Hello all,
I just wanted to share the Bike mount I am currently usingg for my Nexus 4.
In fact, I use the one for Galxy SIII, that I slightly modified for the power button.
The phone fits perfectly and the whole package is quite easy to install and remove.

so expensive
This is soooo much cheaper. I'm going to test fit my N4 this weekend at the store.

$60? Count me out.

damn that is awesome. i didnt even think i needed one of those until he mentioned navigation.
Cheaper but nowhere near as cool, I have this and it fits my Nexus 4 and the slim case perfectly:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006N0T674/
It was able to fit my old Galaxy Nexus, too, but the Galaxy Nexus was always harder to slide back out.

Its actually really cool in my opinion if it would fit. You could squish your sandwich behind your phone! But seriously, timbuk2 has great construction. Take a closer look at the materials and construction. Its pretty sweet in comparison.

Re: Bike mount for Nexus 4 (hint: The Galaxy SIII fots perfectly!)
Update on the Timbuk2 Goody Box... It's a no go. I finally got to see one today, and to my surprise is a lot smaller than I expected. You might get an iPhone 5 in there, but A Nexus even without any case is just too tight.
A second problem with it is that the flap at the top doesn't cover the opening to the phone pouch... So it's not at all waterproof.
Hope this comes soon enough to save someone an order...

Yeah. I was awaiting your response before ordering and from other reviews, figured it wouldn't fit. I think I could make something similar when I get some hobby time, so thanks for sharing!

Hi,
can you tell me what is the modification that you made in the case?, I mean, in order to use the power bottom.
Thanks in advance.
Check also here my cheap solution, for holding precisely the nexus when it doesn't have any case.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41622884
This is what I use
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008CMWY66/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I can use this case with a TP case on my phone. An external battery pack also fits in the case behind it, with a mini USB cable with a right angle fitting. Its waterproof and can be used through the window and can rotate to landscape/portrait.
Rob
Thanks to both, but I had ordered the case described in the 1st post, maybe if I had asked first... now it is late. Anyway, I think those solutions can help to people who are looking for a bike mount.
Thanks!
Finally, got this "Bicycle Bike Cycling Roswheel Frame Pannier Bag Front Tube Bag Phone Cell." Purchased it on Amazon and received this about a month after I ordered it (comes from China)
I have a diztronic case and it does fit very tightly but without the case, an excellent fit.Bag attaches to the frame and stem. Has a compartment to put your keys and wallet. Will try to use it today since its been raining off and on here in NYC.

I havent taken pics of it but, the bike mount I purchased ("Bicycle Bike Cycling Roswheel Frame Pannier Bag Front Tube Bag Phone Cell)"is pretty good. Fits real snug with my diztronic case but, i take the case off. can put keys, wallet, unless its filled like George Costanza's. Reading it while riding in the sunlight is a no go unless you stopped to look at it. You can also put an mp3 player and run the headphone cord from the bag.
I'll take pics and add later.
I have now done this, see http://wechook.com/?p=135
I've had the opportunity to test both http://www.ibikeconsole.com/ mounts suitable for Nexus 4, the GS3 and GS4 models, and in my humble opinion GS3 mount is better for Nexus 4:
* It fits better, GS4 has more space in there and it is tighter (for a bigger and thinner phone), GS3 fits like a glove with no issues;
* Camera window matches on GS3 with Nexus 4 camera, when on GS4 the window is in the middle so no camera there;
* On the other hand, GS4 mount has a headphone hole in same place as Nexus 4, when with GS3 mount you are out of luck;
* Both mounts have power button lower that on Nexus 4 so a tie here;
So if You came here for Nexus 4 mount, GS3 is the one! Unless You prefer headphones over camera, Nexus 4 still fits in GS4 mount, it is just harder to close it, I did not try the waterproofness of it but it looks like it seals completely.
With the mount, we can use N4 as a GPS~~!!
It`s very nice.
But the battery may gone very fast!

I got tired of waiting for a charger next to the bed. I came across this on Amazon:
http://goo.gl/TCXCw
Its the Samsung desktop charger. If you look at the image of it,it fits my nexus 4 perfectly.
My first thought was... hmm I plan on a case yet too. The thing is, the phone sits a bit forward so I think there is enough clearance on the back of the phone. I have my case coming ( http://goo.gl/tHhAo ) on Monday. Even if its a bit tight on the left and right side of phone, I could always take the dremel to the sides of the cradle a bit. I do not think it will require much shaved off.
It sits really nice in the dock and is very stable. Plus I put a nice NFC tag on it so it does all the auto stuff as soon as I slip it it.

