THeme porter is useless dude! Someone from teh community tired it! I also searched for that thing. Ultimately, I ended up creating my own theme without the porter!

7zip...or apk manager to decompile the .apk !
theme porter just copies mismatching png from one file to another(totally useless)
use 7 zip for porting a theme it is the best way for porting

Use apk manager
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
Bro makin your own theme would be diffucult unless your good and fast doing it on one of every each icon, colors, shades, transparancy etc etc..Inside your Theme
In my own experience just like on the last release of POSEIDON Version 2 , Its compose of for 4 diff themes.. but only edit and port Is all I did.and it takes alot of time.(and made the rom mess up) that why got to pull out and make a quick fix..
Usefull application
7zip is the most easy way
apk. manager is useful for optimizing
most of all u need if u want to make your own,,U must have a lot of time and skills..
Thankfull that we have good theme porter thats makin our life easy..
like..kkrraazzyy, vivek, ron, bala, and other great contributors to our phone..

Let's make it based on ZSKK5 ROM and make a CWM package to flash it

Though i hate themeing,i will do it

U just have to decompile the apk, replace the xml's ,and then compile it again.

All i wish for is a snappy phone, no FC, no hang, no reboots.
ICS transition ? Easy !
UOT Kitchen can solve all your problems
CM7 will have the option to slow/quicken the transition animations , so please be patient

Yup UOT kitchen works I made one for LA4 nad there is android market app caled spare parts plus that can controll speed of animations
Really? I couldn't make windows animations work with UOT kitchen. I had to extract frameworks and replaced anim folders manually.

Always framwork, twframework and SystemUI. With no effect unfortunatelly. But since I know how to do it manually it's no longer a problem And it's much more fun if you do everything manually

Oh yes, I get errors every time "decompile-compile" is involved. The only way I managed to change window animations was to replace the original anim-folder from framework-res.apk with the tweaked one Surprisingly this method didn't work with ICS-transition effect.

The guide which i posted on fb, is just useless... And the one by Asad is also useless. That can port roms like Based on gb nly... I'll try to make a new guide on how to port roms manually..
And this is for porting roms from equivalent ldpi devices!!
Set up dsixda kitchen first ! To set up follow these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
Then open kitchen using cygwin or linux! Put the base rom and the rom you wanna port in original update folder!
1.Then type 0 and enter!
2.Then 19 ie. Porting Tools
3.Choose a then enter!
4.Choose the base rom !
5.Then choose the rom you wanna port!
6.It'll take some time!
7. " Now type 99 ie. build rom from working folder " !
8. The built rom will be in output_zip!
9. Now flash ur ported rom through cwm!
10. Enjoy!
And I forgot to tell a thing that camera wont work unless you replace the lib folder in system/lib ..
And for a complete pictorial guide check here : http://www.mediafire.com/?t4eet10vst13f5l
Way do I mean by equivalent? Way abut mdpi
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
mdpi is a little complicated... you need to decompile many apks and resize the resources.
the lcd density needs to be adjusted.
in short, it takes a lot more hardwork.

THIS is the orginal rom's link.
Replace camera libs with fit's stock ones.
Replace HW libs
Replace PPP,wifi and vold.fstab from etc folder
MAIN PART: Resize the frameworks, systemui, dialer, phone, launcher, maybe something more too..
You have to resize every single png present in there!
Then change kernel from fit and you are done.
Read Feras's guide to port roms..its perfect for porting from ace, mini, gio to fit.
Bdw adityaf and Raj joshi are already trying to port it.

Here you go..
Once you develope a habbit of porting roms,it becomes lot easy! (one of the easiest stuff to do on xda)
But do not flood the "developement" section with ports..use them for personal use.
Good luck!
