Thanks for sharing bro...

Will this allow 24 bit audio playback? Isn't that something that needs to be worked out in the kernel if not already

24bit playback is still not supported by Android Core. May be someday Google will build that...
This app is a DSP (Digital Signals Processor) which alters Sound characteristics on-the-fly to make it more Crip, Clear, Punchy and Surround... like Dolby/SRS and maybe BBE/VIVA (comparision is not required but its kind-of similar )
This app will not alter the Encoding properties of an Audio flie (256 bit, 16 bit, 48000 khz)
I hope you got the answer.

You can add 4.2.1 to the compatibility list.

Let me test and add to compat list :good:
if anyone interested in testing on 4.2.1 based on my test criteria (Sound Profiles), PLEASE LET ME KNOW...

I've been using it on 4.2.1 for about a week but I'll try your criteria just for the hell of it.

Is the app effecting PowerAmp player or EQ? The reason I ask is because I've already EQ my poweramp to the best music listening to my taste.

You can defenitly use PowerAmp build in EQ (I am also a Great Fan of PowerAmp).
Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO will affect the Sound Output (Headphone/Speaker/Bluetooth) system wide. But condition is that other EQ (Standalone/App In-Build) should be disabled or turned off to make this Sound App work otherwise you will have distortion and duplicate processing and resulting in loss of sound clarity and fidelity.
In PowerAmp untick 'DIrect Volume Control'. I bet you will defenitly see the difference and start using Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO
No need to worry about EQ or DSP and this is the one solution for Ultimate Sound Enhancment.

Confirmed works wonder's on 4.2.1 i had beats installed and this blows it out the water.Much appreciate

Tested it with poweramp and i don't really like it. I still love the poweramp EQ.

Two thumbs up!!
I gotta tell ya, this is the best audio engine I've tested on the nexus 7!! Thank-you much!

will have 2 try this out

why don't you put this thread to app section? it's more suitable than here. by the way this app is very good.:good:

System wide sound. Should be working.
Please disable or remove any other EQ/DSP you might have and then try.
Check if you need to change "Settings > Sound > Music Effects > Choose Noozxoide EIZO-rewire™ PRO Series”
Found to be working and compatible with following players:
PowerAmp (100% working)
jetAudio (100% working)
BBE SonicMax Pro (100% working)
Neutron Player 32bit/64bit Generic/NEON (100% working)
NRG Player (100% working)
PlayerPro (100% working)
Stock Player (100% working)

@BSDgeek_Jake : there's a small typo in the app (what I keep noticing). The main screen where u have the 3 monitors for config the second should be "Built-in" not Build-in. Sorry if this is rude.

Inbuilt EQ? Does this matter since we have DSP Manager? I don't think so. A argument for the stock music player is the nice integration into the statusbar, but the rest of the UI in my sight is horrible. It isn't even compatible with changed LCD Density. I feel much more comfortable with the Google Music UI. But that is a personal opinion and thus we can't say this, or stock music, or what else is better.
I've attached the newer version of google music. Extract and simply install. No need to push it anywhere.
EDIT: Upload doesn't work. Everytime the forum says "Upload failed." I'll try later
EDIT2: Upload succeded. P.S. I had two apks when I looked into my download folder one with version 4.0.9.509 and one unnamed that was actually newer: Version 4.1.511
@ taraen
ya...u are right. It depends upon personal opinion but I have opbserved very cleanly that definitely default music player's inbuilt equilizer is really better than any other equilizer that we install in our phone. I usually set this combination in my default music player
euilizer- classic
sound effect- wide
On this combination if u listen music then its really awsome. I tried so many different equilizers but no one matched sound qulity that I got from default music player with above settings.
Edit:
I tried most famous power amp music player. It is really better but not best as compared to default music player in terms of equilizer sound quality.

Audio Stutter Problme with MIUI/CM9/AOKP cROM

I am starting this thread coz I have been observing Audio stutter in each & every MIUI/CM9/AOKP cROM made for i9003.
Tried allmost all kind of popular music player available, but none of the player was able to remove the audio stutter.
I tried all possible remedies, like:-
-Removing DSP
-With DSP
-Without any custom equalizer
-Different bit rate for mp3 files
-Different format s of audio files
I asked lot of times in different forums but got no response.
I think this is a very important thing along with other issues like Backlight/Blacklight/Camera/Battery life/smoothness for a cROM.
I hope to get resolution for the same.
Right now there is no solution at all. Dhiru is working on audio files. But he is more worried about kernel 3.0. For camera, hardware acceleration, smoothness kernel 3.0 is the only option.
This thread should be in general section.