Can you please please please report back when you get your case and let us know how it goes? Looking for a cheap solution like this to use at work but I'm also using this case: http://goo.gl/HfhhW
I sprung for the fancy panasonic wireless charger for home/bedside but I'd like an upright dock at work to be able to use it as a clock/newsfeed/etc.
Thanks!
So if it fits perfectly without a case I'm figuring a bumper won't work here?
EDIT: Just saw that you mentioned that, I meant width wise since the bumper makes the phone noticeably wider.
I bought the same, works perfect, use the LG charger though, the dock bundled one is 700mah
One more thing, no cases will (probably) work with this, I use w/o case.
Another thing, if you want to do that math here're the dimensions infuse 4g dimension and nexus 4 dimensions
upon comparison, seems like galaxy s3 dimensions are close match too!
the case I ordered has shipped according to amazon. I will get a picture of the base with the phone on it (with the case).
I hope I will be able to just take a tiny bit off and it will work in the dock with the case. You have to love the dremel

I have the same dock (desktop version and a separate car version) and the Google bumper. They do not work together.
I'm wondering if a note 2 dock will work with a N4 with bumper case. I'll have to do the math
EDIT: well, the Note 2 is 80.5mm width, the N4 width with bumper is 74mm. It would wiggle in the cradle.

Wait ... I currently use an Infuse and have a car dock. Are you saying teh Nexus 4 will fit?
My Nexus 4 is on order and in theory should have arrived today. I'll report back ehre when I try it too, of course.
I was debating between the Nexus 4 and the S3, and did finally also order the S3 from AT&T by talking them into letting me upgrade early.
I KNOW the S3 fits the Infuse car dock, I've used a friend's, and it would be incredible if the Nexus 4 fits as well!
Just got mine and it's great! The phone slips in and our with ease and I don't care about the slower charging speed as the pine only goes in the dock at night (so I can use the phone as an alarm clock)

pics coming shortly.. I grinded the sides a little and it works perfect with the tpu I bought in the first post..
Here are the pics. Its actually is hardly noticeable when the phone is docked.
Both the dock and the case were linked in the first post btw..
I plan on ordering a 2nd dock for the office..

Preferably one that mounts to the handlebar stem. Anybody have any experience with different brands? Its going on my mountain bike so needs to withstand some jarring around. Not worried about protecting the phone, thats what my Best Buy accidental damage plan is for . Im familiar with the Topeak brand but not hot on the case it goes into. Thanks in advance!!!
Trident makes one for the Kraken case. It mounts to the bar but it does hold the phone very security.
Hope this helps

Dunno. Never owned an S3. + Im not going to tell someone to get something if its not spec'd to the device.
Like I said, I emailed them and hopefully within the next couple of days they will reply.
However, I did find some specs on the S3 and S4 in the meantime.
136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9mm S4
136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm S3
You be the judge.
My wife has an S3, some stuff fits (like the armband), but I wouldn't bank on hardcases or anything like that fitting.

Here's the response from GMYLE
Dear
Thank you for the inquiry. Actually the cover fits S4 as well basically, but the earphone position is not really accurate.
Regards,
Loch
I sent another email asking if it works with/without headphones being that he said it wasn't accurate......a lil more information would be nice.
......so I don't know. Its only $25.98, so it would be a huge loss to try.
Rok Form Makes one that seems pretty beast, peep it.

+1 for RAM mounts. There a bit pricey, but very rugged and worth it in my opinion. I went with this one.
RAM Universal Finger-Grip™ Phone/Radio Holder
its completely adjustable to hold any smart phone too.
Update on the case I posted about.
Thank you for the mail. It can fit a S4 in, but the headphone plug is not guaranteed to work. According to our product promotion staffs, there will not be one for S4 yet.

Loch

I've been jealous of my friends Quadlock for their iPhone on their bike, it seriously has protected and survived everything, but i have an S4 so all i can do is be jealous! I have the Universal Adaptor for my phone, but i want a pretty case too!
They're soon to release an S4 case, but right now i just have an adaptor... I'm waiting
So I ended up with the Rokform!! and this thing rocks!!!
So I ended up with the Rokform V3 bike mount and V3 case. It was just released for the S4 about a month ago. This thing is awesome!! Durable and made in the USA.... Cost was about $90 but worth every penny for the serious mountain biker or enthusiast. Check out their website www.rokform.com. they have some videos on YouTube also....

