Within seconds of getting to the installation menu, the phone just immediately turns off. I wiped the phone data/cleared cache, and cleared dalvik. It does the same thing every time.

Im not too sure how to get into the fastboot portion? I find his instructions not that clear. When I plug my phone in with no battery, while holding volume up, it does not install OMAP drivers, but instead I can see LGE Mobile USB Serial Port in device manager..
Edit: When I type the first line ("fastboot flash u-boot u-boot.img") It just gets stuck on < Waiting for device >
Did you install the omap driver? You have to "catch' it fast while it shows up in the device manager, and install the driver manually. You an find the driver in those files that you have downloaded.

please help!
No to update it just unplug the device reboot computer and try to update again. Search around for the LG tool and go from there its pretty easy from that point on and I updated with custom recovery while on a custom 2.3.3 rom.

Ok. So do I just plug my phone in, download drivers unplug, let it install, then plug back in, then start the procedure? And if it stops the reboot pc and redo I?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
It should walk you through things install drivers make sure they are correct through device manager, and then reboot computer, then try update. I had issues until I did the reboot then all went smoothly.

Last time I tried to replace the ics market come with the xbsall's rom
I flashed the gapp for cm9 and the face unlock appeared.
I believe that's the cause
You need to hold the device at arm's length. Which is pretty far to me

I tried this, and you are right, face unlock did come up. However, the camera part doesn't even show up on my phone after pressing 'Set Up', so nothing is working. -.-
MAy be any developer can make us a flash able zip from that gaaps. I had one but that doesn't work with the latest version.

hey guys, well searching through every thread about recovery, i couldn't find anyone with the same problem as me when trying to download and install bootloaders and recoveries. when i used os-hacking's tool or another tool for lg thrill, the error "fastboot" or "usbboot" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable file, or batch files. any tip on how to fix that problem?
Make sure u have all the drivers install for omap and lg
And try manually without the tool
Using shell in the fast boot folder to enter commands

What drivers do I need besides omap? And do I need to remove any?

I have read lots of post, but could not find any post related to my issue.
After flashing different ROMs and Kernels my G2x wont boot into any ROM.
I have tried "volume up and down", it wont recognize USB.
Only way I know phone is working is that it turns on and boots only into clockworkmode recovery.
Please let me know if you know any fixes for this issue.
It kinda sounds like u may of flashed the kernel. I flashed a ics kernel by mistake on a cm7 rom and it did what you described. I used a process called nvflash.
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
How did you do NV flash I am not able to connect to pc? Is it possible to run the zip from clockworkmod?
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2
Hey man, could you give us a little more information so we could try to figure out what is causing the issue? First off, did you originally install CWM with NvFlash?
Secondly, what was the latest setup (rom, kernel, gapps, tweak/mods, etc) that you flashed and in what order? Did you accidentally format or delete something you shouldn't have? Do you have the proper drivers installed for the phone to be recognized by your PC? Since you're able to get into CWM, try doing a full wipe and reflashing rom, kernel and gapps. Make sure sure to do a full data factory/reset, wipe both caches, format /system under mounts and storage, and try fixing permissions after flashing.
I believe I had Richie MIUI rom first with Mazout360 gb kernel then then I switched to different kernel. Phone wasn't doing well with any of those kernels so I went into recovery, wiped and flashed different rom. After which my phone didn't boot and was going straight into recovery. I wiped mount data/all of them; mount and unmount /all; used volk nulifier ; used scrub. I did all of that because I was not able to use USB / power volume up and down don't work neither. I don't know what else to do.

Try using a different USB cable and then flash ROM for recovery.

PC won't recognize USB. There is no sound or anything in device manager when I connect USB with volume up and down pressed. (battery out)

Thanks, but tried that as well and different pc and different cable. I can't figure out what went wrong. Good thing is that I got spare one and g2x now is very cheap.