I hope i will get my query answered here thats why didnt post in General section. If its violation of forum rule I will move it.
Use a player with buffer like poweramp and set it to the high valor
I flashed beats audio after installing dhiru' s rom... I'm not getting any audio stutter..may b this is the solution ..or not.. I don't know...finally I'm not getting it

Don't use MIUI launcher. (this is the worst)
Delete MusicFx from AOKP/ Dspmanager from ICS.
Use Instinctiv / xPlay Music player (both are free)
Or flash the attached player.
This will reduce the frequency. Does not completely remove it.
Shutter issue was fixed in Alpha 4.

Now the stutter has gone but, there is a very small break instead of stutter..!!
But anyhow it is way better then the annoying STUTTER sound.
And the interface is great in this player.
Thanx.

The loudness of the stutter is quite low compare to pre aplha 4, but its still there.
Trying different players only reducing the frequency of stutter. Sometimes it is like a break in place of stutter sound.
So this may have something to do with the MP3 decoders. Currently we are using software decoding for all AOSP roms since we don't have a proper functional DSP.
I see no issues with the Audio HAL that might cause the shutter since there is no such issue when dealing with basic sounds like Ringtones or Notifications. Have you tried playing lower bitrate MP3 songs? Does it still shutter?

ur right....!!
I have observed Upto the bitrate of 128KBPS the stutter is very low & with higher bitrate the stutter is very much increased.
But have not tried any MP3 file with the bitrate of below 128kbps, will try to play one to test it.

A workaround:
It's due to the load on the CPU. Generally, the sound chip on a system handles all the decoding and DA conversions, but here, the CPU is taking on the load instead.
Using the "V6 SuperCharger" script and Poweramp's higher priority settings, along with DVC enabled, I've got the stutter down to a minimum (it still stutters when running taxing applications like Chrome Beta). I suggest using the "V6 Supercharger" scripts for now.
V6 Supercharger:

With Regards to ICS (This pertains to keeping the default launcher in memory, I find this useful): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16635544&postcount=2
You need to use a Script execution program such as Script Manager (Free - Ad Supported).
Doesn't need to be executed every startup. It's a One-shot type of script.
I recommend reading through the OP before executing.
Cheers!

Then it happend as a total accident as i was browsing through forums here at XDA i came to know about a player then unknown to me n7 player with custom settings [http://forum.xdadevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=1537938]
i decided to give it a try with custom Equalizer setting 12,2,4,1,4 bass boost off , srs off. for testing by played The Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow my default bass testing song and i was literally blown away. finally after quenching my bass thirst i was finally happy with my s advance.....then............

one day i decided to test newer versions of custom roms for our device and came across pure vanila V5 Build 2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182697 with Awesome Beats & Dolby Mobile..and i paired it with cocore 6.2 kernel ...With Beat's boost preset in ''Moderate'' setting and equalizer in ''Bass booster'' profile i attained ultimate bass niravana even with stock head set...
so guys i humbly suggest you to try these mods and i i guarantee you will feel the difference.. feel free to give your audio experiences and experiments...
PS:Remember to turn down the volume to 80% to avoid distortion if you are using stock or low end headsets
my sincere thanks to all original developers with out whom this experience would have been impossible and thank god for android customization capabilities[/LEFT]

Wow such a long story..nice share bro
When I bought my s advance I didn't really care about audio quality, I don't know if this handheld have own dedicated sound processor or not.
I use a song from beyonce - irresistable to benchmark all google play audio apps which I found playerpro is the best second player, the first best is neutron music player.
Try neutron, you will know.
IMO a handheld that using a software to emulate best audio quality is no match with a handheld having its own dedicated sound processor..I mean a real sound processor separated from main processor.

[Guide]best sounding music setup on note 3

This is my personal setup and it sounds great. Also please consider getting decent - high end earphones/ headset.
As for me im using senheiser CX870 earphones. Here we go
1. Must be rooted
2. Buy poweramp! Yes this is the BEST music player on android.
3. Get viper4android here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
4. Download noozxoide EIZO-rewire pro series here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro
5. The idea is to set v4a as secondary. So in settings > sound > music effects. Set to noozxoide. Then open v4a install the drivers (i use superior) and FX compatible mode set to Compatible.
6. Reboot your phone
7. Enjoy!
Tips with v4a and nooz settings:
You guys really need to experiment. As results will vary,
Nooz:
Lineout >
Deliver balanced natural sound: OFF
Digital preset: AUDIOPHILE
VE engine: OFF
Increase monitor size: LARGE-I
Create V-sur: STUDIO-II
V4a: make sure to enable ui settings to EXPERT
V4fx: ON
Playback gain: ON/EXTREME/4X/0db max output
Viper DDC: ON - beyerdynamic-DTX11iE
Equalizer: OFF (I stick to poweramp eq)
Convolver: ON - HTC beats audio 128kbps
Viper Bass: On
Bass mode - natural
Frequency - 100hz
Bass boost - 6db
The idea is to compliment poweramp's eq and bass with these 2 apps. I recommend setting v4a and nooz as SYSTEM APPS for better compatibility.
If you really wanna be technical, also use Tasker. Create a task which opens both v4a and nooz when headset inserted and kills when unplugged.
Hope thos helps my fellow audiophiles! Enjoy!