To be completely honest, since its still early on in this phone's life... The "best" ones would be the universal pouches that strap on to your bars or stem, much like this guy right here http://www.amazon.com/ChargerCity-Motorcycle-Smartphone-Restistant-Protective/dp/B00DVTL4PW/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1397302416&sr=1-3&keywords=galaxy+s5+bike+mount... Give it some time and better stuff will come out.
I am waiting for some myself since I used my GS3 with Endomodo and Strava constantly.

Keep an eye out on RokForm (www.rokform.com). I used their cases on my S3 and S4 and have the bike mounts installed on all 3 of my bikes. Looking forward to getting their case for my S5!
Edit: Just preordered!
http://www.rokform.com/samsung-galaxy-s5-case/
Don't listen to the silly universal ones..
You want the best mount?? I'll tell you what the best mount is!!
It's a case.. That's right.. After riding 150 miles a week for many years and having all sorts of cycle computers, I wanted something CLEAN!! I bought a two piece case, like an otterbox (I forget the brand) and simply mounted the plastic to a typical ring clamp on my bike. I drilled/glues into the clamp so it was secured as could be!
When it was time for ride time, I would simply slide the rubber case (the second piece) around my phone than secured that into the mounted plastic case (The first piece)
It was 100000x better looking, it was actually USEFUL as you could use it while riding, it was also extremely secure! and could never come out without the proper bending and normal way you would take a phone out.

This was mounted so I could adjust on the fly, I used one of the garmin computer clamps I had laying around that would twist sideways and up and down. so when I got going I can adjust the phone so its angled with the wind and won't be a mud flap
just got one of these.. its absolutely amazing. works perfect with a case as well. http://www.niteize.com/page/Handleband-Nite-Ize.asp

I Have one on my S5 great holder i also go the car mount at the same time , again second to non ...
One draw back its a little thick for the wireless charging to work.
I have a Samsung S5, and ride the bike to and from work daily. I just installed a Rokform stem mounted kit and case on my road bike stem, and rode to work with my beloved S5 firmly attached to the stem mount this morning. All is well, so far, as I experienced Strava talking to me throughout the ride about how I was doing! Times on segments were announced real time, as the prior 6,000 miles Strava was buried in my seat pack with my phone set to SILENT.
This stem mounted kit seems very solid, in every way. It is secured by the case for the phone, two magnets, and a lanyard wrapped around the stem, just in case. I'll check back in a few weeks once I have some miles on the case and mount.
Guys, what do you think about this one?

Anyone seen an armband or maybe either a waist pack for a running belt that would hold the Note 4? I'm trying to find something that can hold it in an Otterbox case without having to take it out of the case for each workout. I can't even find an armband that would fit it naked and it doesn't fit in my Nathan running belt's pouch.
Won't let me post a link, but search SPIBelt on Google. I use one with my note 2 with a large case, haven't tried to fit my note 4 in it yet. They work great, if you have it adjusted right, and are wearing it correctly, it doesn't bounce around at all, and you can hardly tell it's there.

This is what I purchased for my note 3 and still using it for my note 4. I have an armband for the note 4 as well but I can't tell you how ridiculous it feels and looks having a 5.7 inch phone on your arm. Might as well carry a boombox like the 80's...Seriously though I catch a good ribbing from friends who say I have a fanny pack but the spibelt is barely visible and you don't even realize it's there, holds phone, keys, cards, etc... I can do running and jumping rope and nothing moves in it. It just stays put, it's fantastic.

This belt goes over my shorts and my shirt covers it, nobody sees a darn thing unless I am pulling my phone out of it. But if you think a gigantic phone strapped to your upper arm looks any less funny, you are nuts! Besides I could care less how it looks, it holds everything I need it to so when I go jogging I don't have a phone on my arm, and keys jingling in my pocket. If I need to change music I just use my bluetooth headset or moto 360.

This might work. Used it with my G3. Have not tried it with my N4. It had lot's of stretch room.

I have one of those too. Used it for my note 2 since using an arm band was extremely awkward. Lol. Works real well.

