32gb sd card

Hi guys im having an issue with a 32gb Kingston sd card, whats happening is that everytime i add files to my sd card from my computer it will show them to me that they are there. But once i put the sd card in my phone the new files i transfer wont appear :/. Ive formatted my sd card already like couple times and still does the same. Never did that to my 8gb card, and top of that when i transfer all my data from the 8gb to the 32 only half transferd and when back n fourth doing it folder per folder and just wouldnt show anything on the phone. Any suggestions, thank you

Going to take a guess and say you're on CM? If so I had problems with my 32GB too but on stock roms it works. I had to get a 16GB to use under CM. I'm not sure of the problem but there was my fix

Are you rebooting the phone after putting back the microsd? Sometimes that works.

As matter fact havent tried on Cm, im on MIUI right now. But im giving it one more try with the formatting see what happens if not will go to Eagle Blood see how that goes.

Yeah im since i noticed my sd card wouldnt show up unless would have to reboot. some files have been transfering but like awhile ago i d-loaded the files that needed for the game Modern combat 2 and after finished i rebooted or just quit playing and tried playing again and have to be redowloading the files over and over again since nothing stays on my sd card :/

That sucks, sounds like a bad sdcard. You still got the receipt?
I got my 32gb lexar class 10 with USB SD reader for just under 50 and its been issue free. Never liked Kingston products.

Tried formatting it using the phone itself? Miui is based off cm7 so that could be the issue as well.

Won't let me format it from phone since as soon as I put it in tells me "safely to remove card now" so kinda like automatically ejectects itself when I put it in. N got another problem :/ I bitlocked the sd card in my windows 7 laptop and as I was transferring files my wire was loose and we'll lost the connection and of course gave me files transfer error. But the problem now is that since I bitlocked the sd card won't let me get in it anymore, even though i put my password I put for the sd card. Just says something error with files and blah blah ;/. Can't even format or or anything anymore ;/

Found the solution for this problem with the bit locker > I mounted my sd card on my xp SP3 and formatted it and gave me the ize of 514mb i was like what. But i still did it and when i mounted it on my windows 7 i formatted again and this time showed me the 32gb size . So now its working properly.yeah buddy.

Moving from Weapon X to Miui rom my sdcard was detected fine but then after a couple of days of using Miui I wasn't able to open up sdcard when connected to my pc. It shown that usb is detected on my phone.
It only work when I restore back to WeaponX. I tried flashing different Miui roms, EagleBlood and PhoenixBlood. None detect my sdcard on pc except for WeaponX. I also tried to format my sdcard. Didn't work.
Anyone got any suggestion??

Try reinstalling ure usb drivers or not just restart the computer that would help with me. Or have you tried it with a card adapter?

If you've tried it both with the USB cord and with an sd card reader, it might just be a bad sd card. This happened to me with a Samsung 16gb. I couldnt add or delete anything on it. Simply had to get a new sd card. Try out Lexar or PNY if you want a good one.

Odd Issue With a Micro Sd

Hey guys this is my last place to turn before I just go buy a new one but I want to see if anyone at all can help me.
I have a Sandisk 32 GB Class 4 Micro Sd. I bought it off a guy on the xda marketplace and it was in the factory packaging and took me a half hour to get out so I doubt it was fake unless people forge the packaging.
Well the other day I went to copy a file onto the card by mounting it to the computer. It copied just fine but when I unmounted the card and went onto the phone the file was no where to be found. This was off to me so I mounted the card again and it opened fine but there was no file. I then copied it again and it said it worked like it normally does. i unmounted then mounted right away and guess what the file didn't exist.
This is where it gets interesting.
I then mount the card again and select everything and delete it all. It says it works fine. I then disconnect the card then mount it again and guess what all the files are back. Like nothing happened. I then proceed to format in windows by right clicking and hitting format. It didnt do anything. I then go into recovery on the phone and try and format it. Nothing happens. I then connect the card directly to the computer with a micro to sd card adapter that is made by sandisk. It mounts to the computer fine. I then go into Easeus Partition Manager and click format. It finishes and comes up with an error saying There are some error occurred while writing partition chains on disk.
If anyone has any idea please help.
UPDATE: I have contacted Sandisk and they are going to send me a brand new card.

