[Q] Hello I am looking for a store in America that I can purchase a smartphone - General Topics

Hello I am looking for a store in America that I can purchase a huawei ascend p1 simfree

Why not google it? You will get precise answer with precise location to the store.
Why not use online shopping brother?

America's a really big place, even just North America or even just the United States thereof - even that last one is a really, really big place.
It'd be best to do a bit of Google searching based on where in the whole of America you're going to be, or just buy on-line - that way you don't need to be wandering all over when it's possible no one near you will be selling that exact model.

GPS navigation software/streetmaps for Mexico

Hi!
I am living in Mexico and especially as a foreigner it is very easy to get lost here.
So I am looking for a GPS navigation software for my new HTC Touch HD with street level maps for Puebla and other major cities in this country. Buying a seperate device just for GPS (like from Garmin) is not an option.
I did some web search with very confusing results. One product I found was Garming XT which is a no go for me since - as far as I understood - it only works with the provided SD card and I do not want to touch the battery cover every time I need swich the card for running the application.
Destinator 7 seems to have a new 2008 streetmap of Mexico but I have not found a store where to buy it - just some crappy mexican internet sites which don't look very professional and trustworty. There are also some reports of a version 8 of the software but no place to buy it.
It's unbelieveable but Mexico seems to be one of the last white spots on earth regarding GPS street level maps.
Can somebody who has more experience with this GPS stuff help me out with ideas, suggestions and/or probably links to serious stores, please?
Thanks a lot in advance.
I can't help out, but I'm looking for similar for our trip across Mexico at the end of this year.
Tomtom have just released their MExico Map
XT does have the provision to show (MapQuest?) maps of Mexico, but you can buy it as a download (I'm sure.)
If you find anything else, let me know!
Buena Suerte!

[Q] Difference between US & UK tablets

Hi everyone,
I live in the UK and am wondering if I buy a tablet (namely the Nexus 10) from America will there be any difference big or small. I realize the devices hardware will be the same but for example I had a Onda v972 (Chinese tab) and a lot of App’s were not compatible with it like Instagram, Viber, TuneIn Radio, Met Office, Paypal, Gta III & Vice City to name a few and some Android specific options also differ. Will the Nexus 10 suffer the same fate if I buy outside of UK or will Google Play run and work exactly like if the tab was a UK one?
The only reason I ask is I know they are sometimes available from Google Play in the UK but a lot of people have issues purchasing and ordering them on there so if I need to fall back on buying a US one I need as much details as possible guys, thanks a 1000.

[Q] Is there any difference between the Chinese one of OPO and the international one?

I want to buy the OPO but my throwback is the country I live in, Bangladesh. As you know, 16 countries are officially available to the supply of OPO and Bangladesh is not listed on it. Surprisingly one of the dealers in Bangladesh is selling OPO at a rate of $488.75 (US Dollar) for the Chinese Version.
So my query is that is there any difference between the Chinese version and the international version or are they both identical. And why is the Chinese version so widely available where as the International version is as bad as extinct?
Anyone Help? Thanks in advance xD

Thanks. Could you tell me if I'm going to be able to use LTE and 3g in USA or in countries in Europe? I'm a student and I'm going to change countries for better education in a year. So I need to know if LTE and 3G will work properly on major carriers in USA or in countries in Europe. Thanks for your help earlier though, really appreciate the time you taken to do the researches for my help. Thanks.

I emailed Huawei USA about device, they said they had no info, ask international

I emailed Huawei USA last week asking about availability and pricing and they wrote back that they had no information and that I needed to contact the international division. So, I did, still waiting to hear back. Looks like this is not coming to the US though based on that interaction.
Do Huawei phones ever come to the US?

You can buy the Ascend Mate 2 directly from GetHuawei.com and it will work on AT&T and T-Mobile although I don't have details about full LTE speeds or not. Since Huawei supposedly created that site for american consumers to buy the Mate 2, I am hoping they will quickly make the Mate 7 available via that site and that it will support full LTE speeds - not Cat 6 since I think it is barely supported in the US (if at all) so far.
I don't see the Mate7, in the USA, being sold for the same price point as the Mate2.
Also, having owned the Mate2 for a couple months, I see the light! High class specs,
in "real world" operation, are for the birds. Yes, the Mate2 has a slower processor,
lower density screen, older android build, but, I use up two 2000 minutes, 2gb of data,
couple hundred text, emails and it works like a champ, fast, bright clear screen. For
my preferences, these "mid spec" devices work perfectly, and save me a LOT of money.

It looks like Huawei has started answering questions on their mobile store website:
http://www.huaweimobileshop.com/hua...ndroid-4-4-octa-core-3gb-32gb-smartphone.html
From Luis at 9/15/14 10:33 AM:
hello i live in newyork city ( USA ) i have 3 questions :
1- Do You Ship To United States. ( Newyork City ).
2- Which Website Can I Place My Order. And Buy The Mate 7.
3- Does The Ascend Mate 7 Comes With The Google Play Store Install.
¡¡ THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!
From Huawei Mobile:
Thank you for your mail.
We support shipping to United States,
Huawei Ascend Mate7 will be released at the end of September,
We will email you at the first time when the Huawei Ascend Mate7 smartphone be available,
you need to download the Google Play Store in the APPS center.
Looks like a couple more weeks until it's officially released. But on the bright side, it looks like it will be available direct from Huawei for shipping to the US.
Not compatible with the T-Mobile 4G LTE network, better check about AT&T to be sure

[QUESTION] Honor 8 FRD-DL00

Hi guys,
I have a few questions about my device as I was unable to find any information about my model after two hours of googling.
I bought my Honor 8 about week ago, I love the device, it is really beautiful piece of hardware.
Anyway I am located in Central Europe in Czech Republic. After two days or so I realized that my phone is not using LTE at all.
Also I updated my phone on the first day I bought it. There is Czech localization available on the phone in EMUI 5, however a lot of stuff is in Chinese (update's changelog, stock apps from Huawei, I am also unable to change HiVoice to Google assistant, etc.) and I had to install Google Play additionally as it wasn't there at all.
I was wondering if this is really a model for the Europe as the shop where I bought the phone says, or they are scammers?
My current firmware version is FRD-DL00C00B368.
I would like to know if there is a way how to switch to the Europe version of the firmware?
Many thanks you guys, love XDA, hopefully someone will have the answers.
Michal
Hi there,
What a weirdo situation. Your current model (FRD DL00 if i'm not mistaken) was taken off the shelf not a long time ago here where I live (France), even tho you can find most editions here (Including chinese and indian if you look hard enough ). Europe's standard model is actually FRD-L09
My suggestion is that you waltz back to the store and exchange your current unit for a FRD-L09. You're perfectly entitled to a refund, as european laws grant you a two-weeks arbitrary refund, and a two-year warranty. More info here : http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/shopping/guarantees-returns/index_en.htm
Tell me how that works out
Yep you got a chinese version
