[Q] infuse 4G "camera Failed" and music player problems with stocks and custom roms..
Im having troubles with my infuse i was running jellybean 4.1.2 rom and camera flash sometimes didnt work, i decided to change rom to a stock gingerbread but when i want to take a picture i get a warning "Camera failed" and closes. i already tried stock roms, kernels, custom, ICS, JB, GB, i replace the camera "hardware" but i still have this problem... camera only work sometimes when i reboot the smartphone, now im using 2.3.6 stock kernel but i cant use my camera and cant play my music, music that i listened before the problem...
I was reading ALL posts about this but got nothing
i have this same problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619856&highlight=camera
but i didnt get a solution, if you can help me please...

post a logcat if you can. Sounds like it could be a problem with your sdcard.

i have read all posts i can read in 30 hours, i have read people who fixed just updating google maps, desactivating location services, etc... but i have done a lot of things and changed like 15 roms, im looking for a froyo FULL STOCK kernel to my infuse but i cant find it

ok, i have partially solved the problem..
this is how, if you have a stock rom of Froyo or Gingerbread:
You can dial at dial pad *#34971539# and then click in "Phone to CAM FW Write"
As i Read in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710010&page=2
if you have a Custom Rom of JB, ICS or another louncher you can write the camera Firmware following this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951636
Thanks all,
Last Thing, now when i open my camera got a black screen, like if my camera is not working, if i change to video or change back to front camera starts working again, and i can go back to take my picture with back Camera, do you have any idea what can i do now?

not so fast, the camera only worked like 10 minuts after i did this, got the warning again.. please could you help me! ((

Okay, here's what I'd recommend:
Take out your external SD card.
Put your phone into download mode and flash jscott30's return to stock (root) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27283140&postcount=1
Once done, test out your camera.
If it's working okay, shut down the phone and put the SDcard back in.
Test again.
If possible, stick with the rom for a day. Also, make sure you flash a kernel with CWM!
If all is good after a day and you want to move up to 4.2, remove the external SD card before flashing anything. You can put it back in once you're done flashing.

thanks, i sold it

How to fix that?
Thank you Dev Mikey, Love Miui. After many tries, I was able to make it work.
this rom is beautiful!
For those who haven't been able to flash, odin back to stock and root+3e recovery then flash defuse kernel. put miui rom in internal sd card, wipe data/ factory reset. flash miui rom. after it's done flashing, pull battery out. reboot into recovery with 3 buttons and flash miui rom again. Enjoy!

I was on infused 1.60 no kernel change. Put MIUI on sd card. Go to recovery factory wipe and wipe all caches and done.
Anyone know how to get the Car Home app installed? Market doesn't see it as a compatible device. I would settle for "samsung" car home or Google car home but I am not sure how to get it on there.
Google is your best friend remember that.
One you install Car Home (google) the icon to open it won't appears. (don't know why)
Installing Samsung car home will just make shortcuts to google navigation and maps.

You can't install it at all, it's not that it doesn't work. Google Car/Home says incompatible device. Samsung car/home doesn't show up in the market at all.

Stuck on unlocking the SIM card
Hey guys,
I'm currently stuck on the unlocking the sim card. I put my code in to unlock and then it just keeps stating "Inlocking SIM card..." I've seen a couple people having the same issue as me on this rom and haven't seen any solutions so any help would be greatly appreciated. As far as I can see the rom looks awesome!
Thanks again
I have been using this rom since it was released into the wild, and everything has been great (until recently ). I played around with the themes and changed the fonts up a bit, and now after a while of use my characters get all jumbled (some Chinese text mixed with English on top of English). It happens across apps and doesn't go away until I change fonts again. I thought switching back to the default would help, but so far no luck.
Has anyone else seen this (or have a solution)?
Thanks

