Kies! flip i have read that you should try to update using keis. I cannot figure out this piece of crappy software. What gives with it? I plug in device... kies running - click on tools/upgrade and i get the n8010 doesn't support initialization ... huh? While I am a galatic girl I have never figured out this software...bizarre!
Anyhow, just for general info can anyone please help a blonde out... pretty please
Does anyone have a step by step procedure for 'attempting' to upgrade using keis.
Thanks in advance for your help boys n girls
For Windows, i have had success by making sure I have the latest version of kies and my Note is not on USB debugging. I plug in my device with an original cable and drivers install. If they don't or if they aren't working then I repair in kies by tools|troubleshoot connection error.
Hope this helps you.

sry i couldn't help more...
consider the starting process a due diligence.
Download Samsung Kies to get the Drivers for your phone.
Make sure USB debugging is checked in the settings
Put phone into DL mode and run this.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523..
... And don't use the stock usb cable. Use a good cable with visible prongs on the mini port.

Hello, I have a problem, when I connect my infuse to my PC does not recognize it, I can not use it as mass storage since the balloon appears 'this device is not installed properly', I tried installing kies, kies mini, samsung drivers and even so I can not, is a reason why I can not set you some rooms by Odin. I tried on different computers and the same problem. I hope someone can help and would greatly appreciate it. Thx

Have you tried introducing them, maybe set up a date and let them get to know each other. If your PC is a female well you know how girls are, they can be friendly one moment then like I don't know the next moment.
Try changing data cables too that is a biggy as I have three data cables and only one works for transferring data, the other Twp only allow charging. When you do you driver install thru kies be sure to reboot your PC first before trying to use kies to set the drivers in your PC OS.

Besides samsung kies, you should also uninstall and reinstall the correct drivers from the samsung website. Also sometimes something as simple as getting a new usb cable will fix this probem. Sounds kinda dumb but ive had samsung phones that work with one cable and are not recognized by another.

I've had that cable problem too, it was due to a cheapo "charge only" USB cable that came with a free charger... lesson learned!
[Solved] Odin doesn't detect your phone. Drivers error. Blah Blah...
Folks!
Your phone BRICKED???
ODIN Doesn't detect your phone???
Shows Driver Error Code 37???
Stuck in bootloop???
Well Well!
Everything is fine.
Don't just try all the solutions online.
The problem is installation of samsung drivers over and over again is replacing the existing drivers instead of wiping them out. So, the drivers have become incompatible with your device and as well as ODIN.
The solution is very simple.
Just reinstall your operating system of pc, install drivers and then You will definitely find what the magic with the drivers.
Hope you found it helpful...
if i connect my phone into cpu always says failed of installing... what i supposed to do..even i install in the pc a driver again and again it will says that it is a problem during installation...please help
perhaps it's a cable problem?try use another cable.
merry christmas by the way!!
I had this problem aswell. But I just ignored it at first. And later on when I connected it, It worked. So I don't really know how to fix it...

I had the same problem. For me it helped to completely uninstall Kies and any Kies related Software like Samsung drivers via controlpanel. Then i installed Kies again and i installed the driver package from somewhere in xda(sorry don't know the link anymore) then i connected my phone and waited for Windows to search the drivers. This could take some time.
Sorry for my bad english, i hope you will understand me

Hi everyone,
I have currently some big issue with my GT-N8010.
My custom rom wasn't running very well so I decided to reset my tablet and go back to a new fresh installation.
I downloaded the latest firmware of the tablet on sammobile and started to update it with Odin PC, but in the middle of the transfert I got an error and now my tablet is stuck on the "Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.".
I have no idea how to fix it! And I can't go back to download mode anymore. On top of that, my tablet seems not to be recognize by my computer (I tried to install Kies and the samsung usb driver several times but it keeps saying that's the driver is not ok)...
Can someone help me please ?
Thank you in advance!
What custom rom did you had ? 4.4.2 or 4.1.2 ?

It was a 4.1.2 (HD Revolution) and I tried to flash with odin the N8010XXUCMK2_N8010XSACNA2_XSA
First uninstall kies and all usb drivers. Restart your computer.
If you can get in download mode (power+volume down then volume up when asked) :
Install some drivers from the sticky topics here on xda. Download the firmware again from another location if possible. Use a different usb port.
If you can't get in download mode, you have to try with kies. I never had success whit it, and i really need it. But it says that n8010 does not support initializing or something like that. Maybe someone else can help with kies.

I don't know where it comes from...
I tried everything, uninstall/reinstall Kies/Usb driver, put a VM with Win7 (As I am under Windows 8.1), put Win7 in dual boot to maybe fix the compatibility issue but nothing seems to work! And of course I don't have any other computer to use...
That's maybe the reason the tablet get broken as I used to use Odin on another PC and I didn't check if the usb driver was installed on this one??
I just know that Odin recognized my tablet so I was able to launch the installation of the new firmware.
I feel really bad...Hope the tablet is not definitly dead!
Faulty USB cable perhaps ?

Ok so I went to a Samsung store and they told me that I have to send my tablet to the repair center in the country where I bought the device.
It's a big issue for me as I am now living in Australia and my tablet has been bought in France.
On top of that the guy from Samsung explained me that now it's normal if my tablet is not any longer recognize by my computer...
I heard about JTAG, I don't have any idea about the subject but may it fix my problem?
Does someone know how samsung is able to fix the tablet, so I may fix it myself instead of sending to them...?
