Hi
ANyone has checked how the N8000 16GB memory is installed?
I was wondering if I pay & get the 16GB upgraded to 32GB/64GB through Samsung Service center.
Is there only one memory slot with 16GB module whih canbe replaced with 32GB/64GB or there are addl module space?
Pl share the block diagram/Board view if you have
Thanks
PS - I am aware that this sound too farfetched but thats how innovation happens
Best off just getting a 64gb micro sd card for £30 adding it to your 16gb 10.1 and youve got 80gb .... how much do you need?
But im sure youve already thought of that.
Heres an hour long disasembly video of the note 10.1, maybe of some help...

Have the 32gb (N8000) but never seen the 64gb out in the wild.... Finding the 32gb was pretty hard and I have only seen it at 2 places. JB Hifi in Australia and a website. Bought the 32gb in Oz but didn't from the website. I did post about it in the general thread, though it was a little while back...
It would probably be a board change but finding a service center that wold do it might be hard and you'd also change your IMEI....

you can't install apps on a micro sd card so it's pretty much a waste of time getting a 64gb micro sd unless you want to listen to music or video.

If it's rooted then you can use Apps2sd and install stuff on sd card.
There's also a script that swaps out your internal memory for your external. Checkout android developement forum...
Found it as soon as I opened the developement forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857391

Yes its possible to root your device to install apps on a micro sd card but it voids your warrenty and erases your data, without root having a micro sd is of no use.

You can always unroot and restore your warranty and root doesn't erease your data , common you are on xda

show proof that it dosn't erase your data, all known root methods delete all data on tablet, also the tablet also knows how many times you have rooted it has a counter, if you send that to samsung, they wont repair your device, warranty becomes void.

none of the root method erase your data , cf root , Exynos abuse , etc , plus Exynos abuse doesn't increase flash counter , and if you flash counter increases use triangle away and it will reset it ,I wonder who is your source of information they are extremely wrong in a very bad way

I recently bought a 32GB SD card for about 50$, I tried many app 2 sd programs on my phone but nothing will work. How do I mod my phone so that I will be able to?

Not all apps can be moved to the SD Card.
To do so you will need to partition your SD Card and use Link2SD or any other App2SD script.
Here is a good tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459

I want to use all of the 32GB SD card for apps, media, etc storage.
I have spent all night parting my SD card using minitool partition wizard prof. edition.
I followed the instructions but the link2sd app and the other app2sd apps will not work or they stop working.
Its as if my Galaxy 3 is programmed to work against it.
Can someone tell me step by step what I need to do, or link me to a video or article?

GS3 or G3. What I did was, partitioned my SD card from recovery. Of course I had root access. Downloaded link2sd. Created mount script. Restart. Then linked as many apps I could. I think I missed some insignificant steps.
Hi, please take note I'm a noob, still learning, don't no if this will help, I have rooted a HTC desire and last night rooted my galaxy S3 , the desire has a very small internal memory, so to force more space I moved apps to my 16gb micro chip just by using titanium back up, last night on my S3 I moved 34 apps to sd card by the same process.
Don't really know if this is correct but all is still working fine

Hi All,
I've two tablets and the internal free space in getting lower, I need to install apps directly on their external sd cards. How is it possible? All the "2SD" apps don't work.
Thank you all in advance :good:

Really...... I was under the impression that it could not be done at all.
Please tell how as I would like to know also.
Thanks.
.
didnt figure this out but u can use titanium and move those on the device to leave more space for other installations.
If you are rooted and on a stock ROM or ROM not using JB 4.2 (Google changed the file structure again in JB 4.2), you may be abe to use zedomax's script that swaps the internal and external SD cards. Although it's long, I would suggest reading through the entire thread as glitches with the stock ROM update to JB 4.1.2 and work arounds are addressed later in the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857391&page=1
I'm interested in this as well. I read a post on something called a directory bind...??? I guess that moves app data to the SD card. I currently have just over 9 gig of space left to fill (16gig model). Just put in a class 10 32gb card in last night to find out that app2sd does not work...
I read today that link2sd might work. Haven't gotten a chance to try it yet though.

