Acase Multi-Layer CLEAR PET Screen Protector - $4 shipped Amazon.com - Nexus 4 Accessories

I had been wanting a PET screen protector (ie 'clear', or 'glass feel') for my nexus, but I balked at spending $14 on the Spigen one that was available at launch.
I decided to buy a cheap crappy PU protector from XtremeGuard for $2, and wait for a reasonably priced PET protector. It's arrived:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AOH7TB2/
3-layer, japanese-made (not that I care) PET. You get 3 protectors for the price ($4 right now).
The Spigen is $14 for 2.

I really just need to see how much it covers on the screen. Obviously the left and right sides wont be covered but hopefully top and bottom is almost to the edge.

I wish it came with a back protector too

I've ordered trusting the 1 good review on amazon... will let you guys know. I currently use Xtreme and is very happy with it but it does give a weird feeling and I have an extra one laying on the side so i'll try this protector and compare the clarity and feel of it.

Thank you for posting this! I was also waiting out on spending $14 on the SGP protectors.
I will wait and see if this goes edge-to-edge vertically though.

Just installed this protector. All the edges are bubbled despite doing a pretty good job of applying it properly. It does feel just like glass though. Just worried that dust will get under the protector since its bubbled

Micro fiber cloth. Some water helps too.
I think it's bubbling because the protector is slightly too big so it's touching the curved edges

Screen protector

Hey everyone, just got a htc Desire, and loving it. I bought it off of someone and its an unbranded european version. I want to get a good screen protector for it preferably from HTC themselves, but their own branded one is only available in the UK from play.com and I'm in the US. So do you guys know of any great screen protectors I can find online?
Zagg invisible shield.
No Zagg please.
IT's too soft and thick, it's hard to apply. It's adhasive side coming out from it's edges and it' makes dirts to stick on it.
I'm using commuter case oem screen protector and it feels better.

I got one last week and know exaclty what you mean about the sides sticking. mine has pocket fluff stuck to the side. I thought it was fairly easy to apply and fits perfectly though.
I've just bought a cheap silicone case, and another zagg to put under it - so the fluff won't see the sides anymore!!
One word: BRANDO. Have been a great fan of Zagg for a long time; did try Brando once: will never go back! Incredibly clear, smooth as glass, they don't get sticky, not even after months, and they don't get any scratch on them. Simply awesome!
Brando Ultra Clear! probably the best screen protector out there..i have mine for 7+ months and only have some minor scratches.
Martin Fields is really good as well, but gets scratched quicker than brando.
I'm using Martin Fields for about 4 months and yea it does has a few scratches, but not noticeable.
However, the Brando maybe better and is cheaper.

I've had really hard luck with those: first of all i was pissed about the fact that they don't cover the entire screen surface...but the major flaw came in a few days: i started to notice a 1 inch violet/blue halo in the middle of the screen. At first i thought it was something greasy ended there when i applied it, so soon after i removed the protector and tried to clean it, and guess what? It wasn't dirt, it was just the screen protector "fading"! I still have to ask a refound, but i'm just too lazy i guess...in the while i'm using a universal film, but my brando ultra clear is already on its way
I use cheap ones from ebay, great fit, easy to apply and you get 6 in a pack for £1.20, was £1.12 last week when I bought some packs.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120646291516&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Edit: scrap that, just re read and your in the us, still good for Uk buyers though

That's unlucky. I've not had any problems as such. In fact I don't even realise it's on most of the time. The selling point for me was the camera lens protector
Mine one has left about 1mm from the bottom, and a very very minimal gap (0.25-0.50 mm) around the other edges.
Better luck with brando (it does sound like an excellent product).

