Phone crashing since updating fw

Hi all,
Since updating my O3D to the latest firmware via the LG Update tool, it has crashed a few times (at least three), so bad that I had to reboot.
It happens when I use the keyboard. Twice while typing text messages and once in Dolphin web browser.
Keyboard and messaging app were the stock ones from LG.
It seemed like the keyboard 'app' crashed and wouldnt respond to presses any more. I could press the home button at the bottom of the screen, but the keyboard stayed on screen taking up space and everything move up to the top. If I held the home button I could switch apps but noting worked. Eventually I just held the power button and powered off. I had to choose power off twice before the phone did anything.
This was the same each time it crashed.
Anyone else seen problems like this? Never saw it before I updated the fw but then again I've only had the phone a couple of weeks.

This is my second update since having my Optimus 3D and yes this time I have noticed one problem that I didn't have before which is that if I leave my wi-fi enabled then the phone will reboot after about twenty minutes of it being on yet if I switch the phone off the phone works fine.
So yes it is possible the firmware update affected your phone in some way. In your case you could try a different keyboard app but in mine it is the built in wireless so no solution as yet but maybe a keyboard app and or alternative messenger app will help solve your problem.

I'm running stock v10k and my camera will only run after I kill everything with atk and also my goto lock screen is constantly asking me to force close is it 10k update doing this.

I don't think its v10k doing this. I believe its ATK doing this.

same here I had problems once I updated from D to K and then 10J, the phone will just keep rebooting, I tried taking out the SD card as some have suggested but that still did not fix the issue, last night I totaly wiped the phone to Brand new condition, then re-installed everything via the market, No root and the phone so far has been working perfect, 14 hours no reboots with wifi set on always.

after updating to LGP920-V10k-SEP-17-2011 my phone reboots ever 20 min.
phone is completely wiped no root. just standard.

Not sounding good. I do have root on my phone and I also leave WiFi on from when I get home until when I go back to work and my phone doesn't reboot on its own.
The last time my phone crashed was Friday or Saturday but I havent used the keyboard that much since.

Maybe they are different revisions of the motherboard on the phone.
It is strange to help because i don't have any reboots.

Another thing I have noticed since the update, when typing text messages if I turn the phone to landscape mode, the screen doesn't rotate to match.

I have a few rotation glitches too I think they need to hurry up with GB update

To be honest, I didn't check into the whole Android version thing before I got the phone and it never bothered me, until now! Hopefully these bugs wont be present in GB.

I am in gb so guess the bugs are universal but solved my wifi issue by setting wifi to sleep when phone screen is off.

[Atrix 2 India]Application hangs issue and screen touch issue

Recently I purchased Motorol Atrix2 Phone in India. I am facing some problems...:crying:
1.) While playing Racing Moto game(downloaded from android market) suddenly touch response goes(hlding touch on the screen to increase bike speed) so the bike speed goes down from 120 kmph to 70. After that it will work fora while and again slows down.
2.) Some times touch is not working, this is noticed while playing Temple Run game.
3.) As many people discussed in this forum, network disconnection issue exists.
4.) While playing many of the games/applications, applications hangs(application, not phone) for a while(around 20 sec) and starts working after that. This issue is observed in most of the apps.
When I contatced customer care, they told to do factory reset. After factory reset also, same issues exists.
Does any body noticied similar kind of issues? or my phone is defective one?.

maybe you have many apps running in background..close all background apps..this will free up some ram and then try again

that is strange..i can run hd games without any problem..and btw network issu is there on stock indian rom..i moved onto a custom rom and my issue got solved

I admit that this is a very strange problem that none of us are facing. In few days you will get ICS update which might fix the problem. If you are daring enough, then you can install the ICS leak on your own and check whether the problem persists or not.

@androiddecoded, thanks for your reply. I bought it 3 weeks back, so i will wait till ICS OTA. Can you try playing "Racing Moto" game in your atrix2 phone and check whether bike speed suddenly comes down.

Yeah, I have played it lots of time. No problem

Make Sure you do not have non market apps and Hacked apps installed on your phone.
Check the SD card (if games are running from card), you might wanna format the card and reload things, since this is a gaming issue only.
i faced a similar problem with some EA games, then i bought a 16GB grade 10 card and now every games work smooth.
I hope you do not have any screen guard installed.
If all fails, Buy Galaxy S 3 :laugh:

No non market apps are installed, these games are installed in phone memory only(as you know 4GB internal memory is available for apps in Atrix 2).
I added screen guard to the phone screen. If it is the problem with screen guard always it should not work right?.
I played with company given normal screen cover, that time also faced same issue...

