One day i got annoyed by the screen continuosly turning off when i was reading or testing my apps, that's when wakey was born.
I developed it for myself mostly and shared it on the play store, i received very good feedback so far so i thought i would share it with you guys
Also you can buy a premium pack:
★AutoWake: Automatically awake when an app from the list is in the foreground
★Keep device awake when charging
★Keep your CPU awake
★Brightness controllers
★Personalize the theming of the app
It's a little simple app but it comes very handy sometimes

Hey DoubleP90!
I have been looking for such an app for a long time and this one just serves the purpose!
I like the colors of that you have used.
The app is very light and simple (as it does only one thing)
Suggestion:
Can I have an option to always show an icon on the status bar. So that I wouldn't have to launch it manually to start no sleep mode on my phone?
Thanks

Nice app but Polish translation is made by bing or Google, right?
"Wakey-wakey, Wayne!" *Batman Arkham City reference*.
Great app btw, just what I was looking for.

Update: 2nd Version of logo https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Byxlw5J4qbOvdHJ4Zlo5OGQ5WWM
PS. It would be cool if you told me the kind of font you used so I can make it match the one im using.
Hi dev, this is cool app!
But, I think it will be better if you can make it to selected apps, not in general. For example, you need the screen to not turn off on Adobe Reader application, then you can select the Adobe Reader as the application to always in wake up screen.
I hope you get what I'm trying to say.
Keep it up, dev! :good:
Great app,thanks for developing it!!!
I'll have to agree with "agayabag" would be ace if you'd add the possibility of choosing what apps should or shouldn't have the screen on wake so that each time you open a selection of apps you d'on't have to activate/deactivate wakey.
Anyways, good job so far, keep up the good work

Actually I'm from Poland, but i live in Italy since i was a little boy and i didn't have the luck to study grammar and polish language at school, i had to study it bymyself (like with english)
I know it's very wrong i did it in a hurry with google translate because i don't have a polish keyboard and i can't write polish letters, i will have to take the time and fix it, maybe with the help of someone who knows how to write better than me xD

On the do-to list but with a low importance, you can put a shortcut in the meantime, i'll add a permanent notification (you'll be able to enable this in the settings) and you'll be able to toggle it from there

Yet Another Wakey Wakey Suggestion
Though many custom ROMs have the ability to keep the display on if the device is charging, many stock ROMs don't have this feature.
My suggestion is to add an option to keep the display on if the device is charging.
Another suggestion would be to add a minimum battery level. When the device reaches this battery level, Wakey Wakey would automatically disable itself.
Thanks for a great application.
Keep up the good work...

Good idea with the charging thing, i'll add it to the to-do list
With the battery level that's a bad idea, someone might want to read even if the device has a low battery level, disabling wakey would be annoying to the user, theres a fast way to disable it in the notification bar, so if you see it's getting low you can just disable it manually

The battery thing would need to be configurable for battery level and activation. That way the user can decide if he wants to use this feature or not.
You could even add a pop up saying "The battery level is below your threshold, would you like me to disable Wakey?" or something to that effect.

But i don't see a practical use to this feature, android itself gives you a pop up when the battery is low, so then you can decide to disable wakey.
Also wakey doesn't use any of your battery, the screen does, so if you disable wakey and you keep using the device the battery will deplete at the same rate.
So if you see your battery getting low you should stop using your device to actually affect the battery life.
Due to high demand i'm working on the widget now, it's already working, now i just have to figure out how to change the ImageButton from a service
Nice app, thank you.
I'd love to see it with a function for turn on or of the backlight of phisical/capacitive buttons..

