CM10.1 is really laggy and buggy. Cm9.1 is like butter dipped in aged wine.

How about using the right section?

There's a Q/A section for this but CM9 is perfectly stable right now. CM10.1 is still in its nightlies stages so I wouldn't recommend using it as a daily rom. Although CM9 is amazing by itself, you have to wait a few more months till CM10.1 RC1 is released then you can enjoy your jelly beans.
Not much difference between ICS CM9 and JB CM10.1 other than JB being a more polished version of ICS.

As Rhett said to Scarlett "Frankly my deah, I can't see much difference" or something like that. I ran CM9 on my P3113 for about a month and discovered the CM10 nightlies and loaded the latest dtd 11/06 from the CM download site and have been running it for about 3 weeks now and I really don't see a whole lot of difference. I like them both but wouldn't go preaching the virtues of 10 over 9 on street corners, conversely there aren't any significant drawbacks that I can see which would make me go rushing back to 9 now that I've got 10 loaded on.
If you already have 9 on and are happy with it I'd say wait for the RC. I'm really thinking that the improvements in the JB vs. ICS must be mostly technical and something the average consumer isn't really going to notice on a daily basis. Actually, the one drawback I have with the CM10 is the boot animation, I much preferred the wormhole and alienish droid in the CM 9 version and have been tinkering with it to try and load the CM 9 animation but so far haven't been able to make it work. I tried replacing the bootanimation.zip file in /system/media with the one from CM 9 and it got rid of the CM 10 ani but didn't activate the CM 9, instead just got the basic ANDROID with the light phasing across it.
Hope I haven't confused the issue more than before, but I just don't see great differences in these two releases.

cm 10.1 alot more better...

CM 10.1 ...
CM 10.1 perhaps as it is based on JB.I am waiting for CM10.1 nightlies to turn into Stable versions

Why has the Skyrocket never received official CM7?

With the release of CM 7.2 to a slew of new devices yesterday, why has the Skyrocket never had official CM7?
Because many felt that it was pointless because of ics I asked the same question long ago the answer always the same ics is coming why do cm7 yes I agree it would be nice to have a full cm7 build specifically for skyrocket and not the port but Eugene's cm7 is very capable and I must commend him for the effort he put in

Well it seems that the CM7 team think it is still not pointless, as 7.2 stable was released for many devices. Including the NS4G, a phone that has had official ICS for a while as well as CM9 support.
It is obvious that our ICS leaks are not 100 percent nor is the new CM9 nightlies. All I am saying is that a stable CM 7.2 would be great for a device with only a couple of options of 100 percent stable fully working roms. Is there not enough people that agree with this?

Even the alpha 2 release of cm9 is way better than any cm7 I've ever tried. Why spend valuable time completely redoing an old version when the new version can be made even better instead and more work has already been done on it?
It just kind of seems like an all eggs in one basket kind of thing. With development only being done on CM9 we are stuck waiting until CM9 is final for a finished product.Meanwhile a final build of CM 7.2 is out there and could be ported to our device giving everyone more options. It seems like all anyone wants to develop for is ICS. But all our phone has for ICS is unfinished leaks with bugs and a CM9 beta that has bugs as well. Just saying more options would be better, especially when one of those is a finished build of CM 7.

While I agree with this point at the same time I must say a cm7 build would be great for porting over a plethora of roms and cm has always had great features

CM10 came out quicker than CM9

as the title says. i was running CM7 on my DHD and my sensation for the longest time and was anxious for the CM9 release. i tried CM9 for a bit then decided to flash HNS and then Virtuous. my point is, CM9 still has a few bugs and CM10 beta has been released. will CM9 be left since CM10 will now be the focus? i was waiting for a solid CM9 rom to be released but i guess i'll see how the progress of CM10 comes along.

CM10 is still in alpha stages... very little important aspects even work
CM7 and CM9 are based on two completely different Android builds, CM10 based on JB is very similar to CM9 based on ICS
If the developers manage to get a fairly stable build of cm10 they may well move on to cm10 altogether. Does not make sense to develop cm9 anymore. Well unless there is something important in cm9 that cannot be fixed in 10
I thought I read somewhere that CM9 will still be worked on and right now they are looking to release the CM9 RC. CM10 was out quicker because it's base off of CM9 and is not a build from the ground up like it was for CM9. Because of this, they can use most of the build to work on CM10.
Cm9 is on RC2 now so I think cm9 came quicker and its basically fully stable. I use it as a daily

I second that. I stayed away from CM9 on the Sensation for a long time since it was just not quite stable/functional enough for me (stable maybe but some of the key functions weren't stable enough and battery life was killing me for a while).
Anyway, I installed CM9 RC2 late last week; I think the day it came out. Anyway... to the point... CM9 RC2 has been extremely stable for me, battery life has been great (not QUITE as good as some of the Sense-Less ROMs out there like Virtuous or ExtremeSensation but close enough). I much prefer a clean AOSP system anyway so I'm sticking with it.
With CM10 on the way I'm encouraged by the fact that we finally have a stable CM9 for them to build off of. Thanks to the whole crew who has been working on it!

What i dont like about cm9 is the overall volume... its very low compared to sense roms...
Hmm....the volume issue would be something worth investigating.
CM9 took quite a while for ROMs/kangs/unofficial nightlies to start appearing. This was because they needed to rewrite the whole CM source tree (the modifications CM makes to Android) from scratch. Jelly Bean, under the hood, is quite similar to ICS, so it's a lot lot easier to port things from CM9 to CM10. Porting things from CM7 to CM9 was almost, if not impossible.

download Volume+ from the play store, Ive used it for quite a while on lots of roms with no problem

Where is non-kexec CM9 for d2vzw?

