Update to latest JB if update isn't available in my country - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A week ago bought n8000 with ICS on it. For now, just rooted the tablet. I want to upgrade to stock jelly bean but it is not available to tablets that bought in Ukraine. How can I still update it? Rooted it with exynos abuse apk. Which recovery is the best for it? And last, how to configure my 16gb sandisk ultra to enlarge storage space?
Thanks for helping

Just download the firmware for somewhere like the UK and then flash it with Odin. Once Ukraine is released then replace the UK Rom with same method.

Actually Ukraine is one of the lucky nations for which it seems that the stock JB has already been recently released by Samsung, and the firmware is already available at SamMobile (search for N8000) and samsung-updates.
Are you sure there's no update yet for your model?

Just turned on the tablet and the first thing that I see is the jelly bean update notification. Funny that asked about it just few hours before.

[Q] GT-N8010 Latest Update

Does anyone know where I can get the latest GT-N8010 update for the UK or similar?
I'm rooted with CWM6. I assume I'll have to un-root my device and then inject the ROM with Odin, too?
Try sammobile. They have the latest official firmwares which you can flash with odin.

I tried that, the most up to date ones are Germany and Taiwan. Their UK one is actually a shop stock, ironically enough.

Am planning on flashing ALI 3 tomorrow. If you look at the German one I think it has a UK CSC. Sam mobile is what I am looking at.

Yeah, I actually noticed that! I injected the ROM last night. Turns out that the S-Note is gubbed for PDF's. I had such good luck with it before, as well.

I've got the n8010 in the uk. I've never flashed another rom or rooted yet and there is not update available for my device via ota or kies, so im guessing there is no update officially yet.

The updates official. It was downloaded from sammobile. It's just that Samsung always tend to take a lot of time before actually releasing updates. They're special like that.
Try this, works fine N8010-XXALI3-XAALI3-DBT-deodexed

[Q] US AT&T A2 soft bricked while OTA and another question

hello
well to make it short i bought the atrix 2 from the US early when it came out and then i came to Dubai and all the annoying bloatware for AT&T have became more annoying by (NOT WORKING) when i was leaving i called them and they gave me the unlock code so im using the phone in Dubai, UAE and its working great, im on Victory Rom (Best rom ever) clean and elegant.
---------
now i found there is official ICS firmware for UAE Retails and it has the same number as my phone MB865 so my question is: can i flash that firmware to my AT&T phone ? and incase that is not possible, if i want a clean ICS ROM (made from the official OTA update not the leak) where i can find it ? and lastly if all is not possible what is the cleanest quickest and best ROM and will it work if i update to OTA ICS ?
sorry for taking too long and Thanks in advance
----------
that was what i wrote earlier but now i tried to do OTA and the phone stuck on the dual core technology screen so im thinking to Fxz but i dont know if i should do it for GB 2.3.6 or ICS ?
thanks a lot

To be very honest with you and AFAIK no one had tried to fxz to ICS from GB.but in theory it should work.
But this is what I'll suggest fxz to 2.3.6 and try OTAing.it should take you to ICS directly.

Ok so get this very clear if you phone it's AT&T one(it has AT&T written on the bottom) then you can't flash any other firmware.your only option is the AT&T firmware( from here).
And there are lots of ROMs that you can try.
StockyEd is pure OTA version of ICS.
Others are Numa, swifty trix ,scv7.Also we have CM10.

Saw no post anywhere and its E1 but it's one day newer than E2
With new firmware, beweent change log number and build date, which one is more acxurate to indicate that is a newer firmware? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
Not sure why everyone talks about build date.
The changelog is going to be your one guarantee that a firmware is in anyway different or identical to the one you already have
Quite often build dates might be different because of scheduling of the coding etc

Thanks for this. As a new comer to the Android world and having just got my S4, I note this is the firmware on my phone (online import to Australia). However, could you confirm for me:
this is a link to the Stock ROM should I need to return the original OS,
that despite this, I can still follow published methods for rooting my phone (eg "Root the Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean using Motochopper tool",
there is no problem with me moving to a British based Custom ROM such as described here "Update Galaxy S4 I9505 to official XXUAMDM Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Firmware", and finally
Does the region software is designed for (eg Hong Kong vs Europe) have an impact on the phone's functionality and hardware abilities?
Many thanks
Gotta keep a eye on SamMobile as they are faster with Firmwares

I wish somebody would have mirrored.. HotFile sucks
Yep
Really don't understand why they keep uploading them on hotfile, when there are far better alternatives.. or why not they could even make a torrent for the most desired builds.
Anyway.. thanks!
Now just have to wait 2 hours for this to dw despite having a 100mbps connection.

All stock can be upgraded without wipe etc. Just use newest rom with odin
Region dont have any difference as long as rom is for your model. Dont try to flash rom for other model. You can eg flash brazilian firmware made for 9505 to simfree uk phone etc.

P5110 4.0.3 lag

Just bought a tab2.. And experiencing a Lot of lag on it! I've already rooted and got rid of most of Samsung bloatware.. Used greenify to to stop majority background apps as well.. Is there anything else I could do? There is no jelly bean update for Australia yet.. Any official roms o. For 10.1" tab2 of jellybean... Would going to jelly bean even help with lag??

Stuff waiting for official Aussie updates, there hasn't been one since they came out in 2012.
Go to Samfirmware.com and download the latest JB 4.1.2 Netherlands version and install it with Odin 1.85
It has English Australia settings on it and its official so it doesn't increase your modded firmware counter.

Yes you could do that or you could just keep an eye on Samfirmware.com and install the latest rom of your choice from wherever you choose.
I usually stick with the European ones as they always have English Australia language.

Kies doesn´t find the KitKat Update [GT-N8000]

I heard that the Note 10.1 2012 got finally the KitKat Update but Kies say that my firmware is allready the newest.
Are you sure Germany got the KitKat update? What about the device, does it find the update under About Device > Software Update? If not, you'll have to wait for Samsung to release the update in your country. And if your device is rooted or modded it won't update by itself, you'll have to do it manually.

What about sending it to Samsung for the update? They'd probably do it for you. If you can be without your tablet for a few days that's an alternative. Or you could manually flash somehow the frimware through Odin.