Great news everybody TimeSwipe now supports tablets!
I created TimeSwipe as a simple way to use timers in a new intuitive way!
TimeSwipe is easy, fast and reliable. Now with support on all tablet sizes, at least 7" and 10"
Well what does it do and how does it do it?
You can use it as a countdown timer or as a stopwatch. You swipe the seekbars to set a time and press start, and now you have got your self a countdown timer. If you dont set a time by using the seekbars, it will start as a stopwatch. Simple? yeah I know.
The timers run in a foreground service and the timers is visible in the notification bar. If you would turn off your phone, or the app craches (god forbid). Then everything is stored and ready to proceed like nothing ever happend on your next launch.
Feature list:
- Phone and tablet support
- Countdown timer
- Stopwatch
- Get notifications in your status bar
- See current timers in your status bar
- The new Android design on all devices from version 2.3.3 Gingerbread
You got pro?
If you get the pro version (which is awesome) you can save and reuse timers, this is really sweet and well worth 1$, since you support me and the development.
With pro you can start multiple countdown timers and stopwatches at the same time, save them, name them and reuse them. It's also ad free, phew.
You got a widget?
Nope.
But it would be a cool feature to add in the future.
Get the app
Download free version on Google Play here.
This is a lite version of TimeSwipe limited to 1 timer.
Website
Please tell me what you think about it and possible enhancements. I'm up for everything
I'm working on it constantly but at this point I'm starting to need some feedback.
Hope you'll like it

I would post in the new thread but it's not up yet. I've been using this app for a couple days and it works great, clean simple interface and easy to use. I love it. I would like it if in the notification bar the timers could be separated out and not say "two timers running". Also the ability to name them would be awesome. I'm always having to set multiple timers at work and this works great.

I cant post in that forum yet since havent been member that long. But I'm glad you like it and are using it daily
I have thought about showing two notifications when running but it cant be done unless I start up two foreground services, and that wouldn't be good for battery, if its even possible. I'm gonna try a workaround to this because I see the benefit of this feature.
I'm thinking of two renaming options:
1. The ability to set a name on a timer just like that.
2. The ability to save timers (with name) and get some history, though this solution would only work for count-down timers.
Thank you for your feedback, this keeps me going for a while In the next update it's possible to change to the dark theme, gonna be released tonight.
The new theme looks nice :good:. Is it possible to kill the alarm sound like a regular alarm? For example, you set the alarm time to go off for 30 seconds it'll keep ringing no matter what for 30 seconds, even after unlocking the phone and deleting the alarm. Sometimes the default 3 seconds isnt enough since it doesn't loop, and you're not in the room. Or if its in your pocket and it keeps ringing for a long time.

Yeah I know about your concerns and I have tried to figure out a good solution to this. Unfortunate you cant create a alertdialog like the built in alarm, since it has to be inside the app. (You dont want an alarm dialog to popup during a game) but maybe I could view a alertdialog when the user is in the app. Or add a stop alarm button.

A free version is now available on Google play, find it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unzippedlabs.timeswipefree
New version
Hi all
I have updated TimeSwipe free with a few fixes.
I removed the guide when you run the app for the first time.
The alarm should work better now and you can cancel it if you set an alarm interval greater then 4 seconds. This is also better explained in settings now.
I also added the option to not view the current timer in the notification since this updates the notification every second it can start blinking when used with other apps. So its now possible to disable that feature.
I also did a big updated of the paid version.
You can now save and rename your timers, and its super easy to access them from the side menu so you can reuse the timers over and over again. The fixes in the free version also applies on the paid version.
Hope you like the updates, and please give me feedback.
Btw, do you guys think there should be the same functionality in the free version as in the paid, but with ads? What is a good practice here?
Great news everyone!
I just added tablet support which will work on 7" and 10" displays. I also fixed the layout for phones, or rather, people with big phones
I realy hope you will enjoy TimeSwipe on your tablet as much as on your phone.
Keep me posted with feature requests or bug reports.
I updated the thread with a cool image on a tablet aswell

I'm open to any suggestions and feedbacks !
This one of these applications I always needed when trying to instruct things to people. Great to see it done!
Here's a little suggestion: Option to have an opacity layer on the screenshot in a rectangle/portion that is selected or the contrary, have the portion selected with no overlay but the rest with a more opaque layer. This can help a lot to put emphasis on certain parts without having to draw a bunch of arrows.
Still very usable, will come in handy.
Hi polobunny and thx for your kind words, it's encouraging
Regarding the overlay, I'll play around to see how can I integrate it beautifully : the point is I don't want to develop an masterapplicationwhichcandoanything, just the minimum and the needed
But your suggestion match this criteria so !

