Hi folks,
did some game design as a passtime while recovering from a broken foot and need some feedback on it. The game is called "Pocket Bandit" and licensed under the terms of the APL 2.0. It does not contain ads.
PocketBandit is a retro style, three reel slotmachine game with comic optics. You can get it from GooglePlay or from my own website for sideloading.

Very simple, Maybe add some sounds? Liking the old style design. Maybe add more game options?

With "more game options", do you mean more payout schedules or did you have something entirely different in mind?
Thanks for the nice and simple game. Love little projects like these. Wish I didn't have a hard time learning how to code, i'd be making my own apps. I do icons/images and can make high quality sounds through FL Studio if you ever wanted to work on a new project in the future.
I added an attachment of some quick examples. I made a few icons and the Pocket Bandit Logo similar to what you guys did, also added the .xcf files.

Hi, thanks for the graphcis, but I'm afraid i can't use them as they completely clash with the style of the rest of the artwork. On a technical note: I'm using Linux, so 7Z and XCF are not formats, I can work with very well. I need SVG files that contain the graphic elements drawn for a 480x320 canvas with no safe frame around them.
Never heard of FL studio, but PocketBandit could sure use some more sounds: a different one for braking the wheels, a sound for sliding the gamble screen, maybe a button click sound and something for the coins.
simple, but funny hehehe
downloaded it, played it for 5 minutes but after this i get bored.. more gameoptions and modes would be great. For example 3 lines not one.
haha nice game
I'm currently completely overhauling this. Mainly with the aim of getting rid of anti aliasing, but if anyone has a good idea for a new feature: bring it forth. Multiple winlines is on the antilist, though.
Great work good start expecting a beta update

Hi, just wanted to brag a little about a new wallpaper I made.
It uses a little of demoscene-like graphics techniques to generate images and animations that I personally enjoy a lot - but I'm yet unsure whether I'm the only one.
For those graphics-coding-inclined: it makes a heavy use of pixel shaders, basically computing distance functions for combinations of simple shapes (http://www.iquilezles.org/www/articles/distfunctions/distfunctions.htm) and then texturing the surface with these shapes replicated. Although the word 'texturing' is used in a loose sense here, since there is no geometry of the tunnels and grids that you can see in the app - everything is happening in pixel shaders, issued on quads covering all or part of the screen and the 3D-like surfaces are obtained through coordinate transformations.

As you can see on the image, the customization options allow to obtain very different looks, so I decided to release a series of free wallpapers each showing one distinctive preset from the full app. The first one is Neon Tunnel:

Let me know what you think about it.
I'm happy to answer any technical questions. I'll probably do a technical write-up on my blog soon, whether anyone's interested or not.
Cool wallpaper! I am glad that Magic Fluids and Waterfloo now have a successor. Will there be a regular app gui in the future?

Thanks! There might be. I thought about making a separate app that would allow the user to control the shape-morphing process and design the images for yourself. But if the wallpaper doesn't take off, I might just slap the regular app mode on top of the wallpaper and call it a day.
There is some activity in your app's thread, in case you missed it.
I'm also a fan of your apps! The patterns in the wallpaper look beautiful. I want to program sth similar, and play around with it.

With a regular app gui you could maybe offer other ways to play around with the shapes .
A 3D volume renderer visualizing shapes would be cool. But that might be computationally too expensive for Android devices.
If it aint hilly, than it's just silly

Recently I developed and released an iPhone/Android game. It is simple yet challenging 2d platform game with lovable characters, pretty graphic landscapes and good banjo sounds. Well it sounds like many others...
EXCEPT it has a cool feature to customize characters with your or somebody else head directly from camera. All who tried it found it interesting and kids alone love it. I guess you will find it interesting too if you give it a try.
the website is
www.HillPiggy.me
If you are willing to try it here are the links where you can get it
PlayStore & AppStore
Your suggestions in improving it are more than welcome
If you find it interesting (I hope you do), please do help me share it
Wish you very best for holidays.

