According to Htc, and *****ing at their managers for an hour, I came to find out that they are currently working on a rom update for the Tytn II/Kaiser/Tilt to be released before mid febuary
-------------------------------------
In my opionion this is way to long!!!
----
They also said they cannot release any more details, although the only reason it is taking so long is because that they are trying to fix multiple things not just the video issues and they are trying to put them all into one package instead of having 10 different packages at once.
nice, thanks for the info.
i'll keep an eye out.
any more details, wm 6.1, gpu driver???
yup. do u have more details? or where we can find details about it?
(in my concern, they said me that they will send me an email when new updates are available )
Hey if they said they are working on a new rom update, that is WONDERFUL news!!!!!
Not to sceptical but...
Not to be downplaying the situation...but I will believe when I see it.
If its 6.1 ill crap myself.
If its 6.01* ill tell you all 'I told you so'
*6.01 meaning just a rom update, not an OS update
I believe they will release an updated ROM for the Kaiser, but I don't think it will solve the video driver issue.
HTC seems to ignore anything about this issue, and said they won't fix it.
However, I hope I'm just wrong and they do release a fix!
doubtful..
I dont care if it's 6.0 or 6.1 as long as the significant issues are fixed, like video drivers, laggy touch screen, freezing for 3 or 4 seconds at a time, PIE lag, and crappy camera.
rant
It really sucks that we are holding a powerful phone but cant use its true power, its just like owning a ferrari enzo and not being able to drive above 25mph. Maybe they wont fix it and just release a new phone with everything working and calling it tytn 3 with the same inside but a new case.
Sent a mail to HTC, will see what they will reply as to what the situation is. I hope for video driver fix at all!

Ahu..We will see..
yaaaay. cant wait.
look forward to upgrade
i hope they put their backs into it.. tired of this video issues...
I called HTC Middle East Support ; and they confirmed that they do not know this issue ? !! and I think they are not understanding what we are talking about !!
Maybe they will do it like Nokia and release a Tytn IIi and let the customer pay for fixing the Tytn II
edit: Oh and did I mention the Tytn IIi will come in a new color? Uh will definately get that one ;-)
(yeah, I'm a former Nokia N95 owner)
seeing is believing.. don't get your hopes up
Well lets just hold thumbs that it might just be 6.1 !
I hope they take care of the #$*@$!!$^@(!!!!! low bluetooth volume.
Seeing this photo from an unboxing post. It shows the Sensation running Android 2.3.3. This means it does not have the WiFi security fix that is in v2.3.4.
To me, this is one more reason why I'm waiting till the Sensation is unlocked before buying one. Because I need to be able to quickly apply updates via custom ROM if the carriers are slow in releasing them.

Someone else mentioned in the DHD thread, that Google were fixing stuff server side also to encrypt things.
I'm sure we'll get an OTA soon enough if it needs to be fixed.
Rejoice!!!!, O2 sensation and sensation xe users on stock roms will get the ics update tomorrow..... Looking forward..... :~}

Hmmmm, it's all very confusing.....
I can confirm that my brothers HTC Sensation, O2 UK branded has just received the update... So, check manually and you should get the update
edit : it just finished updating and first thing i noticed is the ugly o2 boot up screen lol
it didn't have the o2 splash screen on gingerbread but now they seem to have put the splash screen on ics :/
^^^^ is that the blue bubble looking screen?, I've had that on gingerbread all the time, it's awful lol. I'll try for the update when I get in....
I too have the O2 start up screen on gingerbread
Update received on my O2 branded Sensation.

but, this update is actually really good... phone runs much smoother
Still waiting for my update on O2 - Sensation XE
Can anyone post the update for me to flash to return to stock O2? I need to return my Sensation to O2 due to constant "SD Card Unexpectedly Removed" Errors and don't want them to know I've been messing with it...

you are better off starting a new thread or use the search funtion
not all people will open this thread... and don't forget to tell about your current rom, s- on/off etc
Not here for me yet...... :-(
Can someone upload the update to an online mirror?
still no update for me
Apparently o2 have found bugs in the ics release and are working with HTC to iron them out........ So we'll probably see it towards the end of the year.
Updating my phone now
some posts on O2's twitter feed saying Sensation XE update is available toady and to keep trying manual update.
I have tried numerous times no update for me yet.
i've just tried, still nothing for me......
Just spoke to an "O2" Guru and they have confirmed HTC/O2 are releasing ICS today and it will be rolled out in stages.
Downside - SkyGo no longer recognises the phone.
Guys,
Incase you didn't know, doesnt appear to be common knowledge yet, but i just had a tip off, checked updates and low and behold, an update is available.
Im carrier unlocked, so it may be a while coming to you, but keep checking.
Strangely about still reports OSversion is 80.10211.204?
On the face of it, it appears to be a quite a big release, after installing and restarting a couple of time, you get presented a 'migrating data' screen, in all takes 10 minutes from starting the install.
Whats changed...?
Well i dont know yet, still installing, but thought id give you all the heads up.
Will report back when installation has finished.
Ciao.
Interesting find! Receiving the update as well now (unbranded). Makes me curious as of what might have changed.
Strange, but the "Windows Phone 8 update history" on microsoft site nows nothing about this update.
UPD:
Some Sina Weibo account could be added.
If you read OP message carefully, OS is not updated. It is probably just a HTC firmware update. Not a WP8 OS update.
Well it isn't an os update, so its from htc, as to what its done i don't know. I didn't note my firmware version before updating so i cant tell you lol. Device feels faster but probably placebo effect. Anyone notice anything?
Sent from my Windows Phone 8X by HTC using Board Express
Update
Both Firmware & bootloader versions have changed.
FW updated from 20003.111 to 20005.111