I understand your concern. I prefer applications that are not cluttered and full of functions I would never use. Already drawing on the screen is a wonderful tool, the rest is bonus.
Yeah, but I kinda also want to satisfied all people so I'm thinking about a "more" menu where I can stick the bonus fonctions
Thx again for your feedback
Installed your app earlier to try it out & I really like it so far...the only major thing that I see that would have to be changed in order for me to keep using it is there needs to be a way to move the red start/stop button to any place on the screen that we choose and hopefully resize/reduce it also and change the color of that button...I don't have anything on my phone that's red, would much rather change it to Holo blue

Hello wuzdat
Moving the button around is something I'm thinking about, the problem I have to handle is the toolbar opening (currently it's opening from left to right, so it have to be adaptive)
I'll start a todo list
Maybe just have toolbar always open in its current location & only move around the start button...just suggestion I'm not a dev so I don't know if it's possible

By the way, this is really a nice app, I could not find a similar one that would satisfy me.
If you could promote it somehow, I'm sure more people would find an appreciation for it. I'm thinking especially Note 1/2/3 users and even more so, those who migrated to an aosp rom such as myself and lost the screenshot capabilities from touchwiz.

Good concept. But it isn't showing my time spent in FB Messenger while using it in Chathead-mode. And also it's not showing times spent in Chrome/Google Now.

Yeah Facebook Chat Heads cannot be tracked by Aptrax. This is because Aptrax is only able to track foreground apps, while Facebook Chat Heads is more of an overlay over another foreground app.
Regarding Chome and Now, they are not being tracked because they are System apps, and at the moment I'm only tracking User apps. Will be fixing this issue in v1.2 though, you can expect it very soon.
Thanks for the feedback
Awesome.. Nice concept.. Clean ui...

The app is now also ranked as number 10 and 12 in Netherlands and Germany respectively, under the Top New Free Tools section.
Thank you all for trying it out and providing feedback!
Version 1.2.1

how about including an option to warn saying 'you are using this app too much' on user specified usage count?
@Mendrake thanks for a great app.
Actually I've been looking for something like this. I just have one feature request.
It would be awesome if you could backup a list of installed apps and maybe save it in the cloud or email it. This could come in handy when flashing new roms or changing devices.
Thanks
pemell
Good and useful app, but in my opinion there are too many wakelocks that prevent deep sleep: about 1 every 10 seconds with low tracking frequency.
Could it be possible to improve it?

Hey stiven, glad to see you like the app. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a device can only go into deep sleep when the screen is turned off right? If that is the case, Aptrax does not prevent deep sleep, because its service gets stopped on screen off, and starts again when the screen is turned back on.
When testing the application I made sure that it never caused any form of wake locks on the several devices I tested it on, and monitored it through Wakelock Detector. It never showed any sign of wake locks or battery drain.

Sounds like it would be a useful feature to have, I've taken note of it. Thanks for the suggestion @killoid

Hai,
There is no impact on battery life,
its a simple app,
when you clicks the icon, its executes for 1200 mili seconds that is less then 1.5 seconds and that too if you have enable the lock animations, else its just locks the device in 0.05 seconds.
The background service only used only when you enables Floating icon, and that too use very minimal RAM and remains idle till you touch it to lock the device.
once device is locked its again idle.

Dont worry,
This is very clean app, totally based on the Google standards,
I follows the best practices and recommendations.
You can check the statistics by any usage statistic apps.
How is this different from the existing various apps that does the same thing? For example "Screen off and lock" being a very popular choice.
Just like the other similar apps - this one doesnt work with nexus imprint either.
Great idea, but I would want an option to unlock as well. Some apps provide this, HOWEVER I know how much of a punch to your battery life that can be. Perhaps something could be integrated that works similar to Tasker, if that is even possible (I am not a developer, what do I know?) Something that allows automation, such as 'when both volume buttons are held for: 2 seconds: device will be unlocked.' Possible, or impossible?
Though, this would HIGHLY likely require root. The battery hog method could be an option for unrooted, and more battery efficient options for those who are rooted?