I know that CM9 is officially stable and everyone is playing around with CM10 nightlies. I'd be happy enough to just use a stable CM9 rom, but can't find a non-kexec version.
All the talk here is now about CM10
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783262
I'm guessing there wont be an official CM9 since i we probably missed the boat on that one, but is there an unofficial version floating around?
yeah i cant find it either, i dont think its supported by cyanogenmod, at least not yet, theyre focused on cm10. CM10 is definitely a daily driver though, check out out their nightlies theyre pretty stable
You'll probably never find a CM9 port for it when CM10 is developed as far as it is. Its already officially supported by the CM team. It would be a lot of work for a huge step backwards. That's like asking why Windows Vista isn't being ported over when you already have Windows 7.
I assume you're asking because of current issues with CM10? And because of these issues you're thinking that CM9 will do fine for now since its so well developed? Actually, all the same problems (sort of) would exist for CM9 but in a different manner. Hardware compatibility still would have to be smoothed out, drivers, RIL, etc etc. Its not cut and dry.
If that's not why you're wondering, then disregard everything I just said...lol.
that's pretty much what I was thinking. thanks for your replies.

An Obsertvation: CM 7.2 and Nightlies

Just an observation. . . The CM 7 Nightlies been have rolling out regularly. For me, these have been smooth and stable. I keep going back to this Ginger based Rom. The new update for ADW launcher shows a lot of promise as well. I really appreciate the efforts on ICS and Jellybean. For some reason the phone reception drops in and out (we live in a weak signal area) with ICS more than CM, and while Jellybean is smooth, it is slow for graphic intensive games. I keep going back to CM. . .light and reliable.
Gingerbread was the last official release for ace devices. Because of this, anything after will never be as complete. I know cyanogen is going to support cm10 for desire/inspire but it may never be as solid as cm7.

I have tried some CM 10 mods and they are smooth (Jellybean source, right?). I don't do games much, but once in a while. . . the JB based roms seem to be laggy in the game dept.
I wonder how the CM 9 ROMS might progress, there seems to be more potential for the ACE devices in that direction. I really like Exist's work. Though due to my weak reception area, the ICS roms doesn't hold on to a signal as well. . . whereas the Ginger based roms do better in that area. I don't know why, and I'm too lazy to experiment with radios every time I flash. So CM 7.2 will be the workhorse for the time being.

Which ROM are you running? Like it?

Hey guys.
Currently, I am running CM10 on my verizon SIII and so far a love it! No complaints for me.
I am getting bored of it though, like anyone else would get who loves their phone, and am looking to change to something else!
Please let me know which ROM you are running, and the Pros and Cons of the ROM!
I am very interested to know, THANKS!!!
I'm currently running PACman. It has the best of CM10, AOKP, and ParanoidAndroid all mushed together. It's only the first build for our device so it has a few rough spots to iron out, but so far it hasn't proven to be any less stable than CM10. I personally can't stand TW so if you're looking for something a little bit different in the AOSP realm, give PACman a try.

I deal with tw because it has some sweet perks but i miss having an aosp or aokp but i haven't been able to get the 4.2 camera to be stable without it freezing and not functioning until it restarts.

Loving CleanROM 5. I haven't tried any others. Not going AOSP due to the fact I like & use the Premium Suite that comes attached to TW.
Running the pac rom as well. Miss the TW features, but I might hang on to this ROM for awhile.
Well I'm running kingkang build 1 best ROM out of all my opinion. I've tried basicly all of the ROMZ but stick with kingkang it works perfectly fine with me sept the cam but hey touch to focus n you be alright!!

Just moved to Synergy JB r125 last night from ICS r73. So far so good
I didn't really like TW while on ICS, so I used Apex Launcher, but am giving TW a shot on JB this time.
I just want a stable ROM, not interested in changing it daily or weekly or even monthly. I only upgrade when the positives outweigh the negatives.
Feels like at least one thing I use is broken in every ROM I've tried so far. Right now running Galaxy Mod, but can't get wifi tether app to work -- even though it's worked fine on just about every other ROM I've used.
Hate stock, but tempted to go back to it.
I'm on the latest Synergy but I tried Pacman rom also. The keyboard kept force closing on me no matter what I did.
Synergy is smooth as hell though.

Have you used treve's version in the apps and themes section?
I use tethering exclusively and have had no issues running the WiFi hotspot toggle that comes with galaxymod.
I don't know if its a different toggle than what the kindacrapmods install on the phone but it works well also.

I was on CM 10 and it was okay. I did miss having some of the touch wiz features like the motion settings and keeping the screen on while your looking at it. I just recently installed the [Rom] Jelly 'Beans' - Build 5 [11/27/12][Aroma][Fully Customizable][I535VRBLK1] with the Aroma installer and I have to say it is far superior to CM 10 it brought back the features i loved about touch wiz and let me choose not to install bloat ware. I was also able to OC in rom toolbox to 1900mhz which i couldnt do in stock CM 10.

Baked BlackBean. It's AOSP, smooth, stable, reliable, and black.
im running the PacMan rom
so far so bueno, nand'n back to SlimRom in a minute. the only reliable AOSP out there.
but my all time fave to date is Taste of Beans...all around best performance by far
Beans B5. I like TW features, stability, its plenty fast for me and its themed to look like AOSP.
Lol this thread is going to be locked up by a mod soon...
Baked Black Bean v6. It's fast, stable, had good features, and it's blacked out.

Why would it be locked up??
I used to have a Moto Droid 1 (OG Droid) and the messaging app it came with was able to have group messages, where everyones reply would be in the same thread. It annoys me that it is not the case on my S3.
Does anyone know any app i could get that is good with group convos???
or a ROM that would change that
