I prefer Pulse and Flipboard

Pulse has this awful lag when scrolling, it might be because I didn't use background sync.
Taptu has a web reader too, not only for saved articles but for all.
Flipboard doesn't support offline reading.

Tried them all, and always back to greader :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...5ub2lubmlvbi5hbmRyb2lkLmdyZWFkZXIucmVhZGVyIl0.

1) Reader HD or JustReader (+ UI + Features)
2) Feedly (+ UI)
3) Press (+ UI - Features)
4) gReader (+ Features - UI)
PD: Downloading Taptu to test!

Press and Flow Reader, although Flow Reader's UI doesn't adapt as well to tablets.

NU.nl in the Netherlands

There is no other news or RSS app than greader, if you ask me. I can't believe how good it is. Any feature you could possibly want is there and it works without any problems. It's so good that I can't wrap my head around why anyone would use anything else. I've tried nearly all of them and I always come back to greader.

News Republic is in my opinin way better than FLipboard.
Not many people know it but its a really sick with a great widget !

Reader (HD) - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ageofmobile.reader&hl=en
Been using it for a couple years. Looks good, works perfectly, has all the features I want, and the dev's are pretty responsive.
side note: I don't understand how the blogs can fawn over a new app with a 'feature' that Reader has had for a year.

I was on my computer when I saw this thread. Grabbed my phone and opened xda just to agree haha.

Xda like everyone else, weather bug elite, tech buzz, amazon app store, google music beta, poweramp, avsforum, zedge....those are my most used

In all seriousness the best Apps I couldn't live without would be SwiftKey x, handset sms, dolphin hd browser, quadrant(lol), xda, rocketdial, all my emulators and lastly beautiful widgets although it's not totally necessary if you run eclipse since its got gs2 Apps like accuweather which look better imo.

hockeybpr25 - First off, you may want to try ChompSMS instead of Handcent. They are both good, though. In the TW Messaging app, turn off "Auto-retrieve" and "Notifications".

blarrick - +1 on SwiftKey X! Been using SwiftKey ever since they started the beta a couple of years ago. [email protected] near telepathic, it's scary!
Regarding the Dolphin HD Browser, I used to <3 it a lot, but I've moved on now to the Miren Browser. Miren is free, and it seems like their UI is much better thought-out. I seem to get stuff done easier in it. You should give it a shot!

Hey, rand4ll - I was curious about Weather Bug Elite. Does it support a scrollable widget for multiple cities? I'm really looking like crazy for a weather app that supports a scrollable widget. The only ones I know about are wrapped in various manufacturer's UI (like HTC Sense and MotoBlur).
Now, on to my apps:
Agenda Widget, Awesome Drop, Barnacle Wifi Tether, Beautiful Widgets, Bloat Freezer, Calendar Snooze, ChompSMS, EasyTether, FlightTrack Pro, Happy Hours, KeePassDroid (KeePass is on everything I own with a CPU), Miren Browser, Mr. Number Caller ID, MyBackup Pro, Note Everything Pro, Our Groceries, PhoneMyPC, Plume, Pure Messenger, RealCalc, ROM Manager, Root Explorer, Remote Notifier, Sipdroid, Shazam, StayAwake, SwiftKey X, TapaTalk Pro, Team Black Hat, TripIt, WinAmp, and uTorrent Remote.
Whew.
Cheers!

You could also just do this
1) Open Handcent
2) Hit the menu button
3) Select Settings
4) Application settings
5) Default Messaging Application.
6) All(SMS & MMS)
Both work though

Twicca is barebones, and customizable. Runs really smooth. Allows you to only install the add-ons you actually use.

I use http://goo.gl/d4gHQ
i've tried a few, but to me, tweetcaster is by far the best and easiest to use. Tons of features.
Tweetdark is pretty nice. Simple nice UI and works well.
I use the official app. It's cleaner than everything else. Plume is pretty good also, but I had an issue where the text box wasn't visible when my keyboard and predictive words popped up. The official app appropriately shifts everything up, so nothing disappears.
I use Plume but I like inline previews pics and Twitlonger
tweetdeck is better for me, it just keep it simple and has twitlonger and more
Can't figure out for the life of me how to view replies to a tweet in Twicca, does it not have this function? You can see what I mean by going to Twitter.com on a desktop PC and clicking any tweet, a nested area opens up showing replies.
Tweetcaster is my favorite because I can customize it.

Flipboard For Android Available!

For those of you that don't make it out of the One S forums...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644212
Runs fine on the One S! Not sure it will make me switch from Google Currents though, Currents works pretty well since the last update.
Sent from my HTC One S
Yes, it does run fine on the S but like you prefere Google currents, since new update it runs really smooth on the S
I don't use Currents, but FlipBoard is much better than the official Facebook app, hands down. It actually loads photos, every time. The same can't be said about the FB app.
Although, I cant figure out how to customize my news sources, or types of news (Tech, Stocks, Regional etc.). Any help?

Nor the xda app to be fair.
Customization is done on the last page by touching the 'More' panel and then 'Edit'.
Hope it'll be available for tablet soon!

How often do you use multi-window?

Wondering how many people use the feature, or its just something nice to have..
reading/web browsing + messaging mostly.
watching video/messaging
checking fantasy sports/messaging
i been using it for everything just because i can. Until i get bored of it
I also mostly use it for messaging while browsing.
Ohhhhhh OK so dumb question. How do I turn THAT on? Sounds neat!

Need to have a ROM that supports it, like
SynergyROM w/Multiwindow r169
I've been using it more and more. Just now drafted a Tapatalk post while looking up info in Chrome.
In the morning, I'll open Gmail and K-9 Mail in split windows on landscape. It's nice to go through the bulk morning emails.
Spotify and Facebook
Google Task Organizer and Biz Calendar
Wikipedia and Evernote
Just to name a few. It's fun to experiment with and find good matches.

doesn't the keyboard then take up half the space? but yeah I see its uses forsure. can imagine it being more utilized on a bigger screen like note2 or tablet.
I prefer not to use it
I like using it while using pandora and notepad, jotting down songs while I play ps3! And also use it for youtube or music applications and messaging.

Multi-window in its current state is too clunky. A gesture-based system would be more pleasant
I personally don't find it useful on a phone without a styles.

Only fun to brag to my iPhone friends.

The Note 2 has the same screen resolution as our S3's, therefore it really shouldn't be much different.

Twitter Apps with Interactions

What Twitter apps, other than the official Twitter app, support interactions, like showing you who retweeted you, favorited one of your tweets, etc.?

Falcon Pro got rid of interactions a couple months ago because of Twitter API changes. As far as I can tell, since I use Plume, I don't see interactions anywhere other than retweets of me. It's a damn shame Tweetcaster is a hideous app though. Doesn't look like they have updated their UI since the Gingerbread or earlier days.
