[Problem] HTC Inspire will not work at all HELP!!

Hey all, I just got through with this hurricane sandy business and now I find my phone not working at all. First off I'd like to say that there is no water damage to this phone and it is NOT rooted. The problem is that it just won't turn on at all, and won't charge when I try to charge the device. The day before I charged the phone and it worked fine. I can provide more details if needed but I need to find a solution to this.

Did it run down on battery completely before it did this? You might need to charge it for a bit before it turns on. Also, see if you can get your hands on a spare battery to see if it's the battery's problem. I would also try removing the battery and putting it back just to make sure it wasn't jostled loose.

Two days ago I completely let the battery drain on its own because it was draining faster than usual and I was using it very minimally due to the lack of phone signal during the power outage. And yesterday I charged it until it was 100% in the morning and at night I charged it again until 100%. Before I went to bed, I turned off my phone and it was 90% and when I turned it on in the morning it was at 77% (which I thought was weird since the phone was not even on). Now the phone will not work at all. I took the battery out and everything. I even tried turning the phone on while trying to charge it (but it would not charge). The only feedback I got was that it vibrated when I tried turning it on this afternoon and after that was nothing. (it would either get stuck at the AT&T bootup part or I would get no display at all)

And nothing happened to it in between at all? That's very odd. The only thing I can think of to try is another battery.

Nothing I can think of. It was fully charged by 9PM the other night and shut off before I went to bed. Next morning the batter is nearly halfway drained for no apparent reason. I think I will get another battery to test.
Also I let the battery sit out of the phone for a few days now and the phone still does not work.

Get a hold of a charged battery, then after 1 hour with no battery in the device, replace the battery remove the SD-Card and the SIM-Card, replace all covers. Reboot your PC and go to firewall tab in the control panel and turn of your firewalls, then reboot your PC, then using USB data cable not a charging cable.. with your device being OFF conect to a USB connection in the back of your PC, if it's a laptop use the one next to the intranet connection. Then wait about 1min. If nothing happwned, hold the volume down button then press and release the power button. if nothing happened, hold the volume up then press and release the power button. If nothing happened do the samething this time by holding both up and down volume buttons. If nothing happened with your device connected to the PC go to MY Computer tab right click on C>Properties then go to tools click on check disc tab check mark both options then restart your PC. Before windows tour OS starts, your PC will go through a self check. let it do its thing. it takes a couple of hours. then after its down check to see if it has seen your device. if not then do procedures above once again. GOOD LUCK.

Okay so I finally got it to turn on but in order to charge it, the phone must be turned off for some reason. Also, the touch screen is not working, even after I did a hard reset and erased all my data. I'm not sure if it is a hardware issue or a software issue because the display is working fine.

That same thing happened to a friend of mine. She took it to a technician tho and they sorted it out for her.

Hello every one, this just my first post here, but I have been follow the forum very very close since some days ago thanks to Mustaavalkosta and his new CyanogenMod Rom here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533007&page=283.
I am having a similar problem with my HTC Inspire, here is my story. I bought it like it a year ago, the first thing I do was to rooted with AAHK and install CyanoyenMod cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-ace. Everything works just fine till a couple of months ago. One night I just leave my Inspire and go to sleep, the next morning I wasn't able to turn on, not charging, not turn on. Was not the battery because my brother has another Inspire and I check with his battery. I just leave the phone without the battery and Sim and SD for a day and them come back again, but at next day the same occurs. I try all that time, vol down+power. voldown+volup, every convination but nothing works. So I decide to dissensambly my phone... in the process I broke the ribbon flex cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-HTC-Desire-HD-Inspire-4G-Camera-Socket-Keypad-Membrane-PBC-Ribbon-Flex-Cable-/320925341841?pt=US_Cell_Phone_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4ab8a41891 The phone was in parts on my table like a month till I was able to buy and recieve the ribbon (I live in Colombia). Finally the ribbon arrives 3 days ago, so I assembled the phone again and...magic! the phone turns on. My next step was install the Mustaavalkosta Rom that I mentioned before.... but, yesterday, my phone was dead again. So a try all steps again, put out the battery, Sim and Sd... and again try all the combinations of buttons, but nothing works... So I do it again: dissensably again my phone: Only disconnecting the display doesn't works... I have to disconect the display and the ribbon cable, assembled again and just turn on again.... Now I am waiting for the next black out...
I know is a weird behavior, but may be some one can point me in some direction to fix it.. I am not a developer or anything like that, but I like to investigate and solve problems... any help will be wonderful.