Nice, this game is super silly and funny! The idea that you can take a photo for each of the main characters is great I think it would be cool that after taking the photo, you could share a personalized screenshot with these two special characters and send it to your friends with one click
I recommend that you do a little more work on the player physics. making something look a little more realistic will get you a long way.
Hahaha, funny game man! Cheers!
The part that you can put your own picture in the game is great! What are your plans for the future versions?
gj anyways
Thank you guys for support. Last few days I was celebrating so I am now suffering + I was trying to promote game in spare time and haven't read messages earlier.
I was thinking about making physics a little fluid (as suggested) but I think it would be wiser to expend some other features, add some more endings, make Billy a bit slower, also was thinking about voiceover, maybe tutorial before running start - don’t know what to do first.
During development, I hit a wall trying to set up a screenshot feature on IOS like on android. I get it to take a shot but I can't make it open in Photos. I spent 2 weeks on trying to make it work and finally I give up and made a help page showing what buttons you should press to grab screenshot. I don't want to start something similar and spend too much time on it.
One more thing, I am using Unity to develop and it’s so funny how camera is acting in IOS so much different than in Android. I had to make a shooting page portrait on iPhone and landscape on Droid to make it work.
Hi,
I am hobby/evening+weekends programmer and I would like to present my first game called "Ready Steady Teddy" - get it for free from Google Play.
Here is a short game-play video (I hope you will like my fiancee's amazing acting):
And some screenshots:

In the game you need to tap two tiles with the same character on them - e.g. two tiles with eyes. Once tapped (and some special conditions are met which you can read in the instructions about) the tiles merge to form a new tile with more details - e.g. nose, ears, body etc. On the first level, as the name suggests, this eventually lead you to create a teddy bear, but the game has additional three levels with different animals and board shapes. My (very biased) friends really liked so it would be great to get some more objective feedback.
I have built it using LibGDX - I wanted to use an engine that was as low level as possible for my set of skills, before I move to the likes of Unity (if I have to). LibGDX proved to be really straightforward and I would have definitely used it for this purpose once more.
Current planned enhancements (if only I had more time!):
- Sound effects and maybe background music
- Leaderboard via Facebook
Thank you very much to all that would give it a go!
I look forward to hearing your comments/questions/threats/everything else!
Cheers,
Chris
Sharing on Facebook
I was wondering what is the best way to persuade others to share the info about the game on Facebook. Currently I am using a technique that if someone posts a link and this link is clicked three times, a bonus level will be unlocked. What do you think about it?
Sharing in general
Currently when user clicks share a whole bunch of possibilities are displayed such as email, twitter etc. I was wondering whether anyone users anything else than Facebook. Maybe it would be useful to limit the possibilities to make sharing easier?
Has anyone downloaded it? If not, why - does it look uninteresting, boring, not your favourite genre?
Finally!
Added a gameplay video and direct link to Google Play - should be easier to find it. Many thanks to all who tried it, it really means much to me.
*bump*

Very interesting project. Add more games.:good:
Nice game! I have never played anything like that, but I really like it
Simple and minimalistic gameplay, love it. I really like the idea of few smaller games in one, so you can update this game quite often with a good reason, not just 'minor bugs fixed' thing : )
Simple and nice!
Thank to all so nice comments. Please tell me which games I can add to my collection.
well done
i highly recommend you add a gameplay trailer!

You can make a short video of the gameplay of your game, Upload it in Youtube and link it to your game in Google Play publish! This way, a user wont just open your link and leave not knowing what the game is about....instead he will have a look at the video and knows what to expect and then install the game! This can also lead to user keeping the game longer on phone since she/he knew exactly what she was installing! Hope I make sense now
I love this app, but is very difficult for me LOL
I just love the artwork & its simplicity. Congrats to you and anyone that helped you with this!

Shape Escape
Quick, Fun and Simple Game. Open and play.
Download from the Play Store
Shape Escape is a fun little game, where the object is very simple: Escape. All. The. Shapes. for as long as possible. Designed to be very intuitive and easy to grasp, yet challenging if you want so.
No irritating "popping" Ads, not every game and not at all (So annoying!). You can choose however you want to play this game and to beat your best scores.
What's Inside?
Gameplay
Enemies are bouncing off walls trying to get you, while you control your player by dragging it from one spot to another. You can take Powerups to help you achieve a better score, but know there's a chance you'll not get what you wished for! (Don't blame us )
Design
Vivid but not too hard on the eye. Simple and crisp graphics. Our goal was to create something nice to look at, but still very easy to get along with.
Shop
Unlock great skins to customize your player and your game. New skins and surprises are coming out periodically, with different themes and designs.
Overall
When we wanted to create Shape Escape, we had one thing in mind - make a game that people will love, and make it simple to understand so whenever you have a minute or two to spare, chilling in front of the TV or anything, you can open it and play in a second. Share scores easily to friends and enjoy it.