The best music setup is through the adapt sound function from the phone settings. But it only works with the stock music player. Everything else just sucks.
V4a is miles ahead of adapt sound. Feels like you just connected a DAC when you use the app lol. Pure audio bliss using the note 3 and the xba h3 with v4A

From a fellow audiophile to another, I gotta say your idea is good, but only half-way. Firstly, the setup you offered us worked best for your headphones, but that does not necessarily mean they will sound just as well on others. Took my 3 headphones for a test drive( Shure SRH-750DJ, AudioTehnica M50X and Beats Studio Wireless). The conclussion was similar among them, even though all 3 pairs are designed for different types of music and with different frequencies and scoops: the instant i installed noozoxide i sensed a huge increase in bass, increase which at high volume caused crackling. Since that happened, adding more decibels from v4a just made things worse (although the 100hz frequency of the lows helped a bit, it was still too much). A steady 3.5db increase is sufficient. The digital preset Audiophile actually sounded baaaaaad on my toys, was only vaguely acceptable on the M50X. Unique II and III made the sound much better. The playback gain in v4a offers just noise, not an actual increase. Better play with a kernel that has fauxsound (managed to turn all my headphones to such insane volumes that they are louder around my neck than the phone speaker). Don't even get me started on the convolver.... As for Viper DDC, I must really say that it is VERY headphone specific. The DTX11iE may have sounded good on your headphones but turned mine into high frequency devices that could crack windows. Each pair of headphones works best with different presets of thr DDC.
All in all, your idea was very good but I really suggest people should play with these settings until they find the sweet spot for their own pair of headphones, since there cannot be a preset to fit them all. Have fun
honestly, installing nooz while having v4a seems a bit pointless to me.... i use v4a with irs samples and other setting tweaked so as to work perfectly with the Etymotic hf5 that i have....V4a is configured properly offers top class results without the need to resort to other apps....dont even need poweramp...besides best audio app i ever came across that offered fantastic sound was neutron music player...now THAT was something...
Im using V4A in combination with PowerAMP, and muat say that sound qualiti is on the high level

Put it in compability mode. I got it to work with normal mode after flashing extreme music mos, but for gplay music just disable Motorola equalizer and put it in compability mode and select it in sound effects.

Thank you! I've been so used to having it easily working on Nexus 5 that I forgot about compatibility mode.
This method also works with a shell command I have in Tasker that allows V4A to run without having to use AwesomePlayer and setting SELinux to permissive.
/system/xbin/supolicy --live "allow mediaserver mediaserver_tmpfs:file { read write execute };"

I don't understand the difference between using this and what the phone already has.

Your comparing stock sound to Viper. No comparison. If you install viper and nothing sounds different then something is wrong. To troubleshoot you can search for viper4androind thread. Or tell me how you installed and will try to help.
For reference so that he knows what you mean by that. Are you saying that Viper has better decoding (ie closer to source) or that it just has a better soft mixer to make things sound better? Ie one of those is better if your BYI DAC and the other is just trying to make the best out of the stock DAC and speakers. Or is it a great app for both of those cases?
It's been a while since I had Viper on one of my phones, I will have to give this a try and report back how it sounds. Thanks for the post!

Actually, he/she is making a very valid point. The audio reproduction on the phone is one of the best on the market and it's no slouch compared to standalone audio equipment.

To take audio and run it thru a bunch of software filters is just going to degrade the quality. Period. You think it sounds better because you're accustom to crappy sounding sound. The only real way to make it sound better is to get some decent headphones and maybe a headphone amp if the headphones have a high impedance.

After thinking about it. Your right. This phone has best sound of any phone or tab I've had. Og droid, HTC rezound, galaxy nexus, Sam g4, LG g2, nexus 7 2013. Also have a g4 which is loud but sounds like crap when pushed. Always used Viper to mask the poor sound quality or volume. But on the other hand your saying as popular as viper is, where just listening to crap. Then we all have some pretty bad hearing. I think it is different for everyone as we all don't hear the same sounds so tweaking is the only way to reproduce what we are missing. I will try running with no viper on my MXP and see if it appeases me. Thanks for the input though I feel this will always be debated.
I am unable to get Viper4Android to work. SELinux is set to permissive, V4A is a system app and AwesomePlayer is enabled. Am I missing something?

I had this problem after a factory reset trying to correct a signal issue. I installed as I have outlines and nothing. So I restored the backup I had with viper running. Didn't want to spend to much time fixing it cause we should have roms relatively soon. Wish I new what else to say. Viper is the easiest to install on a mostly stock Google experience. One thing I can suggest is to turn of amp eq in MXP music player.

Sorry it's at the top of sounds under system settings under audio effects. Not in stock music app.