Have something that is quite the opposite to what you wrote. It's Martin fields screen protector.
It's stiff, thin, no adhesive, you can wash it in warm water (both sides), easy to apply and if you fail you can re apply it again and again and again

[REVIEW] Halo Premium Anti-Glare/Matte Screen Protector

Promised to do a review on this screen protector, so paulo this one's for you. Haha. Well I've had this screen protector on for about 4 weeks now, and I absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend it, especially for those on a budget. A $5.95 well spent.
Pros:
Dry application
Precise cut outs
Great touch responsiveness (Swyping with this bad boy is a breeze.)
No fingerprints
No smudges
Better visibility in sunlight
Looks sexy lol
Cons:
Took me 2 out of the 3 protectors to get it on right, or without bubbles. Maybe I'm just not good at that.
Screen quality degradation (This is expected with a anti-glare/matte screen protector. There is some pixelation, which is really noticeable on white backgrounds.)
You can but it HERE.
Pictures that took me forever.

Thanks for the review. I already ordered mine and just wanted to check out some more images of it. Out of curiosity, what case are you using? Also is there a notice gap between the protector and the lip of the case? The first few images make it seem like it, but the rest make the gap appear small.

I'm guessing you are taking about the difference between this picture of the screen protector:
vs
Well there are two reasons.
1. I didn't apply the screen protector perfectly. You can also see the little bubbles created by dust left on the screen. So I took it off, and tried again.
2. Two different cases. I doubt this affects it, however, considering I switch the cases out per week and the gap between the screen protector and the case doesn't increase or shrink.
I have two cases. The white one the Mercury TPU Nexus 4 case(comes in many different colors), and the black one is the Acase Superleggera Pro Hybrid dual layer Nexus 4 case(also comes in different assortments).
I'm also using this screen protector and I love it too, great price ya can't go wrong with these. ????

I bought this screen protector 3 months ago but never used it, as it looks like a hassle to apply if it takes going through most of them to get one that is applied properly. I just kept the stock plastic protector on mine; maybe after that gets destroyed I will give it a try.

its pretty simple just be quick, and i would day do it in the restroom, less dust in the air. always works for me.
I've installed countless screen protectors for me and friends. For the wet ones, you definitely want to be in a steamy bathroom as that helps settle the dusts. The dry ones, need to be done quickly. You can slip a small piece of tape between the screen and the screen protector to grab some of the dust. The stickiness of the tape beats the static force created by the protector. Not sure of its technical name.
My silliest method was to put the phone in the middle, on top of a fan blowing air upwards. That way it created a space where dust will not be. It worked perfectly.

i`m surprised that there is no bubbling at the edges at the price the Halo is selling... or is it not caught on the picture?
I assume this will be the same for the glossy version?

I mean, I guess there is. But to notice the bubbling you would have to nitpicking or looking in with a magnifying glass (not really). I'd say the bubbling on the side is about .25 cm from the edge. Really slight, and with my case on you can't notice it.
Slightly off topic, but what case is that on your N4 OP?

just bought 2 myself
Received the Glass screen , Very impressed !!!
Before buying the glass protectors I was using a tempered glass I bought off eBay which claimed to be just 3 mm. The quality was pretty nice, but the issue I have with the eBay one was that it was too thick and got easily smudged up and the screen was not easy to clean. The corners were cut very well but:
The I received the one from Xtremeguards and WOW: the quality is incomparable, for much cheaper I got a much thinner screen protector which fits perfectly on the screen, its very nicely cut, rounded on the corners, and it doesn’t get smudgy at all, very clear and easy to clean.
Their customer service is top notch as well, I would certainly recommend these glass protectors at this price
Thnx OP. Ordered mine off of Amazon.

Got mine today. Came in a basic bubble wrap package. For what you pay it's almost expected but idc about packaging anyway lol. After prepping the screen, the screen protector installed just as easily as the high dollar kind. All cutouts are perfect and I'm liking the rounded edges. Also feels very smooth to the touch.
So far I'm very impressed.

I actually had the Luvvitt glass screen protector and messed up the application, so I got the XtremeGuard one instead. I really can't tell the difference between the two except for the cutout. As far as feel goes, they feel the exact same to the touch. I don't think it's too thick: I kind of like my home button recessed with the screen protector. Definitely with the $6. Might get a backup too.

Looking for tempered glass screen protector.

