[Q] Stock MMS App Missing, Can't Re-install - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

What I have: Rooted w/JellyWiz Release 13, using LeanKernal JB 1.2.1
Background: I use GoSMS. Within the past week people started complaining that they weren't getting photos I was sending them.
What I have done: I thought it may have been a problem with GoSMS, so I decided to try sending an MMS with the stock messaging app which I had previously hidden with GoLauncher. When I went to un-hide it, I couldn't find it. I checked Titanium Backup thinking I had frozen it.I found a back up of it, but it wasn't frozen. I tried to restore it and it didn't restore.
I looked at System/Apps and found secmms.apk and when I try to install it, the install fails. I also tried using Android Commander to install the app and it fails ... it says:
Installing app: SecMms.apk
pkg: /data/local/tmp/SecMms.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES]
Synopsis: 1. Why can't people get my MMS messages? 2. Why can't I re-install the stock Samsung messaging app?
Any ideas?

[Q] mms.apk samsung captivate help

so i'm dumb i know but i deleted my messaging app from my samsung captivate (2.1 rooted). I've tried a few different times to find mms.apk but none of them want to install. i usually will put them in my sdcard folder and try and open them with package installer but it will just say application not installed. I've been using handcent (which is great) but it will only receive sms but not mms. does anyone know how to install mms.apk or just a way to get handcent to do mms without it.
thanks
edit: tried adb install through terminal comes up with the error install_failed_dexopt i know i have enough memory for the app so i presume it means that the file im trying to install is corrupted but i'm pretty new to it so im clueless.

[Q] My dx won't recieve picture messages

Hello everyone,
As you can see my dx won't recieve picture messages. I am a rooted user and have done lots of research and it mainly leads to the fact that I deleted stock messaging. Supposedly the stock messaging controls the mms receiving. My friends wil send pictures and I won't eveb know until the next day when they ask if I got them. So my question is does anybody know why? And if it is from the fact yhat I deleted stock text, can someone please post it on here so I can dl it and recieve mms again.i
for some reason they take a lil while to come in . but they eventually do. Did you press down on the message and select download ?
Check if you can send the mms's if not you gotta sbf...same thing happened to me
I am pretty sure the blur sms/mms is needed for pics....unless using aosp sms/mms. Though I could be mistaken.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm thinking since I deleted the stock messaging apk that is why I can't recieve them. I don't even have the option to long click and stuff. They never come to my phone. As tho it had never been sent but my friends have showed me where they sent them and it never showed up on phone. I am currently looking for updated stock messaging apk file so i can try and dl it and figure out if that was my prob
somtime sthe rooted rom has problems with mms, try using a differnt texting app like Handcent sms which allows you to customize and activate your mms. or it could be your baseband.
I've tried both chomp and handcent and no luck. Now ive found the deodexed messaging apk for my version and when I go to install thru root explorer it says "application not installed". I've copied to system/app folder. Mounted. Changed permissions annd still no luck. Anyone know wutttt else I have to do to reinstall this apk? Please help

After you put it in system/app/ and change permissions you gotta reboot (not try to "install" it).

Ok I jus put in...changed to rw r r and I rebooted. Now wut? I still cannot send or recieve the pictures? Do i need to apply a deodexed Messaging.apk intot the system/app folder? And after dropping it in there all I do is unmount and reboot...right? That is what u are saying isn't it?

