Hi guys,
I have Samsung Galaxy S i9000 I'll cut to the chase I flashed it with ODIN one click for the AT&T Captivate. "Yes I am numpty"
I've looked but I can't find anyone in the UK that repairs bad flashes of this type.
Is it time to bin it and buy a new phone or is there anyone out there that I can pay to get this repaired please?
if you need any further details about the phone please ask.
Kindest regards,
stanneh.
While I dont know where you could get help for that problem...if possible I'm sure someone here at xda could help?
Think of this as a learning experience and be careful of what you put on your phone and be sure to do some prep reading before doing so. While I'm no expert at this stuff, I figured that was the least I could do before rooting my g2 and oc'ing it.
Good luck getting it fixed btw!
A little update for you all.
I gave Samsung UK a call and was straight up with them told them exactly what I had done.
well I did say I had no idea what I was doing but acknowledged that what I have done voids the warranty and offered to pay any fee's to get the phone repaired.
The man on the phone was very kind and said they will repair it under warranty for me and that I have to take it in to a Carphone warehouse store in Cardiff UK to get it repaired.
I will keep you all up to date on how that goes.

Stanneh.
Is your phone dead? does it turn back on to the recovery mode or download mode?
Hi,
No its not dead but the boot loader it has now is from another phone.
I flashed it with ODIN One Click my bad but I'm not the only numpty to have done it.
After reading many forum posts there's a few of us who did this and currently there is no way to recover it.
I just took it to the Carphone Warehouse service centre they were unable to restore it there so they have sent it back to Samsung to be repaired.
I imagine it going to cost me and I don't mind paying for my mistake.
Regards,
Stanneh.
Hi again,
Just a quick update!
So I took my phone back to the Carphone Warehouse and they had to send it off as the couldn't correct the issue in house.
I had an email the next evening to say my phone was fixed and ready to be picked up at the store. When I got there they pulled out the same phone Identifiable by markings and it was fixed!! I don't know if they put a new motherboard in there or just managed to flash it back but it took all of two days for them to do it and it was all done for free under warranty.
I have since rooted the phone just fine.
Before I bricked it I had rooted it and used OCLF to format it with ext2 which worked awesome the speed was unbelievable but I hear with the Android 2.3 update they are changing to the ext4 file system anyway I am just going to wait for that now. I just don't want to take any more risks.
For the record the initial bricking of my phone was when I decided to install Voodoo just for the audio features but it never booted after that I think because I had ext2 file system from OCLF?
but that was the start of the problem then I was a numpty and used Odin one click to try and recover the phone and then totally bricked it with the AT&T loop.
I have found quite a few threads regarding this but dont know which to do or where to start..I am pretty handy with code/pc's,but i am a diagnosed dyslexic, and a noob to phone hacking..Im sorry if this has been asked a million times..
I have two Lg thrive Go phone at&t phones unlocked using the thread i found here.Bought them in april, rooted played with some roms, did a few different things, but kept it simple..
Last night i decided to be smart and play with the clockworkmod app and during sd partition, froze my one phone (my phone-not my finace's)..I know, really smart thing to do..lol
Anyways, the phone can get to the fastboot /su screen or whatever, and it can also get into emergency mode..Ive seen a thread for the p500,and random stuff for the p506,but ive been running around in circles with which one to do,the words are getting really jumbled...I need help now please..
Can someone point me to a reputable guide for unlocking the freeze on this?Ive got a serious headache,to the point where i just want to give up and buy a new phone, but cant afford it.
Many thanks for this place...
bump-please?
I did this with my LG P509 when I was messing around with clockwork. There are threads about how to unbrick with KDZ and to reinstall the stock firmware. Search that and see if it helps you at all.
Hi all, I am a complete noob and have gotten myself into a big hole.
I was messing around with my galaxy s to root it and install roms, I followed all of the instructions but I think something went wrong in the back up process and had no esf file any where. Now I have a phone that is stuck in flight mode and have been using it as an iPod basically.
I did this about 6 months ago and can't really remember what I did. I don't mind sending it back to Sammy if I need too but would rather not have to pay if I can get away with it. I know messing around with IMEI numbers is highly illegal but any help would be greatly appreciated. If it is of any help to the situation, my gf has a galaxy s as well, don't know if this would be any good to get any files I need but at the same time I am scared to ruin her phone. I know I am an idiot and I promise I will never play around again.
Galaxy S or Galaxy S 4G (SGH-T959V)?
Hi all, it's been a while since I have posted here, but I am in need of some help. I am not an experienced rooter (if that is a word), but I dabble in what I can, and do a lot of research on the subject, and this forum has helped me over the years to achieve my goals, however, I think I may have gotten in a little over my head here.
Here's the situation, my mother in law has an HTC Evo 3D that she received as an upgrade sometime last year on the Sprint network (US), but is now is not activated and just sits in her desk until it can be used again. I was trying to help her to find a cheaper phone company that would allow her to keep her phone without paying an arm and a leg to use it. I told her I would do what I could, but I couldn't guarantee anything. I recently found a post on here that had instructions on how to flash the Evo 3D to the Onessa Boosted (Boost Mobile) Essentials ROM, and I thought it was going to be an easy fix.
Long story short, I rooted the phone, flashed it with the ROM and I ended up with a constant boot loop. I tried to go back to stock, but couldn’t because my dumba$$ forgot to back up the stock rom in the recovery menu and I only ended up unrooting the phone, now I don't know what to do. Now when I boot the phone, it keeps taking me back to the fastboot menu, and it won’t let me use any of the functions in there. I just hope I didn't brick the phone. I don't want to come back to her empty handed, but I feel if I cannot receive any help here, I may have to. Any help that you can provide would be extremely useful at this point.

Hello XDA members,
I hope that I am posting in the right section.. let's get to the deal...
I am an owner of a almost 2 day old Straight Talk S3 Model: SCH-S968C
The Issue that I am having with it is mainly after I receive the Picture Message I am not able to download it to my phone?
I was wondering if I was to go down the route of rooting my device that it would take care of this issue? It is still under warranty at walmart
but the two stores I've went to ran out of the phone.
Everything works on the phone besides the Pic Message.. which makes me believe that my issue is due to software problems
So if I root the phone from stock to a custom rom will it take care of my issue of not being able to download the pictures to my phone?
If this works where could I find the stock rom for this phone and which rom could I use in it's replace.
If this rom switching route doesn't work I guess I must wait for them to exchange phones in a few days..
Hoping you folks could guide me into a direction of how I can solve this troubling issue many thanks from Palm Desert, CA
