I'm wondering how they'll implement it, of they'll only put it out as an OS or make special phones for it.

Well we know it's called the Attain... which sucks..
They have the same place booked on the same day as the sgs unveil(june 29, 2010), so based on that I would assume mid july release again.

Really curious as to why the NS4G OTA is not being released. The binaries plus the source are all out. Is it just Google holding it so they can release the GSM version first or Is it Sprint holding it?

Not going to lie but I am really getting tired of waiting for official OTA from Android. Even the damn Nexus line is getting fragmented at this point lol. I really do not get how can Apple release OTA for hundred of thousands of ppl at the same time and Google has to do this in parts. I mean think about it, there are more iphone users than Nexus S users out there....

I doubt Google knows the schedule initially. I'm sure they provided the various carriers with the same files that we were given on Friday and then its up to them to plan a release.
I plan on picking up the S3 at or before launch. Which means I am dumping the Blaze. :-/
What will be the next device you move to?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using XDA Premium App
Im thinking the S3 as well. Or maybe the Evo LTE. Im not a big fan of Sense usually, but from what I've heard Sense 4 is much better. Definitely going back to Sprint though.

So you are wondering which device that people are gonna switch to after the Blaze, which came out like three months ago?

Just meaning that they're expensive. Phone prices are comparable to home computers these days lol.
Also I'm bhurt cuz I started w/ the first mt3g, so I was spoiled by cyanogen early on. Now I f'ed up and
picked the wrong phone. BOO! T-mobile sucks. fully.

I'm holding out hope that one of Google's alleged 5 or 6 different Nexus line of phones will release later this year and that I'll like one of them.
The Galaxy Nexus for example, irks me to no end because it doesn't have a memory card slot. I have a 64g memory card, and there's no way I'm ever downgrading how much music I have on my phone.

Eh, I wouldn't do it. Especially since we're so close to getting fully working ICS ports. I'd do it for a Lumia 900 though.

Basically means no one knows and its best not to ask for an ETA because you might get flamed
I believe that when LG realeases source for ICS on O2x then we might have a possibility of good ICS Roms coming to our phones, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Hope this helped

As soon as the source gets released for the Korean ics version, the devs should have what they need for a fully functioning ics or jb, at least that's how I understand it.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it for the next several months. If there's some glaring issue with your G2x, I'd just keep it.
I would... I had one briefly but the damn speaker was messed up. If I could find one for a deal I would get rid of the g2x without a doubt. This phone has been nothing but problems since day 1.
Not really a big deal but it would be cool to see on our skyrocket. Our developers are so awesome so it wouldn't surprise me to see it. Getting it on nexus 7 and would love to have it on both.

Honestly probably not; and I think it's a gimmick at the moment. A phone entirely controlled by gestures? Sounds great in theory, but not great in practice
I guess I'll find out soon enough on my nexus 7.

one word: BB10, blackbery's new os is entirely gesture drive
but we don't have enough devs for a port of something like this, its massive... I truly believe that unless a device with similar chip set/CPU gets it we likely won't. Don't get me wrong our devs are great, just few
Would be nice, as would Firefox OS but i'm more hot for Ubuntu for Android as that would finally rid me of having a technically unnecessary pc
I use a gesture based OS on my blackberry playbook daily. It is incredibly smooth when done correctly. If Ubuntu does it correctly, then I wouldn't mind having it ported. If it's done badly, then it just wouldn't be worth it.

True, this leads me to believe it won't be as hard as people are thinking to get this to build yes it will involve a lot of work but I'm not thinking its going to be some herculean task.

I was reading it and cannocal says it's supposed to be easy to port. I just hope our phone will be able to run it smoothly. It should but I guess we'll just have to find out.

Working on porting it now actually if git servers ever decide to sync.
I hope it's easy to do. I love android but I've always wanted to try a different operating system. Not gonna make it permanent but it'd be cool to use sometimes. Anyone know if you can back it up with recovery and restore it later? I'll ask over in the nexus 7 forums as well.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
You can if you make a flashable zip. Installing via bootstrapper deletes everything iirc.
Cannocal has already made a flashable zip for the nexus devices. You have to fastboot flash a .img file.