New phone wont turn on. Fix or return?

I bought a brand new Blaze a few days ago while vacationing in Florida. I neglected to check it out while i was there and Im home now (in Bermuda) checking it out for the first time and the phone wont boot! I popped the battery in and nothing happens when i try to power it on. So thinking the battery was dead, i plugged it in and now it just vibrates. It vibrates continuously every 2 seconds. buzzz...buzzz...buzzz...buzzz. The screen never powers on at all. Im guessing i have a bricked phone out of the box? Or is there a simple fix for this that i havent been able to find?
If i do return this, can it be returned to any authorized T-Mobile dealer? I wont be going back to Florida but i know someone who is visiting Boston next week.

Try tmobile customer support they have gotten a lot better the last few years
I'm not a Dev, I just flash alot.

I'd return it personally. Same goes for any gadgets that fail before the initial return policy expires. Things happen, but I never liked that feeling of doubt that happens later, when something else goes wrong with the device. You'll be thinking, "I KNEW I should have exchanged this!"

Have you charged it fully? This is the default behavior if there isn't enough power to boot. Let it charge for 24 hours... then try again.

It vibrates like that when the device is plugged in and there's no battery detected or installed. My guess is the battery is defective or the orientation of the battery in the phone is incorrect (hey, it happens sometimes), or there is an obstruction preventing the pins in the phone from making contact with the battery or the pins don't properly align with the battery (defect with the phone or battery).
But I would agree that you should return it for another - especially if the pins aren't fully aligned with the battery when it's inserted.

Thanks guys, you were right, the battery was the culprit, it was dead flat.
I popped it into my universal charger, gave it a full charge and it was good to go, the phone booted and is working normally.

[Q] Vibrating brick

Bought it right when it came out August 2012. Really pretty light usage over the years. Took it on a trip, came home and it just sat, mostly dead battery. I assume the battery died 100% over the two weeks that I didn't touch it. Last week I went to charge it to use and it just vibrated. I got it to stop by holding power for 10 seconds. Orange light on charging. A day later I have a green light but when I go to turn on it just vibrates. quick pulse then full vibrate until the battery dies.
I called Asus who had me try a soft reset with no luck (Thanks!). They promptly told me it would need a new mainboard and that they would be happy to look at an estimated $203 for the repair. $203 to repair what was a $500 tablet 2 years ago.
So is there any suggestions? somebody else that could repair it? Other tricks? Hard reset?
I can turn off the vibrating but then nothing.
Help.

I have seen this problem about a half dozen times in the forums. The lucky ones were able to get it back by letting the battery drain completely (let it vibrate until it runs out of juice), then trickle charge it via USB cable from a PC. Make sure the PC doesn't go to sleep since this will charge at only 2% per hour or so. Leave it to trickle charge overnight and try to boot it.
The charging indicator will NOT light up when you trickle charge.

Well I set it to vibrate itself to oblivion this morning. Hopefully tonight it will be dead and I can start the trickle charge.
While the light might not come on, is there a way to tell it is charging? In the current state nothing shows up on my W8 laptop to say the device is connected. Is there a driver I should preinstall?

Nope - you won't seea thing, but trust me it does charge slowly.
You have to be booted into something for Windows to recognize your tablet: recovery, fastboot or Android. As long as it does not boot at all, there's really no point in installing drivers...
You said, Asus had you try a soft reset. I assume that means you tried booting into the bootloader menu with Volume Down and Power but could not get there, right?

That's right. holding power and Vdown did nothing. 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds. Though holding them does sometime get it to stop vibrating.

