root privileges till a few weeks ago. It would say my phone had the su, but it wouldnt let the program run.
Yesterday I was playing with a Windows OS program that said it would root my phone, so I ran it, and it said failed, then i decided to unroot my phone and reroot it thinking it'll solve the problem. Now I can't reroot the phone.
I have tried R1 and R3 superboot, and the all in one kit "noob free" app.
Superboot goes through all the procedures and then restarts my phone, yet it does not detect that su is on the phone.
I don't get any error messages.
Thank you

Thank you for the response.
Yes, the HTC one S.
I do have the bootloader unlocked already.
I seen tutorials with the recovery portion as part of a step, but I am wondering about the step where I just inject the su and binaries into the phone as I have done prior.
Thank you again.
Just get your solution from the Universal busybox/su flashable zip thread.
Despite it's in the xperia thread this will work on any phone, as su and busybox are present on ALL rootet devices. In fact these two things present and working means full root.
Download, boot your device into fastboot mode and flash zip from TWRP. Done.
I rooted my p8 lite with king root. Then I replaced it with super su. But I couldn't instal busy box so I removed super su. Then it messed up. Now I can't uproot it. It's not also properly rooted. If I open king root it says root auth error. Fix now. But it's not fixing. Now what can I do? ? Please help me out
Root auth error
I've got a simillar problem, I once rooted my Honor 6 with Kingroot, then uninstalled the app (unrooting the phone), then I rooted it again and that's when I got this error, saying the root failed. I checked with Root Checker app and it says that the phone's rooted, but KingRoot says to "Fix now" and it is not able to do so. Not sure what to do, I neither can properly root, nor unroot my phone ! :/
I think I have a solution (might not work, please don't kill me!), if you open SuperSU and update the binary, what happens? Also, if you flash the binary via recovery, what happens, I'd like to know if it is a binary issue since (from what I know) kingroot uses an old binary.
Hi all,
I am having problems with my phone and its starting to drive me crazy. I have a ZTE N817 (Obama phone) which I rooted and flashed TWRP to about 8 months ago. The rom is stock because I've never been able to find any custom roms. I used the kingoroot PC application to root the device (the app I've found that was able to root it), and replaced kinguser with supersu. Everything worked great, or at least as good as one can expect from a device with such lown spec hardware.
About a week ago I opened my busybox installer (Busybox Pro (Stericson) and I noticed the app said either I didn't have root or I needed to update the supersu binary. I had the most recent supersu binary but I reinstalled it and updated the binary anyway. The binary updated fine. Busybox still said I didnt have root. I then down loaded a root checker app from the store, it said I had root and my busybox installation was fine. I opened a few more apps that require root (titanium backup, root explorer, etc) all said the device was not rooted. I installed a couple more root checkers, both said the device was not rooted but one said busybox was installed and the other said it wasnt. The first root checker app still said the phone was rooted and busybox installed.
Whenever I run an app that requires root, I get the popup from supersu asking me to grant root access. I grant it but then the apps just tell me that they are unable to get root access and my device is not rooted. I reinstalled kingoroot on my PC and ran it to root the phone again. It said it ran successfully, supersu installed fine and updated the binary. Still no change in anything. I tried to use kingoroot to unroot the device (just so I could root it again) but kingoroot was unsuccessful, but it says it has no problems rooting it.
At this point I have no idea what is going on or how I can get root access back. Any help or ideas anyone may have will be greatly appreciated.:highfive: Like I said, its seriously starting to drive me nuts. :crying::crying:
Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

Yes, I still have TWRP. If I install supersu from the play store without the binary installed the app will tell me immediately after opening that my device is not rooted and it won't work. If I flash the binary through TWRP first, then supersu installs from the play store no different than if the device was still rooted, but I still don't have root. I get the toast notifications whenever an app requests access, but of course it is unable to grant it. I am still on the exact same version of Android as when I got the phone, nothing other than apps themselves have been updated. I have zero idea how I lost root, and even more confusing to me is why I cannot reacquire it. Again just last night, I tried Kingoroot (what I originally rooted the device with), Dr Fone, iRoot, eRoot and Framaroot. Every one failed.:crying: It's a real pain in the rear because the phone's hardware is so lacking that root access is needed just to make the device somewhat usable. I have not ever been able to find a custom rom despite searching all over many times. But last night I was thinking, since I stil have TWRP if I can find someone else with the same handset with root....could I flash a backup of their stock rom? Would that work?:fingers-crossed: I'm becoming extremely frustrated

Here are some things to check.
Maybe you need to make sure you have root access in developer options set to "apps and adb".
Make sure you have a root explorer and that it is enabled.
Check SELinux to see if it's set to "enforcing" or "permissive", set it to permissive if you can.
You might need to use SuperSU in "systemless mode"
Yes, in theory, a rooted backup from someone else should work.

This Phone is a Qualcom Technologies, Inc "Proccessor MSM8609" Model TCL A462C Acatel Onetouch runing Android version 4.4.4 and Yes I have tried King root It reports Rooted but only temporarly and I cant even remove system apps with the temp root and yes I have tried third party apps for this process they claim root granted and even claimed they removed said apps but as soon as reboot root is gone and the apps are back please help.
Further more I havent been able to find a reliable way to transfer my root over to super su eaither
By the way I can go into factory recovery but cannot go into fastboot or download mode the only other mod I can go into is Safemode.
Also It Takes A while of running with the temp root but eventually although it takes a while kingroot will also eventually tell me that this phone restricts root authorization and by the time this happens Apps also start reporting that the su binary is not installed with the exception of super su which tells me su binary ocuipied This happens later after those same apps previously told me root granted. And yes I have checked and made sure there is not kingroot imposed restrictions. I dont know why this happens. I tried Adding My Question To the end of an old thread about the same phone but never got a response so I am thinking members dont check old forms and I am sorry if this is against the rules but please help
