I just called HTC and had them send me out a new battery door. I was having problems with the signals. Have any of you had these same problems? If so have Yall got a replacement from HTC and did it fix the issue?

nope, haven't had any reception/signal issues at all.
I believe the death-grip affects your wi-fi signal. When I move my phone to landscape mode and hold it as indicated in some videos, momentarily a bar goes down in my wifi signal but nothing like an interuption. It doesn't drop (and reconnect) wifi either.
It seems to be a hit or a miss with these phones

This is why I'd really like it if someone who replaces their battery cover could post before and after wifi signal strength from the same location. It is possible that there has been a redesigned battery cover with a better antenna placement.
I only lost 1 signal bar so i think its normal - like other phones
I am currently having a HUGE problem with death grip. So bad that it drops my WiFi calling when im texting in landscape even from about 15 feet from my router. I am going to call HTC tomorrow and request a new back cover just because its a free step I can take to try and fix it.
seems like HTC have a problem with this model
i have to wait 7 days for my Sensation to come from service
then i will see what is the next step... media, solicitor .... we will see
signal its rubish anyway

ok... so after reading your post I decided to test it out. My router is on the 2nd floor in the study. I used landscape mode to send a couple of emails and texts from the first floor and outside my home. The signal dropped a couple of bars each time and recovered. Didn't drop the wifi signal for sure.
I think it is still a problem and HTC needs to get a fix out. Don't know if it will be a f/w or h/w but it needs to be out. I guess if everyone having this issue raises enough hell, HTC may act sooner.
The 4g phones seem to have a different placement of the wifi antenna and does not contain a death grip like problem due to this reposition.
You can higher the wifi signal (battery usage) in the wifi advanced settings.
Doesn´t help anyway?
All sensations will do this. Rooting the phone and installing custom ROM will fix the issue. Before if i placed my hand over the top of the phone, wifi would drop, sometimes even lose signal entirely. Now after root and ROM, it doesn't even drop one bit.
I was about to return my phone due to this issue, i am glad I waited a bit.

My phone is rooted (s-off) with all bloatware removed. Its still on stock ROM though.
Since we have S-OFF now, the custom ROM's for sensation have started to flow. Just waiting on those ROM's to be stable before deciding on which one to use.
BTW which ROM are you using!!!
Changing the back cover will make no difference. I got a replacement and saw no difference at all.
When I would go into landscape I would lose 1-2 wifi bars, but after I flashed Android Revolution 1.1.6 and kept the stock radio I started only losing 1 bar if any at all.

I am using:
InsertCoin Sense Android 2.3.4 STABLE 1.2
I have tried them all. This one is by far the best for everyday use.
Everyone complaining about death grip. It's there on all phones, it will go away with a root and custom ROM.
I haven't experienced this at all. compared to my buddies iphone 4 where there is a serious death grip problem any drop in signal on my sensation is moot.

I've heard that it does, but I'm still waiting on mine to arrive. We have FAR FAR lower signal strength with this phone than with our other phones (motorola cliq / mytouch 4g's)
I just checked and I'm on zero bars right now. I usually have 4 bars right here with my other phone. It's rediculous. Holding the phone reduces my signal strength by ~40-50%. It can completely lose signal, right under a tower (in visual range) if you hold your hand flat against the back.

For many people, this is not the case. I know there are different revisions for the back cover. I think it is due to that.

Did your wifi situation improve after u got the new cover? my device sucks.. it drops all the way down to zero.. thinking of getting the g2x instead
Signal is good when phone is turned to 2G only, so this appears to be a firmw-/software issue rather than a battery-cover issue.
I had the same problem when i first recieved the devie but as you say custom rom sorted that
Has anyone experienced issues with Xoom Wifi with Wifi strength after Jellybeans update? It seems that the wifi strength in Xoom is significantly less. I've confirmed by holding another tablet side by side, and the other one shows 3 bars whereas Xoom barely shows one.
I did notice that older software releases had issues but those updates don't quite apply for Jellybeans. Any pointers are much appreciated.
Now that's weird, I notice more WiFi strength in JB compared to ICS. I'm using TeamEOS nightly builds for MZ601.
Well I believe if you want more WiFi strength you can always edit the kernel to give out more voltage to the wifi interface. Of course you will need to compile it in the correct environment as well or else it won't boot on your device.
never noticed that on mine, always had great wifi signal strength, ics, jb, EOS, CM, etc
wow just realized this is my first thread lol
anywho, I've been encountering a problem where my wifi speeds become very very slow when Bluetooth is enabled (connected or not connected). Tethering from my thunderbolt I will get speeds greater than 12 mbits down consistently but as soon as I enable Bluetooth on the tab the speeds hover around 1 mbits....
This has been the case for cm9, cm10, and the latest AOKP build 4 not sure about stock. Had a hard time finding others with the problem since the key search terms are so generic..."wifi" and "bluetooth" I did however find these 2 threads which can be used for reference:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895383
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423180
Just looking for others to confirm if they encounter this problem with the tab 2 or not and work from there. cheers
Your situation sounds like a weird scenario, your splitting the power of your radio by activating Wi-Fi and Bluetooth at the same time. It would make sense that you would have your output reduced if you divide the power coming out of the radio.
Maybe if you explain exactly what your trying to do with your tab and phone, you may get better feedback.
Pp.

I've noticed the wifi strength in the notification isn't always accurate. Most times it will indicate that I do not have a signal when, in fact, I do. You can see in the screenshot that the download speeds are fine, and everything works as it should but the wifi signal definitely shows that it's weak. This was while sitting right next to my router. Also, my laptop and ipad show full signal strength in the same location. I get a full bars sometimes, usually only for a few minutes when I restart the device. This is a rooted razr hd running jelly bean, btw. It's not a big deal to me, but it is a minor annoyance and I'm curious to see if it happens to anyone else.
I have the exact same issue. I can be right beside my router and it will show weak signal. Then when I am not paying attention the signal is full. Minor annoyance but I would this fixed...using ics 4.0.4

Hey,
Sorry if this has been asked/answered before -- search is currently unavailable. Anyway, I notice that in CM 10.1 my phone's signal on Verizon is displayed with only 1 bar, and sometimes none (-110 dbm is the actual value). On stock I would get 1-2 bars in the same location, unfortunately I don't have the actual signal level from the stock ROM. Everything is working, but it seems the signal is lower on CM, has anyone else noticed this?
I've looked around on the forums at other devices and the general consensus seems to be that the stock roms are padded to make it appear as if you have more signal, so I don't think it's a problem -- just wondering what others have observed.
Thoughts/suggestions?

Yep, noticed the same thing on my XT926. I run the Eclipse AOSP Rom for Android 4.2.2 and I'm lucky to see signals between -70 dbm and -99 dbm. Most of the time it's negative triple digits.
Same
I'm seeing the same thing, I'm running the Avatar ROM (CM10.1) and mine keeps switching between 0 and like -104 dBm, but call quality seems perfectly fine. Not sure if you tried this, but go to the "Testing" phone info menu, enter *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer and click on phone info. That gives you a more real-time signal strength. Just because I'm curious, I might load up my stock image tomorrow and see what what that does to it...

Yeah I did do the 4636 thing to get some #s. As you state, data/phone connectivity seems to be unaffected even though the singal bar is low (or even empty!). I wonder if there is a patch that we can get for CM to "fake" a higher signal? The low meter doesnt bother me -- but some non techy person might be quite perplexed