This was something that I was really curious and concerned about, and now it seems like my question has been answered and that sucks because if it doesn't work properly with Nexus imprint then this app isn't a Go for me sadly.
its very nice thanks

The design of the App UI is unique and fresh than all other similar apps.
then there are choice for selecting icons, and option to re size the floating icon and its transparency.
Those are the some unique options you want find in similar apps.
Thank you for your feedback

To make it simple and battery friendly
Hello,
Thank you for all your inputs and comments.
I am first android user then developer, and RAM Usage is always concern for me,
so i try to avoid the apps with background services and more constant RAM usage, and hence the apps those till now i developed, i tried making them clean, tried avoiding background services. always avoiding un necessary services usage.
Only Material App locker and Child Lock these are the two of my apps where i am running background service, that because its require for the Apps basic functions.
for unlocking, there was a two ways to do it, and both of them required constant background service which defiantly impacts the battery life, so dropped the idea to add unlock function,
about nexus imprint issue, i am trying to arrange the device to test and fix this issue.
will update once i am able to test on this device.
Thank you,
Yogesh dama

Hey everybody. I just published my first Android app in the Play Store (first time posting code to xda too). It's called Speedr, it calculates how much time, or how little time, you save by speeding in your car. Check out the app+GitHub and leave me some feedback for v2.0!

This app is pretty sweet. I will certainly be checking it out overtime I try a new way to and from work to see if I actually was able to save time via speeding down back roads! Nice work .

Neat idea.
Questions: Does it do any kind of logging? If so can that be disabled?
I ask because I know if I were to get pulled over I wouldn't want the cops to have any extra evidence against me.

Only app crash reports, device info, and anonymous usage statistics are sent to me for the purpose of making the app better. Personal info, speed data, speed limit data, and time saved data is not sent to me. Privacy policy is located here. Right now there is not an opt out feature. I do plan on adding an opt-out toggle in a future release once I get some more free time to develop.
ok this sounds funny and fun i will try it out.
I will definitely be downloading this.
Ever thought to add an estimate of how much more gas you're burning by speeding?

Yes! That would be a great feature. Maybe I could find stats on car models' gas consumption rates. Then have the user enter their car model so I can calculate the extra money that speeding costs. Even if speeding does save you time it may not be worth it due to the extra gas costs.

Yes, my thoughts exactly!!
Possibly the user could even create vehicle profiles so they don't have to re-enter every time! (thinking of those lucky enough to own multiple vehicles here)

Haha being a single car owner myself I would not have thought about that. I'll put "multiple car profiles" on the to-do list as well.

Just an idea -- if you can poll the list of bluetooth pairings (including active one(s)), you could then tell the cars apart by their BT mac.
That's a brilliant idea. UI is neat, minimalist. I like it. I can suggest adding backup option for history, sync with Google Drive, etc.

Very Cool, I like the ideas already coming in!
If your app takes off, google should buy it and integrate it into navigation or google now!
I can see the google assistant saying "speeding will save you X amount of time, but you will spend X$ more than usual on your commute" haha!
I've got a problem I don't know how to solve. I created HERE Maps dev account to get more acurate speed limits but I don't know how to eneter app id and so on. I typed it in but it has not been saved, there is no login button whatsoever. How do I do that? (Great idea for the app by the way)

Open the settings of the app. Put the appid and apptoken in there. Then, to make sure your account is activated click the "HERE MAPS" button at the top of the screen so switch from OpenStreetMap to HERE. Now on the main screen you should see the HERE logo like in this screenshot.

I came up with that myself to be honest but when I go to the settings page again the App ID is not showing, so I assumed it's not working. So, if the HERE symbol is on the front page, then everything is set up correctly?
Integrate with Driving Mode?
This is a cool idea! Will be trying it out this weekend for sure.
I was just wondering if it was possible to auto recognise when driving mode is enabled/disable and therefore start and stop recording?
