Bro great

great job...:good::good:

Where`s the download link

Update info about recovery loop
-I don't know what reason make CWM ruin boot flags so Device will boot to recovery instead of normal boot.
to minimal the chance you should manually mount /system
-Will test on new update script. The old script marks as error in cwm error log...

Tried using custom graphics source for recovery ?

Nice waiting for it for so long....btw shudnt this be in original development section

So,I can start to install roms and other things with this recovery but just mount /system before do it?
Happy New Year!

I tried this for a Lenovo IdeaTab A2109 to try and build a touch recovery. It already has a unofficial cwm recovery non touch, so I used that as the recovery.img. It put out 2 recovery.img's. One was a recovery.img and the other inputreovery.img. I'm not sure what one I should flash or if I'm supposed to flash both. Would it put out errors if it didn't work?
Thanks for this post and any help you can give.

If it gives error like black screen or volume key unfunction means it is not compiled properly but don't worry your device won't brick and u can revert back ur recovery by placing original.img on the root of phone storage and flash through mobileuncle tool..all the best

Three Questions and I'm gonna try this out:
1. If the CWM recovery I build from CWM builder doesn't work, can I flash back the stock recovery by Mobile Uncle Tools, I mean won't it brick the device, can I still boot? I have a MT6577 device.
2. Does the script provided here backups up the stock recovery on Ice Cream Sandwich?
3. What else does this script do? Backup the whole phone?

Okay, Thank you.
I will try and update you on this.
Edit: After flashing recovery, I got blank screen in recovery mode.
thanx mate , really a helpfu guide i have Xtouch x714 with Allwinner A13 chip
before i tried many A13 CWM none of them worked not even boot , they nearly damage my tablet
thank god there is Phoneixcard i was able to revive it .
Anyway , your methode of getting the recovery.img from [gscript] did not work for me , it kept give me errors
even though it shows 100% complete
so i used another method to get my recovery.img , hence my tablet is an Allwinner A13 chip, so
i used [ Rom Dump ] which a small and powerful tool run it in Windows from [ http://www.techknow.me ]
it uses ADB so u have to be rooted and enable developer mode in your device and have ADB drivers in your PC
it backup image of your system and boot.img , recovery.img and data
so i used the extracted recovery.img in the site you provide me and i got my new recovery.img and flash it to my tablet via NovoTools 1.0
and i test it , it works like charm , thanx again mate really helpful
step 2 no working....website down?
Black Screen
When I flashed recovery made through it, it gave me a black screen Is there any way to fix this??
the online one is not working
i tried twice for micromax a84... i got the CWM recovery and flashed it via mobile uncle tools...but it didnt work
?
after hitting "build" it states
your build has been queued.The
build id is
9b42b141e21a35c4007c250f45ab2039
continue to the build sever
view the current build output
when i hit either option i get "HTTP ERROR 404.
can anyone else see my build id and if so can you download it and link it to me via PM.
or what can i do to get my image

You need boot.img and system.img to make a cwm flashable zip.
In the following thread I've explained how to pull out the stock ROM.
Factory ROM Backup for MT65xx via MTK Droid Root & Tools For BackUp & Unbrick

The following thread is used to make cwm flashable zip.

Let me know if you face any difficulty.
If you want me to create a flashable zip - share me the links of system.img and boot.img with the following output.
Download terminal emulator from playstore.
Open it.
Type su
Then cat /proc/partitions
also cat /proc/dump_charinfo.
Thanks buddy but as i said cwm recovery has replaced my normal recovery so now who need flashble..
And i will dump my system image and boot image to my sd card..

[GUIDE][SCRIPT] Install/Restore 4.1/4.2 ROMs without Odin

If you want to install or restore a CM10.1-based or stock-based ROM while you are on CM10.2/11 based ROM without using Odin you are into right place.
Automatic process with Recovery-flashable zip:
Download Format-Preload-RecoveryModeV2.zip and put it into sdcard
Reboot device in recovery and install the zip, no need to reboot after flashing
Now you can install or restore any CM10.1-based ROM!!
Semi-automatic process with Linux/Windows script - needs ADB
To use only if Automatic process doesn't work for you
Reboot device in recovery and connect to USB
Download Format zip depending on your OS. Then:
On Windows: Extract zip, copy extracted file to the same directory where is ADB executable and double click .bat
On Linux: Extract zip where you want, for example your home directory, and run it in Terminal with . PreloadFormat.sh
Click to collapse
Manual process with ADB
To use only if either Automatic and Semi-automatic don't work for you
Boot device into recovery mode, connect it to USB
Open ADB and type in order:
Code:
[B]adb devices[/B] (to be sure that device is recognized, you see some numbers followed by "recovery" word)
[B]adb shell
su
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
mkfs
(now wait 2 sec and confirm with Y)
9
ext2[/B]
Little explanation: Preload partition is used as swap partition from CM10.2 and up in our device, without formatting it (format /preload when is a swap partition doesn't work in CWM, at least for me. Parted can't format in ext4, so we need to format in ext2) you get bootloop when you install/restore a 10.1 ROM.
There is one more way too without using pc and adb..
Boot into recovery and format /system.(optional)
Now install any CM10.1 ROM on top of CM10.2.
Then go to advance option in CWM recovery and choose "reboot recovery".
Now when phone reboots into recovery, go to mount and storage and format /preload and /data.
Now reboot.
The rom will boot up normally.
I was on carbon ROM and successfully booted the MIUI using the following method..
Thanks to @Toni5830 for letting me know this method..

CM10.2 and CM11 uses preload partition as swap, so you can install CM11/10.2 based ROM over CM11/10.2 based ROM without using this. You can't downgrade to previous versions without this or flashing stock firmware.

"Root of your sd card" ? There isn't any such folder when i connect it to the pc.
Try to pull the zip with adb to external sdcard(sdcard1).Then flash from external in recovery).

Flashing kernel

can i flash custom kernel??? if yes , how to flash thunderzap kernel???
Firstly you have to have unlocked bootloader via flashtool (here's how to do it)
http://www.modaco.com/topic/364335-...sh-tool-unlockingrelockingflashing-stock-rom/
Then download Thunderzap zip file so put it into internal storage. From that zip extract .img file which you need (kk - kitkat, jb - jelly bean) and type of recovery - TWRP or CWM. That file flash via fastboot mode in flashtool. Then boot into recovery and install that zip which you have in internal storage.. follow instalation progress instructions. That's all.
If youre complete beginner and absolutely don't know what to do do not flash custom kernel you can damage your phone.

zip file is included in it.I should extract it???
First copy that zip file copy to internal storage in phone. Then flash the kernel as @Joery360 said. Then boot into CWM and install that zip. You have to install it because of wifi modules. Without this install you wouldn't have working wifi.

Here is link to zip file. http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=4856 download it and the rest is above.
I'm just browsing thru here trying to become more educated in all this.
I'm just saying, none of the explanations make sense in this post.
Really?
Flash this, install that, extract, etc etc.
Please rephrase.