So.. I ordered the SUPCASE Armband. I would not recommend this case in any way for using it as an armband while running. It's basically just an extremely flimsy Silicone/TPU bumper case with two holes in the back for the strap to run through. From the pictures on amazon it looked like it was going to be made out of some sort of Plastic/Silicone. But I wouldn't dare go running knowing that any minute my $700 phone to flip right out.. or go kaaboom from the silicone ripping around the band. Anyways.. have it on eBay now.
Bump.
I want an armband because in the gym I use equipment and do exercises that would put pressure on something attached to my torso. Any more learnIng since November 5?

So this is the one I've made my everyday use. Absoutley ZERO rain or sweat gets into it. Stays in place and super comfortable. Hands down the best armband I've ever used. Expensive option in my opinion but after owning its worth every penny. They should carry these in your local Best Buy store.

So this company makes one called the i-40 and is their biggest model designed to hold both Note 4 & iPhone 6 plus. The one I have (i-35) will not allow for any case at all.. Very tight fit and from their website says its designed for the Note 3 but once I tried a test fit in best buy I decided that one would work for me. I can only assume that the next largest one should be able to fit the Note 4 with a case...no problem. It's also $5 more for the i-40

Bought this one in blue. Fits my versus Thor case and n4. I have 19" biceps and it holds well.

I know these are meant for bicep mount... Has anyone tried forearm mount?
I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ID1I2XK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It is snug with a Spigen Neo Hybrid case on, so it might not fit with the Otter Box. I use it at the gym only so I don't know how water proof it is.
I just wanted to mention, that ProClip's "Medium Universal Adjustable Holder for devices without a Case". Fits the MXPE perfectly at its maximum size setting.
Feel free to share about other car holders.
Thanks for sharing that. I know ProClip is working on a MXPE holder, but from what I've heard, it probably won't be ready for a couple of months. Good to know that will work, as well.
I got an adjustable ProClip holder all the way back when I picked up my iPhone 3g brand new (2008). Well I've been using the same adjustable one for the iPhone 3g, 3gs, 4, 4s, Lumia 920, LG G3 and now my MXPE and it fits with a case on it at the maximum width. So I'm pretty happy to have the same holder (just changed the mount for a new car) since 2008 . Money well spent back then.
I bought a Kenu Airframe +. I had the old version for my Nexus 5 and really liked it.

I like that CD slot holder. I can't use any a/c vent option here in the hot, humid south. I used to have one with my Nexus 5, but every time I'd take it off the mount in the summer, the whole phone would condensate and I'd have to worry about water damage.

Works great with my Moto X Pure, iPhone 6S. Used it in the past with the Samsung S6 I had briefly.

Does this trigger any docking mode for the pure?
Oh I never thought of something like that. I will investigate that idea further.

I can definitely vouch for this one. I have been using it since August of last year. It's held an LG G3, Nexus 6, Galaxy S6, Nexus 6 and now a MPXE. It is phenomenal.

It looks like it only grabs the phones sides and doesn't support the bottom... has this been an issue for you or anyone else at all? I haven't used a car mount in a super long time, so I'm just not sure what's normal anymore!

Yea now that I think of it does this not mess with the buttons on the side of the phone!? I would imagine that they would get pressed by how tight you would need to make this for it to be secure while in portrait mode.

This has not been an issue for me. It only grips the sides but holds it firmly.

No it doesn't, you can place it so that the volume buttons are just above the side clamp and it still holds it well.
Looks like they made a smaller one: http://www.amazon.com/Koomus-Pro-CD...1445625119&sr=8-1&keywords=Koomus+Pro+CD+Slot
I was gonna go with the Nite Ize Steelie, but instead I went with this magnet holder..which seems to be a slightly smarter concept:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q8XGLA6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Seems gimmicky but people seem to like it in the reviews and I was impressed with my buddy's steelie (lol), so I will let you know how this holder works out.
Get's here tomorrow (thank you free Amazon prime deals)

The problem is attaching the magnet to the back of your phone. The Pure is round and textured. The adhesive magnets don't stay on the back of the phone unless it's attached to your case.

I put on the back of a matt black TPU case, which I reserve for my car use. It works very well. Best holder I've ever used. I will take some pictures later.
The RAM-mount FingerGrip holder has served me well. Fits just right at the max adjustment with a bumper case on. I have a suction cup mount for the car and a U-bolt mount for the dirtbike. It's extremely secure.
