Did you ever get an answer to this? I am working on getting Flexget to work, but it seems like an uphill battle. I am trying to use optware. I have installed python + easy_install + pip, but I am not able to run pip. I was considering trying to install using git. Anyway, I hope to have this done eventually, but if you have figured out how to get it to work I would be more than happy to do it your way.

Got it working! I have been running this for a couple weeks now and everything is quite stable. Here is a link to my how to.

1. It is (in addition to, say, Bluezard - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1226139 ); see my related review at, say, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277726
2. Dunno if your WM6 contains .NET CF 1. If it doesn't, you'll want to install CF1SP3 available at http://www.winmobiletech.com/sekalaiset/CF1SP3/netcf.all.wce4.ARMV4.rar
3. Moving the thread to General because it is generic enough to have value to generic (not just Tornado) users.

EDIT: i just tried to install CF1SP3 but it told me it wasnt intended for my device. and because i couldnt get CF1SP3 to install, i still can't get Sniper to work.

Well I remember that when I have started app that needed .net framework on wm5 it said something like that the app cannot start because I don't have .net framework installed.
This is still an ongoing problem for me... Many apps crash saying that it could not find .Net CF 2.0, yet I know that WM6 already comes with it and when I try to install it, it tells me that it already has a newer one installed.

[ROM-DEV] Android 2.0.1-r5v0.6 (Dead)

Android 2.0.1-r5v0.6
Dead:
==============
After spending some time and looking over this rom and ways to make it work with out any legal issues. The most viable option was to build something like what cynanogen has built. His process takes the proprietary bits (all google apps including sync) and copies them off onto the SD card before doing a update. After the update it copies them back to the newly installed rom. This method basically does a automated backup/restore of your licensed applications. I can't do this for several reasons including that we are supposed to be coming from a 1.5 OS to a 2.0.1, which isn't compatible with the older application set.
Temporarily Offline:
==============
I am sorry to have to do this but we are now having more then just a small handful goofing with this ROM and I need to take this offline while I inspect each of the parts and make sure all licensing is in order since its a bit more then the google Opensource framework. I know that several other ROM creators have not paid much attention to it as I am going to now but I really don't want to upset any IP holders like what happened to Cynanogen a couple months back.
I will put it back up but I want to make sure that I am totally covered and don't have any issues.
version 0.6: download (offline)
==============
-fixed wifi thanks to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593620
-Now starts up with Android stock keyboard. (No longer needs HTC_IME.apk for second keyboard)
A few have asked for this ROM so I thought I would put it up here for anyone that wants to contribute to or take from it.
This ROM is only compatible with the Sprint CDMA HTC Hero. It is not finished and still requires some work but its good enough for my day to day use and I am sure others may find the same potential.
This ROM is vanilla android and what it takes to actually get it running on a CDMA phone. It is built off of this GSM variant. I am going to try and work to remove the google bits so that you can use Cynanogens method of extracting your own and then doing a follow up update to install them. My efforts for this is not to build a better rom but to build a cleaner base that has limited to no proprietary IP.
Credits to all on this forum how have helped or contributed in any way to building the roms that are here. I would point out names but there are to many to name. I am positive that anyone that pays attention to this forum will know who you are. I used many parts of these ROM's and many others on XDA to build this one.
This is my first ROM and was primarily made for myself to help me learn how to create a custom ROM.
Here is the link to my blog where I originally posted about this and a video of it booting.
Here is the Youtube video of it booting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRTh-rXKe-E
*Warning*: Don't attempt to flash this ROM onto anything else unless you know what you are doing! I am not responsible for any device malfunctions or "Bricks".
Notes on Installing:
- Run a Nandroid backup before you do anything.
- Make sure you do a full wipe first. (Sorry )
- Run the update zip found * Version 0.6 *(offline) from the recovery console.
To get the HTC keyboard installed: (Now Optional as of Version 0.6)
- Follow the instructions here.
Things that don't work:
- Gallery some times has issues.
- Camera
- Wired or Wireless Tethering (Now Testing)
- Orientation
- Trackball light
- Trackball click (Rolling and moving are fine)
- (Let me know if something else needs to go here.)
Possible issues that are not repeatable:
- speaker not working on out bound calls? I made 30 test calls to my home phone and was not able to replicate this issue. Needs to be verified (see here)

So you installed both the HTC_IME.apk and the Clicker.apk? Did you do a adb push or a adb install?
Try and go into settings --> Language & Keyboard --> Touch Input --> Text Input?
I think its a force of habit with out really thinking to go there and calibrate but just going there may help.
Try that and let me know.
i just flashed it and pushed the keyboard and calibration app through adb and all is well. its working awesome. Thanks!!!

Thanks, but I really can't take to much credit. Its a "Pick and Pull" from several ROMs. This one actually came from our GSM Brothers and then I used the CDMA tricks in this form to make it work.
I keep watching and playing with the Google Nexus Dumps. I would really like to get one of them up and running.
Based on your posting and replies I assume you are re-using the 2.6.27 kernel like the other roms?

