Anybody know which version of kernel comes with Gingerbread?
Is there any way to go to the earlier version of android 2.2.0. I currently have 2.2.1 and have build FRG83D
I second your question as I need to downgrade to 2.2 as well. Any help guys?
My device is an HTC Wildfire.
I just got my NS yesterday and flashed CM 7.0.3 since it seems to be more stable than the current RC1. I was looking at some Voodoo/battery saver kernels (Lucid, Jame Bond) and it seems they're only compatible with 2.3.4+ (7.0.3 is 2.3.3).
Has anyone flashed the current version of either of these kernels with 7.0.3? Or does anyone have a previous version of either one that is compatible with 2.3.3?
Thanks!
Can someone explain android version versus kernel version? I see there is an updated AT&T stock rooted 2.3.6 flashable zip I can download from the forum. It isn't clear if it's the Kernel or the version of Android. What would be the difference with the 2.3.6 from my stock 2.3.5?
My Rogers i727R says it's Android version 2.3.5 and kernel version 2.6.35.11. From what I understand, the AT&T was also 2.3.5 and kernel version 2.6.35.11. So if I understand this update correctly, it updates the entire OK, therefore it is a ROM, not a kernel, correct?
If this is correct, why did not update the kernel to 2.3.6, or is there no such thing?
Yes its a rom. Android gingerbread version 2.3.6 that is the android version the kernel version of this rom is still 2.6.35.11 im not sure what differences there are on this rom it was an ota update we got a few days ago. And the kernel and android version are not the same. I dont believe the kernel version number , and android version are ever the same
The kernel number is the Linux kernel version that the Android build is based off of, and barring some highly unusual set of circumstances, won't happen to overlap.
Hi,
I successfully loaded a 3XL with Android S latest beta version; however, without joining the official beta program.
Would the phone automatically get the stable version when it had been released?
If not, I suppose I'd need to revert the phone to Android R for it to get the stable Android S.
Thanks a bunch!
