I have this reoccurring issue. It seems to happen after installing apps or certain apps.
Everything is working fine and affter I install some app from the market link in my e-mail stop working and I can't add pics to my contacts. Seem as if the little chooser pop-op (to add pics from the market or take a pic/ or to shoose with browser to use) doesn't appear. The background grays out but the picker never pops up. Seem to only happen after I've installed app and reboot.
I guess the app are somehow breaking these functions. I think App stacker and Cover Art Downloader are two of the offending apps (also some live wall papers).
Anyone else?
I've wiped my tablet about five times to day to fix this. Seems removing the app alone won't fix it.
I freaking afraid to add anymore apps to my Transformer now!
I'm unrooted and running the latest update and updated from 3.1 to 3.2 as soon as I got my tablet home yesterday.
The 3.2 update introduced a bug. For the email links, rotate the screen to make the app chooser list come up. Not sure about adding pics to contacts though, maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks for the heads up.
I think it's the same bug. It just prevents the app chooser thing from poping up. Funny thing is it works at first. and breaks later on after a some re-boots.
Is this bug also present in the custom ROMs?

The bug is baked into 3.2. The bug reappears after a reboot.
Search on posts about issues with app launching and dimming of the screen for more info.

well, I guess the work around will have to do for now.
I guess Google will eventually get around to fixing it.

I'm rooted on CM7 nightly 175 and G+ app says I need a front facing camera for it to work

i don't think we can start hangouts, only join them.

Unable to join when on the app. The app think's I don't have a FFC.

Same problem here. CM7 w/ hangouts doesn't work for me.
I am on Virtuous Doubleshot 1.1.6 and I can join a ongoing hangout from my mt4g, BUT the camera that comes up is rotated 90degree to the side. The camera works fine when launched by itself...
CM7.1 RC1 - I don't see any video chat related options in the latest G+ update. What should I be looking for?
I had already modded it to support Gtalk video chat though. I don't know if those changes are making a difference here.

You can't create Hangouts in G+ on mobile but you can join them.
No luck on nightly #197
just a note that FFC is rotated 90 degrees in the Leaked GB TmoUS ROM too.

They've come out with some updates since the initial release for the hangouts so hopefully this fixes all the problems.

If you swipe the right side of the screen towards the left it shows the pics in your gallery in a slide show like carousel. You can go back and fourth instantly. Pretty cool.
Also when u hit the video button it starts recording instantly instead of having to switch to video and then hit record.
If anyone finds any other features please post them.
i tried to load this on alliance...is it not compatible with that? or am i not seeing exactly what this is for?
Doesn't work for me either. I'm on wicked sensations 4.3. I installed apk and push to system. Doesn't work either way.

Most likely need to be on a 4.4 ROM. It was pulled from the CM 11s leak. I will update OP when I get home.

I thought there were supposed to be options for setting the ISO, shutter speed and aperture? Is that hardware dependent of the One?

I have those settings but Im not sure if they work since I never mess with them. I know HDR mode isnt available for us.

Camera is great! But for some reason I can't seem to get video recording to work. Anyone?
Thats weird! Mine works fine and I can take pics while recording. Did u install as a regular app or push to system /app? This is the first time Ive heard of someone having issues with this and ive been all over XDA trying to keep track of this app in many different forums. Maybe a bad download?

I installed it as an app. Perhaps I'll remove it and push it as a system app and see if that works. Thanks for the suggestion. I see that you're running paranoid. I'm running cm11,so it should work if it works for you... I'll report back.

Yup, that did it! Uninstalled and then moved the downloaded apk to /system/app and modified permissions. Video recording now works! Thank you!

Its the best camera ive ever used on AOSP hands down.
I posted the Gallery apk in another help forum to see if someone could fix the rotation bug. I got a one guy to look at it! Keep ur fingers crossed!

well i upgraded today to the L version but i noticed one big thing that made me come back to the 4.4.4
why the hell i dont have a gallery ? i mean the gallery now is the "photos" of the google cloud.
this is not comfortable at all , i love my gallery and the way its organized.
well what do u think ? google will release the final version like that ? with no gallery ? and we'll have to get use to the "photos" gallery ?
if that will happen i'll stay with my 4.4.4 i really can stand it .. thats very annoying.

In that long assed thread on L it's mentioned multiple times. Folks are saying that you can use quick pic for your gallery. I believe it's been the group opinion that the photo app took the place of gallery and nobody is sure if gallery may be in the final consumer release of L in the fall

just install the Gallery2.apk like everyone else http://goo.gl/QD4szE
photos links you to g+ which links you to google. its googles app, not gallery. gallery is part of aosp. anyways, its easy to find. if you cant find it, you can exract it from many places(roms/gapps).

well i like the google+ backup but i like my gallery either , i mean i like to take a photo and then its on my gallery app + on my google backup account , i want the gallery bro , you think that the gallery will be an indeppended app aventually like in the 4.4.4 ? i hope so , i dont want to use the app u gave me you know , i want my gallery. why did they do this anyway ?

i think its not on the nexus 7 anymore(could be wrong). but i do think they are planning on getting rid if it. i only use the gallery app as well, and i take a LARGE number of photos(lol). ive used it for nearly 6 years now. if they do stop using it, i hope they keep it in the aosp.
the app i linked is the gallery, off my phone. it works on L. put it in /system/app/ and reboot.

Man. First of all the L thread is huge and its been mentioned there more than a handful of times. 2nd this is a preview ROM. Not final release. No one ones and won't know until they release their final version in fall, sept or october. Either use the workarounds like quickpic or revert back to 4.4.4.

I have always used QuickPic but also have a soft spot for Gallery - I think it has improved over time

look , eventually i flashed back to 4.4.4 cuz i fell like home with that version u know .. i dont know the app u sent me and i didnt download it because i have the stock gallery now lol >< i really hope that they will release the fianl version with the gallery , i hate the g+ gallery its awful but its good for backup not more than that [at least thats what i think] , we'll have to wait and see i guess hope that the gallery will be in the final version [:

Lol.. That gallery 2 must have been mentioned after I gave up plowing through that long so of a thread. Only so many times I could handle the same questions being asked on every 3rd post Lol.. Didn't realized gallery was aosp, I've just noticed it on every phone I've used. No big deal to me.
just an FYI..The "gallery app" has been gone for a while..it started with the z ultra and g pad google play editions those were introduced with stock android without a "gallery" app..so in my opinion its headed out the door and the fact the it isnt there on the L preview for the nexus 5 ,i think solidifies that its gone in favor of the "photos" app.

Hey all. For some reason I'm having a hard time saving photos I edit. I mostly just crop and adjust the color. I hit save and it closes and goes to the home screen. I can't find the saved photo anywhere, nor can I find anything in the settings to fix the problem. Is there an update to the photo program or something? Help!
**update** No sooner do I post this, than I fixed the problem. I've been working from the "photos" icon and not the "gallery" icon. I just opened the gallery and saw there was an update. Installed that and problem fixed! I then opened the photos and was able to edit, save, and find my pix there too.
Should I delete this post? Or leave it in case someone else has this problem? Thanks!