Is the card detected by the mobile?
If yes, try to format it in the mobile itself with the format option.
Also check how much space it shows , before & after formatting.

Try low level format

Could be a duff card but sometimes I have had this if the card has not been fully un mounted try waiting a couple more minutes before removing the card to give the system time to fully un mount it
Or it will not be written to.

The card is detected by mobile and I've tried that also it doesn't work. I think I'm just gonna call this card dead. Its under warranty so does anyone know the best way to get a new card

Did you press eject USB every time you pull the cable? Not doing it can corrupt your card

Sandisk said the card is broke so I'm sending it back for a new one

but anyway the card was defective so sandisk sent me a new one.

Nooooo. This is the same issue I'm having! Ugh... mine is a 64 gb and we're about to go on a long trip. I wanted to add more music. And I can't afford to buy one from the local stores. They're too expensive! :'(

Ok maybe I'm missing somthing but I got my new sd card tonight and formated it on the computer. Then put it in the slot and it not showing up. I did a fat32 format. The card is a sandisk class 10 32gig. Any ideas? as alway you guys are awesome. Thanks for the help

Any ideas why I can't mount my sd card? It's not showing that there is a card there.

I can put the card in my dx and it works fine but put it back in the s3 and nothing. I'm running synergy anybody thinks that has something to do with it. Maybe I'll try a different rom. Any ideas?

first try reflashing synergy. Something funky may have happened when you flashed the Rom.
If that does not work go back to stock and see if it will work on the stock rom, heck it is always worth a try. If this doesn't work, it may have been the formatting done by your computer that has made it incompatible.
If nothing works, take it back to the store you bought it from ( if you bought it from a store x.x) and just get an exchange because it is technically a faulty product to you right now.
Also, it may be inconvenient, but please list more info. What version of Synergy? What kernel are you running? Either of these could be the problem.

I will try to re flash ASAP... I'm running synergy rom nightly r53. And the kernel that came with it. I just got this 32gig class 10 card but my 16gig from my dx did not work either. I never tried before I rooted it. Hope flash will help.

All these threads I see about cards not being able to be mounted - can't you just format the card in the phone itself and then mount and use it?
That's how we got the 64 gig sandisk cards to work in the mytouch 4g slide - and when I took that card out of it and put it in the SGSIII it was immediately usable, didn't have to format or anything.
Why have I not seen mention of trying this - did I just miss it or is "format card" greyed out under storage options?

this wont work, been there and done that. i had to format my sandisk 64gb to fat32 with a seperate program.

Do we know what's wrong with the format option in the phone then?
I phrase it that way because my over a year old htc device can prep the cards to work in the SGSIII - so thia device should be able to do it too.
If going from gingerbread to ics means losing critical functions like this, think I need a tally of all the missing features gingerbread offered before calling the upgrade progress...
...or is this samsungs fault and a device specific problem?

Galaxy S3 wont read 16gb micro sd?

So I have a 16b micro sd card that came with my OG Droid 2 years ago. I formatted it with fat32 and exfat and trying both still cant be read by my S3. If I insert it in, the S3 doesnt read anything (and no trace of any sd card being there). I also have another 16gb sd card that is class 4 and it also cant be read. I know both SD cards are working fine because they still work on my Droid but for some reason it wont on my S3.
Could it be because I partitioned both cards? I've already formatted it and got rid of the partition so idk. And whats weird is that my 2gb sd card from like 4 years ago works and is readable on my S3. Could someone help?

I would reformat on your computer again, I have had no issues with any SD card on my S3.

I had same issues with an old card that had barely been used.Broke down & bought a Samsung card.Cost extra cpl $ but have had 0 problems since.