Contacted HTC support today, no changelog, they dont know (or wouldnt say) whats been updated, they said to contact MS for info, which ive now done.
Be interesting to know what else has changed.
I noticed this as well as I am always checking for updates in the hope some amazing new features will be added to WP8, wasn't unfortunately, as mentioned above a firmware update and rom loader version update.
Phone seems faster but we are all probably imagining that!
Any information on what this update contains would be appreciated
A little extra boost on battery life would be nice, not that my 8X has a bad life, but its not the best ever.
Hi
My 8X Just back from technical support and as already the new bootloader version (0.0.1532.20(162966)
It seem now i can't flash via Goldcard method! :crying: (i can't unbrand it this time!)
And after reset there is a gears turning during 5 mn on screen! I Never See This Before....
IF YOU WANT TO UNBRAND YOUR 8X DO NOT UPDATE NOW.
My batterylife seems to be better - my device would get pretty hot while using Whatsapp or reading pdf files or things like browsing, but not anymore since this OTA update!
One thing I have noticed, is that the phone sometimes has a 1-2 second delay after tapping the Back key. so sometimes I press back twice because the phone didn't seem to response to the first tap but it did in fact, so I double tap out of an app which is pretty annoying. But if thats all, well, I'll just use the windows button instead haha.
Anyone noticed that under Advanced (Wifi) you have the ability to let the phone detect your location for better wifi re-connection? At least I didn't notice this option before the patch. Pretty sweet! Doesn't seem to impact my battery too much, I usually finished the day with 25%, now I still have around 50-60%. Might be placebo, but it makes me smile when I see other people running for powersockets with their iPhones/Androids
Hi,
I have an HTC from USA AT&T, I have firmware: 1532.20.10009.502 and bootloader: 0.0.1532.20(156201),
Why this numbers are far enought from the one you are saying and when I look for updates it say it is updated.?
Well, the device is certainly booting faster, so that is a big :highfive: in my book
Is this update on Verizon.
Check the volume guys, same as Lumia 800. Restricted
Haven't received anything yet! Unbranded 8x here! Are they distributing this one by country or what?
Just had update here on O2 UK...
Only difference I have seen so far is a Hearing Damage Warning when putting the volume over 20 when listening to music....to be fair, mine never actually hits more than 15....

well, I had the update two days ago. The volume is not restricted, just that now when you turn it up above 20/30 while playing media content, it will give you a message about blasting your eardrums out. Probably they forgot to include that before as the 8X is quite capable of high volume output. Just some legal precautions. Other than that, it's just a FW and boot loader update from HTC side, not from MS.

i don't know how they decide which devices get the update, but it isn't depending on Country as my father got the update 3 days ago and i'm still with the 20003 Firmware
but as Long we don't Need to wait too Long i think it is acceptable

You got that update while being on the leaked version of portico?
Is it just me, after the update, stopped the clock in HTC application on the tile?

My Phone just got a notification again for 2.55.401.3 which is from 28/09/2020
Note: My phone is already on 2.55.401.3 since last year.
Anyone get this notification?
It seems dodgy given its over a year old.
Yes, I got the same update, 1.6 GB update with no changes at all.
HTC.

Seems odd right? - I won't be touching it for the meanwhile.
I've reached out to HTC but god knows if they'll bother getting back.
I don't think they will ever reply, htc has one of the worst community support teams

Is it legit then? - I couldn't find any info about this online.
No update since 01/09/2019 (2.55.401.1) and today, a new firmware => 2.55.401.3. I made a successful update and after restart => 2.55.401.1 from 01/09/2019 ...
No Android 10, 11 => HTC sucks !!! I bought HTC smartphone since QTEK 1010 (2003, near 20 years) and they **** on their customers 2 lasts years...
I will never buy HTC product !
@ShadowTrader: did HTC reply you?
@nenebear : do you happen to know what is chanfged? Security patch level is still at August 2020?
Maybe it is a patch for Log4J vulnerability?
Also, I tried to contact HTC but the first thing they ask on their support website is my phone's IMEI. As soon as I enter it, I'm told my phone is out of warranty and It won't even let me chat with someone
Is it possible they are coming again for smartphone manufacturing? Maybe they are building teams to develop and continue from where they stopped with u12+... That would be cool to see. I'm not expecting any major update for u12+ but I would like to see them to make smartphones again and keep their word like before.
Being using htc since the m7 and that was the best experience I had with any brand I owned so far! Good software and hardware! No one needs updates every month when it is working as expected! And the updates always had some increment in functionality and usability!
But maybe I'm just daydreaming ahaha
