Hi i am returning my phone to Samsung for warranty purposes and i was wondering since i want to get rid of all binary counts which i already did with the app Triangle Away all i need to do is unroot my phone and then ill be all clean, SO my question is while unrooting my phone through oding by flashing the Stock rom to make my phone unrooted will that still add a binary count to my phone? or will i have to go through Triangle Away again to reset after i unrooted my device? Replies are MUCH appreciated and sorry for the long question xD.
No it will not. Just odin it back to stock and it wont count as a count

Once you odin to stock you can boot into download mode and verify, but as people already said it wont add a count.

My device: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 - 16GB
I'm pretty much very new to modding and everything but I did the rooting from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831152 I used the first method and once I rebooted my device it was freezing and every few seconds it would say "Unfortunately, S Note has stopped working". I restarted my device and the same thing kept happening. Next, I tried using the second method of rooting but nothing seemed to be working still, so I did a factory reset. Everything seems fine now but I think I just want to unroot eveything altogether. Is that possible?

Flash a stock Rom with Odin and don't root.

If everything's working fine now and it's rooted why do you want to get rid of root?
Also, as you used ODIN to flash cf-root you will need to run the triangle-away app to reset the flash counter before flashing a stock rom otherwise your flash counter will be more than the "0" it's supposed to be and you may have trouble if you need to return under warranty...

Well I'd actually would just want to get rid of the clockworkmod root because it increases binary count and doesn't let updates through, as least thats what I read.
You need to use triangle away to reset the flash counter. You can flash the stock recovery after to get stock recovery back but you won't be able to flash a new custom rom using this. You will retain root access though if you want to use TB or change system files....
If you have the cf-root though you can flash when the devs release the update.
You can also go to sammobile and download the update too to flash through ODIN though you will loose root after doing so and will have to have reset the flash counter 1st anyway...
I used the same method to root that you mentioned as the first try. What did after that was to download mobile odin (can be purchased on the play store) download my original firmware from sammobile. Use mobile odin to flash my original firmware, injecting rooting by using everroot in mobile odin.
So I end up on my original firmware rooted. No need to triangle away since still on stock recovery.

Yes but what you don't seem to understand is that the 1st flash you did into CWM raised the flash counter by 1.... If you return under warranty you may be refused and have to pay for it to be repaired fully...
Go into download mode to check, hold volume down and power together, when the samsung logo appears release the power button. When prompted press up volume and you should see if the flash counter reads 0 or 1... Hold down power button until tab turns off to get out of download mode...

Didn't realise he had used the cwm method to root. If that is the case, it may be in your best interest to reset the flash counter.
I used the pre injected stock firmware, so was no need for cwm.

I also have a question about that, if I have used clockworkrecovery to root my device and want to update it with ota ,but keep root. How to do that the easiest way ?

Please can anybody tell problems that May be caused by using triangle away???
Any safety measures???
And is there any way to flash cwm without increasing counter???
I was under the impression that flashing anything in Odin didn't increase the flash counter. When I have to flash things through Heimdall on my Stratosphere, that raises the flash counter, but Odin on my Galaxy Tab 2 usually doesn't.
About Triangle Away, I've used it on my Stratosphere and it worked fine, but I have no need to use it on my P3113 because I have no triangle.

my understanding is the only way to see the flash count on the tab 2 is to go into download mode and read it there, and since thats what you have to use to flash in Odin then I would assume that those are the counted ones, personally I haven't been into it since I flashed CWM the one time (since I follow directions, ie not like those in the thread that flashed it several times because they didn't uncheck the auto-reset).
As to the OP, the risk is if the flash count in the download screen and the one in the app when you open it don't match you could hard brick the devices in a way where the ONLY way to get it working is to replace the main circuit board (this is covered in the triangle away thread, wherever it is on xda), basically ONLY USE IT IF YOU ARE SENDING THE DEVICE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK. There really is no need to constantly reset your flash counter, as the only REAL reason on our tabs is to reset the flash counter so that Samsung can't tell we rooted or did anything like that.