This thread will get it working......Skip step 2 paste the Libflash.so file in the right place and give it the proper premissions.
i know he says you will have to do this everytime you reboot(but it will not work unless you Reboot after you paste that file)
from what i have came across, this is true on both the august build and September build of miui.
im having a hard time finding my screenshots. they are not located in the MIUI folder on the sd card like the website says they should be. if there is a fix to this or if anyone knows where it puts them that would be greatly appreciated. thanks

[Q] Stock Camera not working in Sensation

Hi, i've bought an unlocked T-Mobile HTC Sensation and was running Android Revolution HD for Sensation gingerbread. my Camera app has suddenly stopped working... I've tried updating to latest ICS from Android Revolution HD 6.5.1 but still the camera is not working. when i start the app... the screen flashes and then again I'm back on the home screen. Strangely, when using application "mirror" it starts the front camera... and that is working fine... and i've tried multiple apps from market for back camera...but its not working using any of them... can you please help me out with this... any help in this would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks

this is weird did you tried other camera apps?
if its still not working then
do a superwipe and flash rom again and see(this method erases data ..so backp them before hand)
Similar problem, if i click the camera or camcorder icon the screen goes black, it either stays black until i take the battery out or it crashes and restarts?! Weird, cant use it to take pics in any other apps either. front camera is fine on skype though...!? everything is uptodate nothing was updated recently?! Anyone
(Im on stock)
This happened to me once when i was stock. I would do a battery pull and it would work again..but finally did a hard restore through recovery and cleared all the caches and that worked. Now im rooted and on energy GB rom and I have not had that problem anymore.
Just flashing a new rom did not help. I actually had to do a factory reset on the ROM as well..in the Setting/storage.
Never ran into this problem

I would suggest clearing the app data.
Have you news. I have the same problem and have yet to find any solution. If you have one I'd be grateful for it.
LuckyD
Go to Task Manager>>Advanced>>All apps>>Find the Camera app and select it>>Force Close if it is running & then Clear Data.
This should fix it.
If not, get this app. Go to primary and secondary camera, & check if they both work.
If it works, then there's a problem with the stock app.
If not, there is either a problem with the camera or with camera access.
I would suggest reflashing your current ROM, since this seems to solve issues, many a time.
Try installing another pyramid
have you tried to download a special or customized pyramid from the sensation android development department and then tried out your 4g??? a customized pyramid + tweaks will allow the htc camera to work because the htc family usually creates htc's like as if they were real babies.. the htc's adapt to you and then little by little all the problems like "over-heating reset, camera faults and random keyboard touches" are common problems with the htc... installing a different pyramid or returning it for another new one will usually fix this..

As far as I can tell, your camera is not being detected.
I would recommend that you do this:
1>NANDROID backup
2>SuperWipe (it can be found in this post at the very end)
3>Re-install ROM (Remember to check MD5 before installing)
4>Check if the Camera works.
If not, then Super Wipe and restore your previous backup.
If it works, get back to me. (PM me if I don't reply)
If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

Just to be sure, when you say a "full wipe" you are including the system partition?
If all else fails, flash froyo PD15IMG.zip. If you used gfree to root, you won't lose S-Off. If you used root.sh it's still no big deal, because you can easily re-root. If it doesn't work on pure stock froyo, you likely have a hardware issue.
Yea, its almost religion for me to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik and format all partitions except sd card at least twice before I flash a Rom. I know ones have a preference but I'd try using 4ext. You have all wipe options in one place instead of having to jump around to other menus.

I do mean system partition and even copying sd and formatting it and then recopying files back. I just did the PD15 2.2.1 and still its blank.. I did however try flashlight which works perfectly fine but camera just goes blank and video also. tried using pudding camera app but still. so my camera is no more? maybe a file missing somehow? what are the necessary camera related files thats needed? Also why isn't skype working for me its just allows me to enter my info and then loads forever ( i know its side topic but i use skype since i dont have alot of minutes DAILY 24/7)