[Q] Help installing a stock app

I want to reinstall a stock app called Audio Postcard on my Galaxy S 4G, because I want to be able to update when a system update comes out, and I don't want to wait until then to frantically figure this out.
This is what I have tried:
I downloaded the files named: audiopostcard.apk and audiopostcard.odex and pushed them to system/app. They didn't have the right permissions or user and group, so I fixed that in Root Explorer and abd. The two files now have the right permission and user group assignments (root.root). I rebooted, but the app still won't show up. I have heard that as long as the files have the right permissions and user and group assignment then you don't have to install it. However, since it didn't show up I tried installing it, but it fails with the "not installed" message.
I tried to install it using adb, but I got the following error message:
./adb install /Android/AudioPostcard.apk
2125 KB/s (11202488 bytes in 5.147s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/AudioPostcard.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT]
I tried installing it by zipping the two files (audiopostcard.apk and audiopostcard.odex) together, putting it in the root directory of the SD card, rebooting into recovery and installing it, but I get the message:
E: signature verification failed
My phone is rooted, but I don't have clockworkmod installed. Do I need to do this to get the files to install?
Can someone help me with this?
TIA
My first question is, are you running a stock rom? did you flash either KB5 or KC1 rom from the development forum? Or, did you uninstall it yourself via Titanium or something?
someone else just created a thread with this as the Title.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939451
Yes, I'm running the stock rom. I haven't flashed either of those roms from the development forum.
Yes, I did uninstall via Titanium, but it happened in a weird way. I was doing a search in Titanium and clicked on Audio Postcard to uninstall, when it got to the uninstall screen, I told it to cancel, but when I went back to Titanium, it was gone. Weird. Thanks for your reply.
**Update**
I finally got it to install using birgertime's Bloater app. I had to jump through a few hoops to get it to work, and I go into that in that thread, but it is now installed. Thanks to birgertime and others who read this.
there is an application called bloater. its used for rooted phones to install/uninstall apps that come with the phone. its on the market for a dollar but its no longer on applanet. if you want i can get the apk from my phone later and upload it
let me know
hit thanks if it helped

Restore stock messaging app after Titanium uninstal?

How do I restore stock messaging app after Titanium uninstall?
forgot to put in title Android Galaxy S
Quick history
i had an error where the messaging app would force close on boot and when i went to type text. it said mms something was force closing.
I tried to change off swype text and tried a new MMS APN.
then i tried to restore a Backup (made by titanium backup)
still force closing on boot and when i started typing.
I then foolishly uninstalled the app with titanium backup.
And now it just hangs on reinstall .
how can i restore the stock messaging app after Titanium uninstall?
Cheers
----
Also Is there a better backup program out there?
Worstcase: Reflash the stock rom again.
i installed
GO SMS pro
far better than the stock app
Really pleased
then i got loads of TWlauncher errors
so i installed GO launcher which is also flipping great (Google TOP app - there is a video on the marketplace)
So in a way a bad thing has turned out to be a good thing
Its like I've got a new feature packed phone
I think my phone might be on its way out is Titanium backup still the best? I'll make another post

Contacts Storage Uninstalled - Please Help! (Android 4.0.4 - Allview P5 Mini)

Hi everyone,
I ask your opinions / ideas on the next problem with Android 4.0.4 on AllViewP5 Mini:
Willing to work better, I installed the ExDailer and Go Sms Pro to get rid of stock applications that create so many problems.
So it was a good idea, the applications do very well.
Then I came with a bad idea and that is to uninstall stock applications, namely: Contacts_4.5.1.apk and Messaging_4.4.a.apk.
I used EsFile Explorer, I`v created backup and I`v uninstalled them.
The phone worked very well, except for an error that popped; was something about: android.process.acore
Then I got the worst possible idea, namely to remove Contact Storage_4.5.a.apk.
Since then all contacts were killed, The phone does not read any contact.
I tried to revive the system applications with EsFile Explorer, but it did not work. says "failed to install"
I've copied in system / app, but the system still does not load them after reboot.
I tried to sign the apps again with "Tickle My Android", but it did not work either.
Flashing it is a good solution, but I would need a ROM, plus CWM installed, which am not quite familiar.
Does anyone have any ideas?
PLEASE HELP!
FIXED
The system loads stock apps only if they have a specific name.
In my case I had to rename the apps installed in /system/app as:
Contacts.apk
ContactsProvider.apk
Mms.apk
Hi, I uninstalled mms.apk, but without any backup. Please sent me the Mms.apk at [email protected] . I really need it.
Thanks

Hey dude, I followed your solution, found a gz file which contained the Contacts provider app, extracted it, and pushed it to the system/app folder (Using root explorer). Then, I tried to install it from there - but for nothing --> It says "application not Installed". Tried to reboot, nothing.
Any idea?
