Downgrade JB -> ICS - HTC Sensation

I haven't a concrete answer on this, so i'll ask.
Q. Can our HTC Sensations once on a JellyBean ROM be downgraded to an ICS ROM? if so how?

if you have 3.32fw or 3.33fw version so any ics or jelly bean rom will work
just flash from recovery
always do a nandroid backup first

it's not that simple. you'll get boot loop. maybe need to use blank sd card. or just use JB. what's wrong with JB anyway?

Since there is no information given about the specific phone in question it is hard to answer the question...
But yes you can move between JB and ICS...
I do so regularly... But since nothing about the specific phone is provided-- can't realy say if you can or not.

Bootloop ???
And blank sd card for what ??? :what:
Mate ics and jelly beans run on same firmware . . 3.3x for HTC sensation
So u don't require to do somethin special for downgrading jelly to ics
If u want to downgrade ics or jelly beans to gingerbread . . Then u have to downgrade firmware first then Rom . .

its best that you dont update with the official RUU because it changes your bootloader. If you dont want S-OFF, read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525100 or if you want be S-OFF (best choice): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318919.
If you want be S-OFF update your HBOOT with one of this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679338 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236890
And finally you can flash a custom rom in my opinion the best are Fallout (sense 4A), Virtuous (full sense 4) and ICE DS (sense 3.6). All of this roms are android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). I hope that i will explain well.
Happy flashing!!!!

If you want official RUU, read this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1858508 but is better a custom ICS ROM because you can overclocking and undervolting with amida's kernel and get more optimizations and tweaks. :good:
mine is S-on
You can flash the pg88img.zip directly if you want only the Ruu, flash it in bootloader. You can find it in mine last post.
Edit: but you need your s-on bootloader locked yo do it

No, read well the guides, inside them are well explained the procedement to all! But I repeat you that the best choice is get s-off or htc-dev unlocked and install a custom rom, then you can get being s-off change in a easy way from ginger to ics or ics to ginger! I hope that i explained well.

Ok, then install a recovery over fastboot and then make a full wipe in you recovery ( 4ext is a great choice) and flash a custom rom with ics. If you want only ruu, put the pg88img.zip in the root of your sd and flash it through your bootloader. Ok?

[Q] Few questions about custom roms , s off etc

Hey guyz
just got my bricked htc sensation from htc.
They replace motherbooard in warranty.
It comes with android 2.3.4
So, before i go to custom roms i have few questions
1 )Should i install ics after s of directly or s off--->recovery--->apply update? It require ics Firmware?
2)does formating sd card and factory reseting aokp aosp roms cause device bricked?
3)Does Battery low up to zero cause brick?
4)if we use same rom 4 long time without update or reflash is there chance to bricked?
Please clear my these doubts.
I dont want bricked my device again.
Thank you...

Downgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.0.4

I never rooted or flashed or anything to my one s, yesterday I got the official jellybean update and so far I hate it
sure they made some things good, contact pictures aren't low quality any more but the downside out weighs the good stuff, I can't play any games cause it lags, the 3d effect on my home screens is gone
all in all I want to downgrade back to ics, the official htc ice, not custom ones. I'm willing to root or w/e it is asking is my phone is how it was yesterday before the update
please help, oh and I have the s4 processor
Edit: even after turning everything off I'm using up 800mb ram out of the 1gb
AW: Downgrade from 4.1.1 to 4.0.4
RAM management on Linux/Android is different as the windows one.
Full doesnt automatically means bad, but yes the usage is higher then on ICS.
Only way to revert to official ICS is downgrade your HBoot or getting S-OFF and installing the ICS Ruu.

oh and by official ICS, you mean like the exact same thing i had before i downgraded to jellybean, no custom anything and my warranty still intact

if s-off, hboot and ruu are unknown for you the procedure could be very risky for you..
maybe think about flashing a custom rom which is based on 4.0.4, like zenRom or Trickdroid 7, its much easier than downgrading etc.

this is normally the ruu, doubleklick, and it makes everything on its own.
but the jb-ota updated the hboot, so the ics ruu isnt compatible anymore.
to let the ics ruu run again you have to downgrade your hboot.

Fyi you will lose warranty if you attempt any of the above steps I.e root, s off etc. I think you should give custom roms a go if you are going to unlock bootloader and root. Trickdroid is pretty much stock but better and viper is amazing. Using hasoons all in one tool is probably the easiest way to unlock phone (stickied in dev section).

Manual Upgrade
Hi Guys,
I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile .... Its not rooted yet .....
But the software upgrade won't work .... The update gets downloaded (as I can see the update file in my file explorer) but it won't install ....
The phone merely restarts ....
I have 4.0.3, and want to upgrade to 4.0.4 .... fed up with the multi-tasking issues.
Is there any way to install the upgrade file manually, or do I need to install a 4.0.4 based custom ROM?

[Q] Flashing a ROM on HTC Sensation 4g

Hello everyone,
I recently bought HTC Sensation 4g (T-mobile) and it's already S-OFF, rooted (Superuser by ClockworkMod) and recovery is CWM 5.0.2.0 and it has stock rom Android 2.3.4. Recently, I got alerted about an update of 4.0.4 for my HTC then I downloaded it but can't install it so I guess it's because it's rooted. I really want to install 4.0.4 on my HTC sensation 4g then I searched up for roms until I found this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654347
Now, my question is, how should I flash it? Should I normally just flash it via CWM or via odin? Or I will have to go back to stock recovery for flashing the rom that Steve0007 posted on the thread linked above. And just to confirm, is it compatible with my device?
Android: 2.3.4
HTC Sense: 3.0
Software number: 1.50.531.1
Thanks!

First upgrade your firmware to 3.33universal
Go to the development section and search for kohr-ah's thread
Follow the instructions carefully and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
After that you have to flash an ics or jellybean Rom because your current Rom won't boot with ics firmware
Edit:do not never use Odin for anything.it is not for sensation devices

You cant. Even with the correct RUU file of ICS you cant. Cos your HBOOT has been updated. I tried to go to ICS also with my official One S, with locked state.
The solution lies here. It had worked for me completely. But this worked on to go back to stock JB. But i believe if you have a stock ICS nandroid you can do it still. Just do a little search here on the forum, cos thats how i found this.