I cant since it wont be read at all on my phone. So i have to format through my computer... I've tried formatting multiple times. Still no luck. Im really trying to use this card temporarily before i buy a 32gb class 10 card when i have the money

I had same issue but with larger card. I tried three different PCs and none made the card work. Tried my wife's Mac to format it and it worked perfectly. Have you tried using a Mac?

Anyone get a solution to this? Just bought a brand new 32GB class 10 MicroSD, I formatted exFAT and NTFS using my computer but NTFS isn't read on the card and exFAT keeps getting the "unexpectedly removed" notification every 5 seconds...
Fat32 means I can't store files larger than 700mb right? i.e. a hi-res movie won't work?

Fat32 is the only way i could get my 64gb ultra -1 card to be read in cwm. Use the program from ridge crop. I believe your limited to files no larger than 2 or 4gb, cant remember off hand.

4GB. Movies if not compressed may need to be split or run from Internal. Good reason for having 32GB internal.

I'm using the 16GB card that came with my OG Droid, and have had no problems with it. But I don't believe I ever formatted it.

Haha I actually didn't see what you posted I could have tried that. Probably will when I get my class 10 SD card if it can't be read. And my siblings are apple/iphone lovers because they don't know how great Android is. I'm just glad they had there laptops. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to root, and unlock my phone cause my windows couldn't run bat files for some reason...

I have had a hell of a weekend trying to get my new 64gb card recognised by my SGS3 after swapping from Omega rom to AOKP. Turns out roms based on Cyanogen Mod dont recognise exFAT formatted cards and so corrupt them. I eventually managed to reformat my card using EaseUS partition manager but my phone still wont recognise it. Im going to flash back to Omega 31.1 in the morning and hopefully solve most of the problems. I know the card works fine because after formating it my Acer A500 recognises it, as does my PC. Problems is my phone isnt recognising any MicroSd cards now, so hopefully havent busted it or ill have to flash back to stock rom and swap it out at Tesco's.

[HELP] sd card error

So i have about 8 gigs of music and such on my sd card.
Today I took it out and put it in one of those picture printing stations at Walmart. Anyhow when I put the sd card back in, I can't access the sd card. It seems like it isn't mounted. Tried mounting in recovery mode and received a nonspecific error.
Help?

Is your phone showing memrycard symbol with exclmtn mark?? Then data may be crrptd due to unwanted unplugging or semi formattng. You can recover your data using sd data recovery tool for windows..by tat tool even you can bring back the data even from a formatd sd card

I don't get any errors when I've got the phone booted up. It just simply doesn't work. I don't have access to a computer easily right now as my Netbook is also down (awaiting a motherboard delivery) any methods on android?

So I was able to plug the card into my computer, backed up the data, formatted ran a chkdsk, fixed any errors automatically.
moved my data back, and still no luck. at this point i'm thinking it's a hardware failure. I have been running at 1.78 GHz for some time, and i know overclocking incurs possible hardware/software malfunctions, however i'm not so certain that the oc caused the malfunction.
Already tried a clean wipe and fresh install of PA 2.99, problem persisted. I hate reflashing the rom because it takes roughly 3 or 4 days for the battery life to catch up to normal life. Right after a flash i get about 60% of the life from a full charge fro 3-4 days then it levels out and i'm back to 20 hours.
the reason i find it hard to believe my OC caused the problem is because of the timing of the malfunction.
Walk into walmart - sd card working
take sd card out, put it in picture printing machine - the machine doesn't read the images properly, whatever
put sd card back in phone - sd card doesn't mount
check sd card in computer - sd card still has files and ntfs formatting
so i'm thinking if i do a factory restore to the stock rom, it might work. although flashing is a pain in the ass. Does anyone think i've got a chance?

Tried the sd card in another blackberry, the card is fine. I'm just having a problem mounting it. I'm sure it's hardware related, but I'm hoping It's software. Already bricked an i9100, fried internal sd cards in 2x i9000's. I'm tough on phones. I'd hate to need a new phone. But sooner or later
