I believe that's the cause
You need to hold the device at arm's length. Which is pretty far to me

I tried this, and you are right, face unlock did come up. However, the camera part doesn't even show up on my phone after pressing 'Set Up', so nothing is working. -.-
MAy be any developer can make us a flash able zip from that gaaps. I had one but that doesn't work with the latest version.

Ok, so I doctored up the existing tar from the i577 to make it smaller and more compatiable. My goal is to get users to ICS easily and with as little issues as possible like the soft key bork. So, I created a 1-Click.
Whats included:
Stock i577 ICS boot.img and system.img.ext4
Instruction:
Download Blaze_Ics.zip to your desktop
Extract zip and start the exe
Plug phone into PC and reboot to download mode
Once the 1-click recognizes your device, click the start button and wait.
Enjoy!
Don't forget to hit the thanks and/or donate!
Thanks to vivd and the rest of the guys that discovered this!
Download v1 here:
http://www.codedgraphx.info/tka/blaze/Blaze_ICS.zip
If you have issues like the soft key bork, then reflash with my 1-click Qucik Recover and then flash Blaze_ICS starter 1-click.
If you have issues with the soft keys, then perform the dialer trick to update TouchKey Firware update.

Do not flash any kernels yet. The current ones out are GB based. Our great devs will have an ICS kernel soon. You need to flash superuser http://dl.dropbox.com/u/109143594/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip after you boot ICS first. This will give you root.

When your phone is powered of completely, hold the power and volume down keys at the same time. This will then bring up a white screen with a load of text. Look at the top and if it says 'S-off' then I assume you've unlocked the boot loader. If it says 'S-on' I assume not. But this isn't always the case.
Try it anyway and if this helps please leave a thank you

That is just for HTC devices.
Just reboot your phone and if the first samsung logo when booting up disappears quickly then you have an unlocked biitloader.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The simplest way to tell is if you reboot your device and if the first splash screen that appears flashes "Samsung" really quick, then you are unlocked. If you are not unlocked it will stay up for a second or two.

What version of ez unlock are you using? Make sure you use version 1.2. The later versions don't work.
Actually they do work as I used 1.4 and the only thing is that it says unknown. Also once it gives you the prompt saying the phone is unlocked you flash a custom recovery to see if you have successfully unlocked the bootloader.

You probably flashed an incompatible kernel. Basically if you flash a kernel meant for ICS it won't work on jelly bean and vice versa.

It has been widely known/reported that 1.4/1.3 are non-functional. I think you are the first person I've seen to claim otherwise. Maybe it works for some? All I know is that 1.4 did not work for me I had to revert to 1.2, and this is the same for everyone else in the ez unlock thread on Rootz.

I'm assuming you downloaded ez-unlock from the market? That's version 1.4, which has been widely reported as non-functional. Uninstall the current app then download version 1.2 from this thread and install it:

That should fix your problem if it doesn't then there is something else wrong.

If you stop by Google and go to CyanogenMod's page, find the phone in the devices section. There are device specific guides there. If you want to try something else, go to the original development section, find the CyanogenMod ROM and follow the directions there.

Read the instructions here once rooted/unlocked
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405425
Yeah, those didn't really help me...if I gave the file on my sd card should I be able to flash it from there with rom manager or goo manager?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If you're rooted, and unlocked, do you have your nandroid backup set up with custom recovery? From there just use Goo Manager to boot into recovery, and then wipe your cache and then flash your ROM and appropriate Gapps pack. Process was fairly simple on my SIII using TWRP. Make sure you look up the appropriate Gapps zip before starting or you will wind up with key features inoperable and will have to reboot and load it onto your phone before finishing setup.
You'll like CM 10.1.x on the SIII, it runs very smoothly.
Nothing in the post I linked mentions Rom manager. The instructions work if followed.
Don't forget to do this either. Just in case. I've never had to restore, but i still have A & B covered

Not necessarily. I think I flashed my SIII with about 85%. Then again, I did most of the steps with it plugged into the charger EXCEPT for flashing the rom itself. It took about four or five minutes tops.

Ever since I uploaded from 4.0.3 ICS my phone has been getting "stuck"... The screen gets crazy if I touch it, the other buttons won't respond. The only way I seem to fix it for like 2 minutes is by locking it and unlocking it... When I bough it, it came with 4.0.3... Since then I moved from ROM to ROM...
4.0.3=>4.1.2
4.1.2=>4.2 Cyanogenmod
4.2=>4.1.2
4.1.2=>4.0.4
4.0.4=>4.3.1 BeanStalk
4.3.1 BeanStalk=>4.3 PAC
4.3 PAC=>4.3.1 BeanStalk
4.3.1 BeanStalk=>4.1.2
I left cyanogenmod because I didn't liked the look of my phone and because I wasn't able to play some of my favorite games.
I left BeanStalk because the camera.app kept crashing and forcing reboot.
I left PAC because the keyboard wouldn't show up and I wasn't able to finish the set up.
I left 4.0.4 because some apps were too new for it.
On 4.1.2 I get a lot of times stuck, but in other ROMs (even on Stock 4.0.4) the frequency of stucks were less...
I'm sorry for my awful english. I am from Argentina.
I'm really freaking out because each day my cellphone gets stuck even more!