I had exactly the same issues with stock 2.3.6 but ever since upgaraded to ICS leak no such problems. Stock rom is no good so better upgrade or wait and upgrade OTA.

@spikywits, Thanks for your reply. I recently bought this phone in India, it has 1 yr warranty. So if i flash custom ROMs, will the manufacturer warranty still exists?

You will lose your warranty..but you can always flash back to stock before taking it to service centre..n besides motorola service centres in india are so bad that its better to avoid them as far as possible..my experience

Will not be an issue unless you know basic stuff on flashing. I had my atrix 2 sent to mororola for replacement under warranty and I was using 4.0.4 leak on it. Ensure you get it flashed back to 2.3.6 while sending it to service center.

Battery problem
I recently bought atrix 2 and found that it shows battery in the intervals of 10% so i installed battery solo widget and also circle battery widget which indicates 1% battery discharging. But whenever i unplug the charger after it is displayed 100 in the widget, the widget shows 99 as soon as i unplug the charger.. Is there a problem in my battery???

Facing same issues on my atrix 2 recently purchased
I am also facing the same issue while playing Racing Moto game. Also the touch hangs sometimes while dialing.

My xperia e dual is very very very laggy after jb update

I have updated my e dual from sony customer support to official jellybean 4.1.1 but after the update my phone is super laggy (in ics phone was running like lightning.) but now the whole UI is running slow. when i unlock the screen the phone lags like hell , while rotating screen phone lags , i m not able to answer the calls because during the call my phone freezes and do not respond , gaming performance also has slightly decreased ,while scrolling the app drawer phone lags.there are a lot of problems like this. Do someone has faced this problem or someone knew the solution for this ?... Plzz help . i have repaired my phone with pc companion and formatted my phone but still there is no improvement.

Sorry to hear about that. My e dual on jb is quite smooth, it is weird that u experience all these lags. Tell me does your phone lag for a while after u unlock your screen?

No it does not lag for a while it just continues to lag , no matter how long u will run it . It will not stop lagging whether u run it for 10 seconds or 10 minutes or 2 hours

I also had that problem, I decided to stay in ICS is better and faster

Download PC Companion and connect your phone to pc,in Pc companion i Think its called support zone,click it and click update device it will says you have latest update and there should be blue colored text saying "repair phone" click it and it will reinstall the update
PS:this will delete all your data so make a backup

What's the point in repairing, it will only remove the user apps and install fresh system apps..
I recommend a thorough cleaning of the Rom,removing each and every app that is not used or that you don't need.you can remove any Sony or g-apps without doubt...

yes..its same here...though i hav rooted my phone...i hav granted permissions to setcpu to run my cpu at its fullest..nut all in vain..it stil lags...i think that...overclocking to 1.2 gz..should be the way to avoid these deadly lags...if i helped...plzz hit thanks..

ok. Google 'one click lag fix' and download it.it requires your phone to be rooted.open it and install EXT2 TOOLS. then use your phone for a day or so and if the lag still persists then open up one click lag fix and select ALTER MINFRE and select strict and then apply.
this transformed my irritating tortoise (XE SS) into a lag-free rabbit

Greenify+lagfix+seeder+supercharger v6 script.
Lag reduced to major extent.

[Q] Regarding problem with Xperia Sola

Hello everyone,
I am not actually Android genius and has a very less knowledge about it. I purchased a sony Xperia Sola Last year from Bangladesh, Next month i came to USA and rooted the phone so the warranty was void.
I dont know it is obvious or not, that, My phone keeps freezing very often. And it has really hard times even operating light apps like opera mini and pandora or even play store, i cant use camera or GPS it just freezes after a while. Which is not very normal I guess with 350mb available ram! playing games is even more troublesome.
I installed the Cyanogenmod 9 few days ago in a hope that it would be ok, But still it is the same thing happening. I dont know where is the problem.
SO please help me out with this problem guys. What could make my phone at least usable?

That could be some some apps are still running in the background. Try installing a task killer. Hope that would solve the problem

Z5 rebooting in sleep mode

I got a brandnew xperia z5 and can´t really use it. It constantly reboots itself when put into sleep mode. It works perfectly well when the screen is on. I got no SD-card and Sim in it and no apps are installed.

not good to hear this and also not good to recommend Factory Reset for Factory Mobile :|
anyway Try to Install Fresh ROM by Using PC Companion (Repair Firmware Option)
If Nothing change after this then it might have battery issue so just ask for replacement

Might it be the security demo feature if you don't have a sim inside?
