Is there a thread or something that list the difference in recoveries we have available? I'm rooted and unlocked if that helps with anything.
Oh and I did do a search but it was on my phone and the results weren't what I needed.

Cwm 6.0.1.x works with everything.
I use CWM 5.x.x.x being that it is the stable release and you can install it with ez recovery. TWP I haven't messed with because it doesn't work with everything, As the post above mentioned CWM 6. Its a leaked version so it could have issues but from what I've heard works well.
How is cwm6 leaked when it can be built from source?

TWRP works fine too btw...

Flash either via odin

I still have CWM v6.0.1.0 and was wondering about the CWM v6.0.1.2, Should I go ahead and install the newer version?
(I'm a diehard Motorola user that reluctantly switched to the SCH-I535 and am very glad I did switch so this is my first non-Motorola)
I roooted the phone and installed a recovery installed black bean succesfully. when the phone rebooted the phone greated me with the verizon sign that said I was using unauthorized software take it back to a verizon store. Any ideas what did I do wrong?
I already reset it to factory with odin, but I would like to know what am I missing here?
Sounds like you didn't unlock your bootloader. Download ez unlock from the play store, unlock and try again.

let me try one more time, thanks for the quick response.
Wait a minute, are you sure you have the
Correct rom? I have not seen a blackbean rom for the verizon S3, only the international.

I believe your trying to flash the wrong Rom, your lucky it didn't brick it.

I'm noticing there's one on Rootzwiki that was released today. Hope that's what they flashed.

The rom is Baked Blackbean and its compatible with the vzw gs3... the problem is the op simply did not unlock his bootloader. Now he needs to follow section 6 of my guide linked in sig and then unlock the bootloader with ez unlock!
This time I got everything correct now, after i got my phone rooted i installed ez unlock and ez revovery, and this time booted just fine. Thanks for all your help.
Nice, now scrap that ez recovery and install rom manager. From there you can install cwm touch recovery 6.0.1.2 which is awesome. The version in ez recovery does not support jelly bean, so be careful.

I installed the cwm 6.0.1.0, is that the one you are talking about? I installed just fine fine with it, I really would like to use the touch screen one like twrp, what do you guys think about it?
Cwm has a touch version that you can install through their rom manager app. It's the same 6.0.1.2 version. EZ recovery only has the 5. something version of cwm touch which cannot be used on jb. Download rom manager app from play store, install current cwm recovery through the app, then choose install cwm touch recovery option on bottom, choose download from website (it's free there, paid through the market for some reason), choose your phone model, and that's it.

incorrect again! Imo rom manager can cause more problems then its worth...op follow section 5 of my guide for flashing anything aosp jb related.
It's not the touch version 6.0.1.2. It's the regular one. The touch available in that application is 5.8 version, not wise to run with jb. How can I be any clearer? That app will not give you cwm touch 6.0.1.2.

you dont need cwm touch...regular cwm6.0.1 works just fine from the ez recovery app. not to mention it works for everything. the reason im saying this is because new users need to learn how to manually flash things first to get a better understanding of what they are doing. rom manager can cause more trouble for folks like the op who flash things before doing research. sorry not trying to give ya a hard time as what you said is correct, i just dont think its a good recomendation for the op.
Wow, seriously, have you read the post? Op wanted a TOUCH recovery compatible with jb based rom's. That's the info I gave him on how to correctly install the most current version. Why are you trying to negate my absolute CORRECT answer to his questions?

just make sure to wipe data before flashing and you will be fine.
Hey everyone, I've been having my second brick dilemma over the past 24 hours. It seems that the latest version available via ROM Manager hasn't been installing correctly for Optimus One users (I've seen multiple cases). I'm very weary in trying to install CWM through RM again, and I want to know what the latest stable version you guys have is. Either that, or a recovery similar to CWM and can install CM10 again for me.
CWM 5.0.2.0, I have been using it for ten months without a single issue.

Alright. Do you know where I can find the recovery image? I don't trust ROM Manager to install it, as that's the one that was being installed when my phone bricked.

There's a list of flashable recovery zips in the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523050
To install, just flash them using your current recovery.

Seeing as how I have the Optimus T (Basically the One with the old BB, new one doesn't allow networking as far as I can tell), would Touch work with it? I updated via ROM this time and now have 5.0.2.0 installed. :highfive:
Stable recovery
TOUCH RECOVERY of CWM 5.0.2.7 by vivekalady is the most stable . you can get it in the forum.or u may try twrp recovery.

Thanks. As I'm using the Optimus T with an upgraded Base Band, I'll hold off on the Touch version for now, but I'll definitely keep it in mind and try it later. There's really no part of this forum dedicated to the T, because it has a weird resemblance to the One but isn't like it in all ways.
Hi
Im currently running CleanRom 3. I want to try out the new Cyanogenmod 4.2. In the description it says CWM, but i use TWRP [latest one i think]. Is it possible to install it without installing clockwork?
No U can't. Cyanogenmod after succesfull instlling, will modify CWM recovery. If you had TWRP, It would hard brick your Tablet. I'm not Quite Sure, but everyone installs CM on CWM. You'd better be carefull if you don't want to have very expensive desk.
Sorry, becouse my english isn't very well, I hope I helped you.
I use Twrp 2.2.2 all the time and. No issues with any of the 4.2 roms.
Yes you can use twrp. Just make sure you use the latest version add that is fixed for multi user support introduced with 4.2 jelly bean. Goto twrp website to make sure you have the latest. That guy in the first reply is wrong saying you have to use cwm.

I know with the last cwm update there was a problem where once you were in recovery you couldn't get out of it, it just kept booting recovery. Do you know if that was fixed in the latest version?
I don't know what you mean; with every version of CWM I have used, including this one, when you say reboot system, it reboots regularly.
Re: [RECOVERY] ClockworkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.3.0
No chocolate is right. There was a version of cwm that did what he stated. I believe it was the latest version or one of them.

thanks, yeah it was 6.0.2.9. It was a big pain, I'm just trying to make sure this one is kosher before I go through that whole thing again
I just flashed it and it seems to be running just fine. It appears you can now sideload zips to flash, but as far as the TrueDualBoot, I can't seem to find anything that seems remotely close to that. Too bad. I'd love to be able to set up a dual boot on this phone, that sounds like it would be really cool.

I had this with TWRP once. The way around it is boot into download and press the volume button for "cancel" or reboot.
Battery removed didn't help at all. Well, only to get into download mode.