Sounds like you're screwed. If your camera won't work on anything, including pure stock, it's not a file.
Hopefully Jack_R1 will see this and help you out. He'll know.
Does skype do some kind of camera check that it's getting hung up on, maybe?
Awww man just when I'm on budget mode might need a new phone ugh. Thanks alot for the suggestions though I thought those would have worked for sure. I don't wanna give this phone up had it for barely a year now I guess it's time to find the next best cheap phone
Um idk if Skype is doing a camera check but doesn't this phone not support FCC on Skype by default until u allow it? Either way I'm def screwed
Edit: your right it was doing a cam check but I flashed darkunicorn 2.5 and it gave me the option to choose whether or not enable or not so I enabled first and it did hang but I cleared data forced close and didn't enable it and boom Skype works! Now I can live without a cam for another week lol thanks alot

you may not be able to use cameras from other builds or devices.
you may have to wipe the whole system/data/cache/dalvik in cwm and flash the rom over again
if that doesn't work, you have to flash back to stock and start over.

Well when I was running the Gingerbread stock rom, I could go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and see that the Camera App and Camera Firmware App both said 0 Bytes, so I guess that means they were missing entirely. I am running the Slimbean Jelly Bean 4.2.2 rom right now and neither of those apps show up.

[Q] Infuse ICS

Sorry if this is a repeat but I can't seem to find a similar problem. After staying on froyo for 2 years my phone started to slow down and give random application errors. I decided to try a new rom for the first time. I tried installing clockworkmod recovery and almost bricked my phone. A flash with gingerbread using odin got a working os on my infuse again. This came with red recovery already installed. For 2 weeks I used this rom and found that my dataconnection was super slow, random app errors and almost no wifi reception drove me to try something else. I flashed gingerbread bootloaders to get rid of the rainbow recovery(literally could not see a thing in recovery) and factory reset, cleared cache and flashed CWM 9 for infuse this post. This rom is running fast, data and wifi are great but there is a serious error. When I make a call, after selecting the number to call the screen goes black and unresponsive. No amount of button pushing will bring it back. Also you can see that the IR light on the front of the phone next to the phone turns on. The call is made and when the recipeint hangs up the phone will come back. If there is no cell signal this does not happen, the call screen normally appears and you can cancel the call. I have cleared cache, wiped data and dalvik cache, then reflashed this rom and the problem persists. I also downloaded a 3rd party dialer which displays the same symtoms. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a better rom to use? Any suggested workarounds would be nice. I would just like to get my phone back to a stable working os as I use it for android development. Some things specific to my situation: I live in Poland now. My phone is unlocked from ATT&T to work on european networks. This was working fine on froyo. I would post this on the developer thread but I don't have permission to do so yet. Thanks in advanced for any help/suggestions.
Go to delopment section and find cm10.1 by scott hart and odin back to stock with root/cmw follow instruction exactly the way the are coming from stock and should be good to go. And install GB bootloaders it will take care of not seeing recovery clearly and u can find how tos in stickies in delopment(I think) but do or research before u ask a lot of question and post bug. Its a good idea to read last 3-10 pages on a tom or going to install to know if there are any major issues or bugs.

Thanks for the help. I did try a different dialer which I downloaded from the market, but it had the same problems. I have already moved on to Jelly Bean and so far everything is working great. One problem that I still have is my Titanium Backup of my contacts wont work. This happened in ICS as well. Titanium says it works and suggests a reboot. After rebooting still no contacts. Unfortunately I didn't have these contacts synced with my Google account. Any ideas on how to extract the contact information from titanium and import it to the contacts app? I know the backup is good, I was able to use it when I updated to Ginger Bread.

I've got an idea, I think my problem is because I didn't make a fresh backup after I flashed ginger bread. I think the 'contacts' app must have changed database formats between froyo and ICS. If I were able to take that backup file and load it into an AVD, then restore my contacts and export them to my gmail account I think I could recover them on my phone without reflashing GB to do a fresh/compatible backup. Do you think it's possible or would most likely fail. I've never tried to bring files into an AVD but I do know that I have internet connectivity while debugging apps. It seems possible that I should be able to send files to the AVD as well.