Wow thats allot in a little space.
What I gather is that it originally booted, then after trying to install via droid explorer and then astro it now just dies after the lockscreen.
I am not sure where to start. I would just say to do a full wipe, then a clean install. Then if you have the sdk try the ADB install method as Cynanogen's post talks about.
I am working on trying to get the stock Android keyboard to work. If we can figure out that then we don't have to mess with the HTC one.
ok i got it i just adb pushed them to system/app works great

Yeah, actually some of your work if I remember correctly, thats why its got the same issues. My first goal when I built this for my self was to get past the blasted google bits sync loop. The more I worked into it the more I moved on to the 2.0.1 build with some of your stuff in it.
Your welcome to anything I have learned, its really not my work.

TF101 Linux, that... WORKS?

Is there any way to install linux distribution aside from android onto my TF101, dual boot if possible, with not-so-many-bugs?
I tried x3maniac's way of installing it, however, I had 1.35GB available disk space (which ****** sucks), and I couldn't even load pages in Chromium, so basically, it was no use. After apt-getting codeblocks, i couldn't save a .cpp file lol.
Thank you in advance.
You can get an app called complete Linux installer from the market. Thing is, you need a kernel that supports loop devices, and it runs on TOP of android. That's the best I've seen

For x3maniac's you need to run 'sudo resize2fs /dev/mmcblk0p8' in the terminal after installing to resize the partition to ~5gb, the chromium issue has also been fixed with the new kernels and they are also overclocked. The only problem is that x3maniac's kernels have problems with the system freezing.
NoDiskNoFun's net-install was very stable especially with jhinta's kernel, the only problem I had with it was that the boot time would take 1-2 minutes extra if the system couldn't connect to a known wifi network. The major thing is that you wont be able to complete the install without a wifi connection (has to download several hundred megabytes of packages to setup).
lilstevie's 11.10 image while stable, was fairly slow, lacked hardware acceleration and couldnt report battery levels (only from the terminal).
NoDiskNoFun's ubuntu would probably be the most stable and the fastest for you, x3maniac's still has it's issues.

Hey Mn5612,
I've installed x3maniac's tubuntu, and while I do really like it and appreciate all of his work, I have heard that NoDiskNoFun's net-install had many advantages in terms of customization and stability. I flashed his img over my recovery partition, and everything was fine, booted into setup, but then I can't get the wifi to connect to complete the installation. I am running open WEP
Nothing comes up when I do a scan, status is "Could not get status from wpa_supplicant," and when I manually try to add values I get "Failed to enable network in wpa_supplicant configuration." So I go through setup, and nothing downloads while I'm completing all of the steps.
I tried using v0.5 where the install is primarily in terminal, tried all of the WEP options, then I tried tethering my phone with all of the different encryptions, then left it as an open hotspot, nothing, no detection, no connection.
I've looked all over the forums and at general llinux forums for solutions, but no one seems to have quite the same problem, or their solution is not feasible on this distro or someone working in windows. I have a very basic knowledge of linux, I mainly run a windows box, but I always like to learn more. In any case, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hey,
I had the same question about a year ago. I looked around and found this thread from lilstevie. It will guide you to install a dual boot setup between a nvflashable ROM of your choice and Ubuntu. I had it running very well with no major issues, but of course there will be some bugs. Heck, Linux often has bugs even on a normal PC platform. I remember flash player was probably the biggest issue, but I'm sure there are ways to get it working. If I remember correctly I think I gave Ubuntu 8gb and I gave Prime 3.2 whatever was left out of the 32gb tablet.

First time AOSP builder doubts

After almost a week of struggling, I finally got my own AOSP ROM flashed onto my Pixel 3.
Nothing fancy, but the AOSP ROM as it is, without any changes. As I flashed it and excitedly unlocked my first boot, I saw a Cupcake like UI.
Old style google search, basic icon styles etc.
What am I missing? Why didn't I get a "Pixel finish" to my ROM?

maybe you are missing pixel gapps?
AOSP is very bare indeed, Google has been taking away functionality from AOSP for a long time now in favour of their (proprietary) apps from the Play Store. If you want that experience back you should install Gapps and download all the Google apps from the store. You really start appreciating the work custom firmware developers do now don't you?
Would you mind linking a tutorial that you personally used? I've seen a few but need one where I can use Windows and don't have to have a Linux interface to build, lol

AOSP cannot be built from Windows. Even if you install the ubuntu shell from the windows store.
Mac works, but it does not work on all versions. Like for example it fails on Catalina.
Ubuntu 18.04 is the best bet.
I can write a quick tutorial

Short and sweet... I used on the ZTE Axon 10 Pro
It is android 5.1 rooted running inside your phones operating system.
It works.
You can get to it from your own system and vice versa...
Kinda like running Linux inside of Windows, not dual boot...
Fun to play with, yet not really useful...
No, your actual android is not rooted!
You are relying upon that the app is safe and I have found no one yet to approve this function and the OS 5.1 is very very modified...
But that said: It did work as he said with limitations....I removed it! On my Huawei Mate 30, no way. Too nice of a phone!
I tried to run Bolt (formerly Taxify) on my Mate 30 Pro.
Although it take some time to load VMOS, the functionality I need is satisfactory ?

I know your issue. I can share with you my GMS apks:
http://s.go.ro/vsk9niug
In this combination 99.99% of aps works.
Do I have only to install those APK's or is there a special installation procedure (like run lmzplay or something similar)?

Yes, the problem is with "4.SharedLibrary-com.apk.1mirror.gmapjar-1-v1.0.apk".
When I uninstall this (see attached screenshot), Sparkasse app works, but Bolt is automatically uninstalled.
When I try to install Bolt via adb, I'm getting the following:
