I am not a 100% sure since I am not a developer, but if I had to guess I would assume mainly bug fixes. Also, the MMS.apk is back to white for 2.56, which is the most notable change.

I love you....... :'(

In the process of trying to compile PA ver. 2.99 from the official repo, which is android ver. 4.2.1 I believe. I'll post an update soon as it progresses.
Edit: Yea I keep running into a lot of errors while building that I am not equipped to handle. Hopefully a stable build environment is released soon!

Love this soo fast night and day
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

Now that I've had a taste of 4.2, I can't go back to 4.1. But I loved PA so much that I'll come back as soon as it's 4.2. Thanks for your work.

Linaro is a toolchain that is used to compile the android source code. It's designed specifically for the ARM architecture so is able to provide drastic performance improvements. Refer to this youtube video for more of a visual demonstration comparing linaro versus non-linaro builds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrQRYmYip6Q (also linked in the OP). Enjoy!

awesome thanks for continuing PA :good:

Also, I just though I should mention that NFC isnt working for me with the Linaro build

A2Dp is not functioning well in this rom. It sounds like it's being sent over the phone codec used for calling over bluetooth. After you connect, make one call and this should reset it back to the normal A2Dp codec for playing music. This looks like a CM10 issue and I'm not sure what to do to actually fix it permanently.
Edit: Nevermind. This used to work but now it doesn't at all. Still totally unusable.

Hey guys I was wondering if anybody knew how to make the status bar transparent using apex
launcher? Thanks any help would be appreciated I can change the colors of it but I can't make a transparent

Just tested NFC on my phone and it seems to be working, so maybe try a restore or something to an earlier build!

I'm getting some MAJOR battery drain with this release. Using the Linaro build.
Pa 2.56 linao and Lk 1.10
Anyone else having battery drain? Its a very drastic difference. I can usually go a whole day without having to charge and today I've had to charge 2 different times.

im guessing audio will be partially borked in this as there are changes in gerrit that are not merged yet, and without proper workaround (found in earlier states of doubleshot repos, and teamds repos) gtalk chat and g+ hangout will be having audio issues.
I am still testing what works and what doesn't I am new to this device. I'll add the link to gaaps in a bit. Tbalden is 100% about the audio

Been running this since you posted it in the CM9 thread. Didn't full wipe when coming from Alpha 4 and I can say it's running just fine. Same bugs as Alpha 4, which I expected. Haven't noticed much of a difference at all actually but my battery life has sucked since rooting (damn you stock, I guess you are good for SOMETHING) so I keep flashing away hoping that it will improve. It may just be my imagination (or the fact that the battery is just getting more calibrated) but I have been noticing improvements from update to update. Thanks for putting these "nightlies" out there. There is definitely a place and purpose for teams testing their releases first but one of the reasons I root my phones is so I can get the first fruits and be a tester
I don't have plans to kang this, but I'm intrigued to see what people can come up with. Coming from the Glacier, I am still getting used to the comparatively low development for this device. (That's not necessarily a bad thing, 3 different devs releasing the same compiled AOKP is pretty redundant anyways.)
Thanks again.

It's Pig Latin for Gank. You know, when you take something with out asking. It's just a term given to builds based of source with out any changes. If it had mods, and other goodies it wouldn't be a kang. Then you can kang other peoples work by just changing something a simple as the buld.prop. Kang is used for a lot of things. When I see Kang next to CM9/AOSP/AOKP/MIUI. It's normally good, but a Kang of a stock Rom. Those tend to be stolen work.
Also Kanging is the act of having sex with cankles.

4.2 and 4.3 development is just getting underway. They run very smooth, it just that some things are still broken, like the camera, bln, and few little things. There are workarounds in the specific threads. Im currently running slimbean 4.3. Beanstalk 4.3 is killer too.

I see in the CM10 thread this list of bugs:
Known Bugs:
Screen of Death: This is a CM10 bug, many other devices are afflicted, not just the blaze. Many people are working hard to fix this.
UI action sounds may not work at first. Adjust the volume with the volume buttons, the sounds will then work fine. This is a known CM10 bug
BLN is wonky. Working on getting us merged with the stable version native to CM10.
Fixed 20121103+ : WiFi generates a random MAC address with each boot.
Camera: Flash can't be disabled
Camera: Storage location cannot be changed. This isn't really a bug, however if the interest is great enough, I might try and figure out a way to change the system default storage location.
Other things maybe? Discuss in the thread...

Are all of these bugs still present in the latest builds?
The latest nightly is 99.8% stable. Occasionally occasional people have occasional problems once in a while. Nothing is 100% usually. I've been running it for many months now. Just user ICS camera from the market and set it to use your sd card for saving pics.

I've since moved on from CM10. Not that it wasn't superb, but I went flash happy
I'm currently running Slimbean 4.3 20130905, and I've gotta say its pretty sweet. Its in beta stages so there will be a few bugs, but honestly the only ones I've come across so far is the camera crashes, the torch crashes, and setting performance tweaks cause a reboot. Other than that its buttery smooth. I HIGHLY recommend it, sir. Its a lightweight build for superior performance, and it delivers through and through. Also flash with the minimal gapps build to keep performance nice and creamy. Slimbeam + minimal gapps = 140mgb. Smaller than your average ROM.
I would never steer a fellow android enthusiast in the wrong direction

To be perfectly honest Liquid Smooth gave me some trouble. Even after doing a completely fresh flash it wasn't stable in the least.
That being said it never hurts to give it a shot. I saw somewhere a kernel you could flash possibly fixing any issues you may have with it. Unfortunately it didn't work for me

Not really, the only thing that still exists is the stock camera doesn't have the option to save to the external SD card. Easily fixable by using a camera from the market, like 'ICS camera'.

Beanstalk 4.4 and other KitKat based Roms.

Just wanted to let you guys know about a beanstalk build I found on goo. It's from 11-24 but it does have a handful of features some of you may be missing. So far so good for me.
Edit. Feel free to discuss you're luck, feelings, and how things are going for whatever KitKat build you're running at the moment.
I'm mainly concerned with builds like Slim, Carbon, OSE, and (Any builds LOL) that have built in settings for customizing everything under the sun. I know most everything can be done with xposed. And I've had no trouble with Xposed, but I'm just looking for roms out there that have this stuff baked in.
Thanks to all the dev's for bringing KitKat to the S3 so quickly. It's hasn't been long, and I know many Rom Groups are waiting until they can incorporate their feature set and get things stable, but the CM builds from Spencer and DMeadows have been nothing but solid for me. I just miss a lot of the little stuff. As one user suggested Gravity for Xposed works great, I just didn't want to go this route if possible.
Thanks guys for sharing all that you have to this point. I hope no one is mad or offended at me posting these things.. Everyone should know they could blow up your phone like the death star blew up alderan.

Not all links may be up to date, I haven't checked each one in a while. I've just updated the OP to try to tidy things up. If I missed a credit where credit is due PM me and I'll gladly give it. Some links I found back in December 2013, and so may be dead now. If there's anything that needs added or removed just let me know. I may not get to it immediately but I will eventually get to it. Thanks should go to the dev's and/or compiler's threads for their hard work. If you want to thank me for the links that's fine but please thank THEM.
It doesn't download for me

Pretty much all of the Devs that had a 4.3 rom have a 4.4 out by now. you just need to know how to look Running one right now

Just wanted to let you guys know about a beanstalk build I found on goo. It's from 11-24 but it does have a handful of features some of you may be missing. So far so good for me.

Thanks for pointing out.
Any additional features that are available compared to already available Unofficial CM 11 by sspencer10 ?
I searched but could not get any thread on beansstalk 4.4. Now Running on CM11 without any issues but dont mind trying something else also.
There is also a gummy build out too.

Are you using the app? I have found that Goo has not been downloading anything for a while. I have had to sideload everything. They say a fix is already done, but I have not seen it.

Where might I find that? I'd like to find a slim carbon or liquid. Anything that has net speed in the status bar. I know slim doesn't have that but it's still slick.
As far as this build. I didn't leave it on long because it lacked the ability to change the toggles. It did have some features that Spencer and meadows didn't have. But also lacked that one I mentioned earlier.
Guess I'm going to have to do some searching.... and see what else is out there.

I could not figure out how to edit in tapatalk. But I forgot to mention that yes I had some trouble getting the ROMs from goo. I had to try several times. It would say the download was starting but it wouldn't ever start.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Found the gummy build. It's from the 11-22. Is that the one you found? How are you liking it? I'll have to give it a try but I'm afraid the older builds won't be up to snuff like the cm builds from Meadows and Spencer.

Would you mind sharing the names of some you have found? I'm sure paranoid and PAC probably have builds. I can't find anything from slim or Nick. Thanks

Notta has posted an android build and I guess about an hour ago he posted an updated one....ya 11/22 is the only gummy that I know of, it was good....I'm running ose right now...pretty solid and from what I've seen more options than the others.

Thanks a bunch man. I've been looking for a fairly recent build to at least be able to edit the quick settings, and use back to kill, lock screen stuff would be nice.. Anything else, is just icing on the cake. Beanstalk did have network speed toggable for the status bar. I enjoy that.. I like to know what kind of speed i'm getting. Thanks again. I totally forgot about ose. Seems like I remember running across a kitkat from there yesterday.

PA is running awesome! I think its the best 4.4 out and I've tried most of them. Invisibleks newest is great too. But PA added some features I love like Quick Reply messaging and option to disable the button lights.

Is that with the 11/29 build? I always disable the backlight keys and just use pie and the home button only. Idk why any devices have capacitive buttons still

Me too, I remember loving it way back on Ice Cream Sandwich (iirc). Helped donate to ol'Roman to get a device. Was a great rom. Love to see it come back.
Wow this ROM made me want to throw my galaxy nexus against the wall way less awesome to see it back.

Looks great but I can't get it to detect my Sim card bummer

Make sure you use Chrome to translate. Works pretty good but I have the vendor IMG issue here and there.
Edit... Currently running with Franco R5 and have been as a Daily Driver. I am currently on an unlocked version running Verizon.

OK so is this the same ROM? The other ROM booted with a different boot screen and was a bit different. Is aokp and dirty unicorn still one in thee same?

Yeah Buddy!!! Enjoy. The smart bar animations with equalizer seem to be buggy so if you play with the nav buttons you may want toclick that off. Its a little choppy overall yet, but running Franco on performance profile is pretty buttery.
Happy romming. Found a Liquid Build the other day too. Haven't tried that out yet.

Google bullhead ROMs and browse the Android File Host Nexus 5x. Gimme a thanks if I helped. Sorry mod off topic. @jpg3927 maybe you can use the aokp thread to find a solution.
Here is bug list
- it can't catch sim card
- it doesn't have fingerprint lock

Oh yes. I liked my Galaxy Nexus, then I remember it with AOKP and it made me love it.
are open gapps good for this rom?
As @Skies/SANKE Said, official bullhead AOKP nightlies have started, I'm the maintainer
I won't open a new thread though, since this is there

open gapps work just fine, no issues to report. Google fi is working as is Elemental X. The sound menu in the rom control crashes but that is not a serious issue for me.

On a side note.. The boot animation makes my little heart happy.
Can someone share their experiences with this Rom, such as bugs, features etc
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
so far it's running good, I'm still getting used to it. I haven't found any other bugs aside from what I posted earlier. I am having trouble with tibu not uninstalling system apps and the rom doesn't take well to dirty flashing.