The cases and film based screen protectors are starting to appear on Amazon but I haven't noticed any tempered glass screen protectors.
If anyone finds any (that will ship to Canada) please post the link. The Tab S will stay in the box until I get a screen protector. I may have to buy a cheap plastic one to hold me over.
I wonder if a Tab Pro 8.4 protector would work?
Thanks,
D

My experience with these tempered glass protectors isn't good. For one if you bend the edge at all installing it it will never stick down property again. Also, with some time and wear the edges tend to lift up and once they do you can't stick it down again.
You are better off with just a standard screen protector.

For me it's the opposite. I have applied wet and dry film protectors and I find tempered glass is the best. After years of practice I am able to apply these glass protectors so they have no visual flaws. You couldn't tell there was a second layer on the tablet. Since these protectors are more expensive than the plastic film style and they don't come in multi packs, if you have never applied a screen protector, then I would practise first. But a package of cheap protector and get the feel for the application process.
Exact oppressor here as well. I love mine on the note 3
I'm waiting for a tempered glass to show up too (in canada).
Im using a plastic one until I get a glass one next month from china, i'm also promised one from samsung store once they receive them.
i've seen a few from yahoo.hk, but i'm sure they won't send internationally.
I got this one free from samsung store, the brand is A.R.M, it's a hong kong brand.
Quality is good, but I wish they cover the top of the ear piece, oh and these are not the china one's, all their plastic ones are made in japan.

Review: Spigen GLAS.tR SLIMTM tempered glass screen protector for the LG V10

Okay, I have had this on for about a week now, and I have never been this happy with a screen protector before. I have around ten different android devices in the the house at the moment and most have glass protectors on them. I also am coming from a note 4 with the rounded edges/halo nightmare, I know what a pain they can be as well.
First, the coating on it is top notch, slick and smooth. The rounded edges roll right onto the stainless rails and make the phone feel like it was meant to have a 2d screen.
It DOES cover the front cams which some day will diminish quality. I didn't notice a change, nor do I take QUALITY photos with the front cam.
There is no sharp edges and it isn't catching on clothes or even finger swipes. The fit on mine is perfect.
The wings they provide really do aid in the install. I lined up one side and laid her down smooth.
Two thumbs up from this guy.

There is no sharp edges and it isn't catching on clothes or even finger swipes. The fit on mine is perfect.
The wings they provide really do aid in the install. I lined up one side and laid her down smooth.
Two thumbs up from this guy.

Just ordered mine yesterday and it should be here tomorrow. Spigen always makes great stuff no doubt!

I was thinking of getting the GLAS.tR SLIM and the Slim Armor case. Some, and only some, of the reviews on Amazon have said that there was chipping and scratches on the GLAS.tR SLIM after a week. Did you get it from Amazon or Spigen? And what have your results been so far? Thanks.
I was a little on the fence about getting one, but I'd taken a look at some of the reviews on it, and with it being on sale at Amazon for only $10, I decided to give it a go.
I have to agree with OP across the board. Seems very good so far

Got mine from Amazon, looks as good as the day I put it on. I am careful though.
What some folks don't understand is that you can can take a screw driver to these screens and protectors and not get a scratch. But all it takes is one tiny grain of sand and it's ruined.
Wish we all could stop blaming the glass.
Mine is placed perfect, I have no snags or chips. Uag case helps with that too.

Mine had easy clean layer fading problem even the second day after installation.
Probably Spigen needs to have better QC.
So a little follow up. I have SOMEHOW taken a chip put of the side edge of this screen protector. I can honestly tell you that it had to have happened very easily. I'm pretty easy on my devices, so this had to have happened without much effort. I don't see any marks on the device anywhere at all. It hasn't spidered, so I'll keep it on for the time being
Edit.....
I won't be buying another one, even at $10
I've used Spigen Glas.Tr Nano/Slim way back when they were $34.99 and never had a problem with Spigen glass until the $9.99 V10 one. I got a small crack in mine after being on the phone for 2 days.
I just installed the IntelliArmor Glass HD and I like it a little better then the Spigen. It's a hair shorter on all sides then the spigen but the oleophobic coating is way better.
The only downside is it does not have the "Tabs" like the Spigen for install. Also, it's down the $8.99 on Amazon.