I don't think there is any. It's only for people who want to get back their warranty status so Samsung won't know if the device was ever modded or not. Of course to do that, you will need to go back to stock rom with stock recovery.
I need to send my Blaze in for warranty work. This is what I've done so far.
Reset the flash counter http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955273
Used Odin to return to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591601
Reset to delete data
Right now my Blaze is back to running 2.3.6. I have already told the warranty department that I updated to 4.0 using KIES. Samsung is obviously expecting me to do a reset before sending it in, but I assume that if I was running 4.0 and did a reset it would still be on 4.0.
Should I update to 4.0 before sending the phone to Samsung or should I leave it at 2.3.6? If so, how? Right now I'm getting a message from KIES which says Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via KIES
Should I use Odin to update to a different version that I can download from Sammobile.com? If so, does anyone know which version I should use?
Any help that anyone can offer would be great. I don't want to raise any red flags when I sent it in to Samsung. Thanks.

Do whatever you want... All they do is a root check and boot it once. If even that. They are looking for cracks and other things you may have left out.
I've sent back 4 phones now, all were rooted and customized. Only 1 did I do what you did. The rest I said F it. They didn't care because nothing was wrong with it hardware wise. ||
they just Re-flash their stock on it and go from there. Keep in mind they can always check. Just is super rare. You are good. They don't care what version it is as long as it's stock.
(also that count reseter doesn't reset the custom binary, they still will know you installed a custom recovery)
That's good to hear. I ended up using the August 2012 from sammobile.com then used KIES to update to 4.0. Hopefully everything works out.

Reset counter doesn't reset the custom binary, but Odin flashing a stock firmware will.
Also this belongs in General.

from what I've heard (and take that with a grain of salt, because I have no personal experience, dont hit me if I'm wrong), they dont care if you have a customer recovery, as long as you have Samsung Official binary with 0 flash count (and often times the flash count is ignored).
Well IM also running a stock ROM... You can't tell the difference only way I could get it to ICS to use triangle away since kies wouldn't recognize my device

To get back to full stock .. OHH Before i type this YOU SHOULD LEAN NOW TO GET BACK BEFORE YOU FLASHED IN THE FIRST PLACE.. Just saying.
1.Since you are rooted Install Triangle away..
2. Run Triangle away to reset flash counter.
3. Download odin. If you do not know what it is Search dev forum on how to get and use it.
4. Download the Current FULL STOCK FIRMWARE FOR THE note tablet in your Region.
5. Follow odin instructions on the place you found odin software.
6. You are NOW Totally stock with NO SIGN YOU TAMPERED with your device.
Good Luck
So I wanted to get a spare S3 back to stock so I could trade it in for an upgrade, so I Odin'd to the official 4.3 with NC1 locked bootloader, but forgot to reset the custom binary counter. Is there any way to reset custom binary counter once you are on a locked bootloader? Any help would be appreciated.
Any thoughts?

I have seen people who say you can use triangle away but I have also seen people who said triangle away doesn't work or bricks the phone on the locked bootloader. I am 99% sure it doesn't work and 100% sure you shouldn't try.

There is an option to reset this in Odin when you odin a stock image. And yes do not use triangle away on a locked bootlaoder. It will brick you. Do it in odin!

Not sure if I mentioned it previously, but I don't need to preserve anything on the phone. That being I didn't happen to notice the option in Odin, can you point me in the right direction? I appreciate it. Thanks for all your help.

Its a check box "F. Reset Time" under options.
Just use the vzw repair assistant. It will reset you phone to stock as well as killing off the counter. No need for odin. For the users that just want the custom padlock gone, wanam. Resets the flag to official.

Seeing that he doesn't need to preserve anything his best bet is Odin. The program you mention is unnecessary as it takes much longer and backs up his phone and he does not need to that.

Actually its straight forward, eadier to use, and has a check mark option to back up the phone. Its the same as using odin. I used it with out backing up my phone. Other users reported problems with using odin. Like the process stops. Never happened to me. Also the vzw tool put the phone in download mode. And I have to say for putting your phone back to stock and resetting the flash counter is better then odin.