[Completed] [Q] Phone dead for no reason (Huawei G620s)

Hi there!
So here's the story - this morning I woke up to find that my one month old Huawei G620s (stock, no root or anything) is not working anymore. Just before I went to bed, I set the alarms and left it charging next to my bed with 46% battery. Everything was fine. But when I woke up this morning and wanted to check the time, I realised that my phone is completely dead. And I really mean dead. Usually when it's charging, there's a light in the upper left corner, but it wasn't on. I tried holding the power button for a minute or two, still nothing. Then I tried connecting it to my computer, no results. Since it has a non-removable battery, I couldn't pull that out either and for warranty purposes, I didn't even try. I already took it to my operator's shop and they sent it to the warranty guys since I figured there's nothing I could possibly do if the phone doesn't even recognize the charger.
Probably not a software problem since then the charging light would work at least. But I'm still curious - what the hell happened? Has anyone had any similar experiences or could you at least offer some insight into what could be the problem?

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It's not unheard of that a device just goes dead. It's sounds like that happened to you. It could be caused by a number of hardware failures. It sounds like it's time to use your warranty.

Phone completely died suddenly while being used

As per title, I was using my stock G Flex 2 to browse the internet and had it plugged in the charger and without even a warning, the display shut off and the phone ceased to be responsive. It didn't power off or anything, just died instantaneously and I can't turn it on again no matter how long I press the power button or leave the charger in.
I tried opening the back cover and disconnecting the battery, and reconnecting it but nothing changed.
What does this mean for me? The phone is over a year old already and as such, no warranty is left. It's really disappointing LG would release a phone that dies less than 2 years in use. My previous LG device, an Optimus G, also suddenly died and became a paper weight after the first year. I feel like an idiot buying this phone now.:crying::crying:

did you changed motherboard all that time you have the phone if not thats the problem because if you bought first parts of lg g flex 2 that will happen what varriant you have

No I have never messed with any of the internal components before. It is stock H959 model.
So what does this mean? The phone is gone??

Was using it normally, 70% battery. Suddenly died. Got me scared, thought it had fried or something. The screen kept warm in the upper part, but no response at all.
When I arrived home, around 1 hour later, decided to mess around. Lg Pc Suite didnt recognize it, neither did the computer.
It was dead.
Then, being a bit stubborn, I decided to press both Power and Volume Down (or UP, I dont remember) buttons for a long time. After maybe 40 seconds of pressing the phone came back to life and never had problem with it since.

I tried holding the buttons down in all different combinations for over 1 minute, but nothing happens. I even tried removing the battery and just using the charger to turn on the phone, also nothing happened.
So at this stage, I'm guessing most likely the hardware has failed, maybe the CPU or the motherboard or something. Because it died so suddenly, like a TV when you pull the power plug. Overheating perhaps?

mine still happens but minimized now, it happens like once or twice a day.

Just had the exact same thing happen to my H955, tried all the steps above but it's still not turning on

It's been three days and my phone still wont' turn on, react to charging or USB connection. For me, its probably garbage already...good luck for you though.

I can get the red notification light to come on for a few seconds but it dies after that so there must be some form of life still within it.

you just go to the store with the warranty invoice paper you got from the store you bought it

My phone is out of warranty, and where I am located, I can't find motherboards at a reasonable price.
Can anyone please mail me their extra motherboards, even its damaged, for a small fee?

I got mine from Amazon and I'm from the UK so LG have no authorised service centres here according to their website, says they'll repair it onsite but I've had no contact from them so far.

So after playing around with it for a while, I managed to bring the 0% battery screen up (with a yellow triangle) and left it to slow charge via my laptop. After 20 minutes or so it started booting up as normal and I reached the lock screen which said it was at 5% and charging. However a few seconds later it just cut out and is back to being a brick, I'm guessing the motherboard is the problem?

Mine G Flex 2 (H950) died while i was using it about 2 months ago .Till now no signs of life ....
Tried to charge it ,removed battery and reinserted ,but no use,it won't show any sign of life ...Does not show up on PC when connected with a cable ....:crying::crying:
i had just replaced my battery 2 months ago before this problem ...Seems like i wasted a lot of money on this device .....No warranty more than 1 year since i got it .....I think its some motherboard problem .....
Mine used to overheat as soon as it was booted up ..
Any one knows any cause/solution for it ???

This phone is really faulty. Last month i suffered bootloop so i sent it to repair. It lasted 1 month and now its broken again, after few minutes it self-restarts because it suddenly stops reading SIM card. And its not really faulty SIM card,because it works in my second phone perfectly.