I tried link2sd and the other one mentioned in this thread with no luck.
I don't really want to do the the card swap method.
So........... if anyone has another way to store apps on a mico sdhc card that truly works, I'm in.
Found app that truly works
I finally found an app that truly transfers your app data to your "extSdCard" but you do need to have root.
The app is called "Directoryblind" and can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262 and the most current file is DirectoryBind_0.2.0o.apk
The app has been out since 12-2011 with many updates since its release.
So I'm posting it on this Note 10.1 section as I have never seen it talked about in this section and I thought it may help someone else find this app.
Again it truly does work.

My Galaxy Grand has 8gb memory of which only 4gb is available to the user and I am left with just 800mb space left, I would like to know if anyone of you can let me know a way to transfer my apps to sd card, also I have hears that one can convert sd card to internal memory after rooting, is that possible, if yes then plese let me know how, also is it possible to transfer apps to sd card without rooting if so plsase let me know how, I would be eagerly looking for a reply.

I'm not really familiar with that device but on most you can grab App2Sd from Google Play and it's self explanatory from there, but some devices (like mine) don't et you move apps to the SD Card, but you can move everything else there
And I'm no moderator, but I'm not so sure this isn't the right section for your question, I think it belongs in Q and A

After rooting you can use Directory Bind to link your internal/external storage, but that's not truly moving them to the SD Card, but I think it's the closest you can get. I don't bother with it, I just move all my big files to my SD Card so I have space for my APK's on my internal storage

without rooting u cant have memory swap..root ur grand and install init.d support. and reboot then install this http://d-h.st/AGR and gain reboot. this will convert external memory to internal and internal to external automatically.
use http://galaxygrandcenter.blogspot.in/2013/03/warning-it-will-void-your-warranty-and.html to root.
and this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39510406&postcount=1 to add init.d

Thank you sir for the help, I have succesfully rooted my phone throught that guide, though there was a little trouble geeting the Clock Work Mode Recovery but finally got it.
Sir can you tell me the actual usage of CWM, can i get backup of my present status through this mode or do i need to use some app like Titanium Backup pro for that purpose and what info would actually be backed up, like would it store info of the present firmware and is the backup point created in the internal memory or the sd card.
Also sir can you please tell me that if I swap my 32gb ext sd card with 4gb internal memory then when I want to get my phone back to normal mode then how am I gonna do so, I mean the sd card would have let's say some 25gb apps and I want to put the phone back to normal, I mean unswap it then how would it be possible as my internal memory would be only 4 gb, will I have to delete apps or use some recovery option, please make that clear, thank you sir for all your help.

When asking for help it is generally beneficial to tell us all details. So..........
Can you tell us what brand card it is as well as size and what file system you formatted it to?
Have you tried SD Formatter
Windows https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/eula_windows/
Mac https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/eula_mac/

Some sd cards have a small pin to move to make them read only... try flipping it.
Otherwise the card must be faulty. Did u try mini partition?

Apparently the SanDisk cards have been having issues. I just sent mine in because my tablet wouldn't recognize it. I kept getting a sd card error message for a few months but it would eventually get recognized until last week where no matter what I tried, it just wasn't getting picked up by my tablet.
If I were you, I would send it in before the warranty expires unless you it says ultra on it which I think is a lifetime warranty but at least call them up and see what they have to say.

Hey Everyone!
Went to listen to my music today and nothing was showing up. Opened ES file explorer and sure enough the card was not being recognized. I took it out put it in my computer that once did recognize and transfer files with the card and it also no longer recognizes it. I did some research and it seems this happens a LOT with Samsung Galaxy's and Note's. I did not have any important files, but I would like to somehow reformat the card so I am not out 40 bucks. Thanks so much!

I believe it is corrupted to the point where it isn't recognizable but I feel as if there is some way to fix it. If not that is a true shame. Something Samsung REALLY needs to fix. I do not understand why my phone would destroy a SD card???

Wish I could have gotten that deal. Not exactly sure what to do. Really bummed a SD card just broke because of my phone. With Samsung's rep in phones and using a Samsung SD card this should not be a problem
Try contacting Samsung to see if they can replace ur card.. Check Amazon they had the same deal about a week ago. But it was SanDisk brand
