Xperia Tipo NSA310 media server - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hi everybody! First: This is not my phone.
It's a fully stock unrooted
In the family we have a ZyXEL NSA-310 media server. My goal is to play music from it without downloading the file. This can be done on PC.
What I tried: Typing it's IP address in browser, then playing the music via the web interface's music player, but in mobile site, it's not there. There is a file browser in the mobile version, so I thought I will use it, but there is no way. It's just downloading the file. Then I said request desktop site, but it's still redirecting me to the mobile version, and still can't be done. Then I downloaded the zMedia app, which is made by ZyXEL just to do this. And it's not doing anything else, than opening the browser. And when browser opened, the app closing without error. No settings or anything else. So it's useless. Then I tried it with Astro File Manager, but it can just download it again.

Moodio Streaming Radio

I stumbled across this site recent (moodio.fm), but can't get it working on my HTC touch. I downloaded HTC Streaming Media player, which can stream m.youtube videos, but can't seem to open moodio.fm radio stations. Anyone else come across this?
I'm on the Bell network btw, maybe Bell blocks certain ports?
Any help is appreciated.
I have an HTC Fuze and would also like an answer to this question. The streaming medial player won't seem to open Moodio links. Moodio is a great site with tons of great stations. Anyone have a fix to opening these links?
some times use mediaplayer streaming or realplayer or quicktime so being able to play youtube matters little in those cases
I would mess around with different browsers to see both on the computer and the pda
The Moodio site says the link should open with the streaming media application, and when you click the link it does bring up the streaming media player, but it does not load and gives a message that "media file type not supported".

anyone figure this out yet? I recall it working with some othe streaming app on the diamond, but since I've reflashed the ROM I lost the app.
Hello. I've been searching for a solution to this for quite some time and finally found a way to stream Moodio, from a totally unrelated thread here on XDA-Developers. It's a bit complicated, mind you, but so far it's worked for me every time both over WiFi and HSDPA on my Xperia X1.
Try the following:
1. Go to m.moodio.fm and log in.
2. Click on a station you wish to play. At this point, the HTC Streaming Player will launch and you will receive the "unsupported media type" error. You will also now have a file downloaded by Moodio in your My Documents folder called Listen.sdp.
3. Rename the .sdp file to .txt (either on the PC or with something like Resco Explorer so that it can be opened in Word Mobile. Alternatively you can install the HouMing File Explorer extension, select the Open With Program option, and open the file with Word Mobile, so as not to have to rename the file.
4. Look for the entry that begins with the string 'a=control:' and contains the 'rtsp://'. Example: 'a=control:rtsp://moodio-3.seeas.nl/3938994'.
5. Ignore the 'a=control:' and copy the part of the string that begins with 'rtsp//'. Example: 'rtsp://moodio-3.seeas.nl/3938994'.
6. Open your media player (in my case, the HTC Streaming Media player), and paste this text in the URL field. The station should then play as expected. (Note that you can also play the station by pasting this text into the address bar of your browser like Pocket IE, which will then automatically launch the Streaming Media Player and play it. At this point I save the file to Favorites in the HTC Streaming Media Player so I can play it any time I wish.
I thought I would post this since I have searched and searched and have not seen anyone mention this alternative with respect to Moodio.
Hope this helps those of you who, like me, have had no luck in streaming Moodio on your Windows Mobile device up to now.
Hi,
I'm the developer behind moodio.fm. I used an Xperia X1 myself for sometime last year and i'm very sure Moodio played on it without the need for this trick.
Have you tried different browsers? As far as i remember it only worked in IE.
If you provide me with your Moodio user name i can check the exact user agent string the phone sends and add an exception in our system to redirect these phones to the direct rtsp url instead of returning an SDP file.
regards
Oele

Hello Oele. Wow, that would be fantastic! I can tell you that I joined Moodio some time back (I believe perhaps June or July of last year), and I have always received the .sdp file on my Xperia X1A since day one. I tried to find a solution back then and couldn't, so gave up for a while and didn't use Moodio. I recently decided to search once more to see if I could find something and this is when I came across the workaround described in my prior post. But if you can make it so that my device is automatically redirected to the rtsp URL, that would be wonderful. I have only tried this with IE, BTW, as that is the only browser I use. My Moodio username is queenv. If you need any additional information, please let me know. Thanks again!
Could you try again? You should now get a redirect to the RTSP url.

Yes! I just tried it and I certainly do! Now it just plays and I no longer have to do my workaround. Thanks a million!!!!

LobsterTunes

Hello all,
I've been trying to (rather unsuccessfully) remote access my home pc's music files via LobsterTunes on my HD2.
I'm using TVersity to sync from my home pc to the phone and while LobsterTunes does find the media server and lists my media, when I actually try and play a track it just continually buffers?
Any ideas?
Thanks
I havent tried winamp on my hd2 yet, but i used to use it on my tytn2. it has a media server service. Allowing access to my pc.
i forgot about it till you mentioned it. hmmmm. may go investigate that again.

That sounds interesting, I've found WinamPAQ 1.0 after a bit of Googling, is this the version with a media server service?
Thanks
I just checked. Go to winamp.com and download free winamp to your pc. register for the winamp remote service (also free) and simply log in on ur phone browser. there is a mobile site, i dont have the address to hand.
I never use winamp, but my ps3 on my home network works better using this media service to stream films and music.

Cool will give that a try when I get home, thanks!
I've also just been looking at Orb, seems to be a fairly simple way to share media between your home pc and hd2, yet to try it though but will post findings if anyone is interested?

gmote may work for you, in the market
and you install the server portion on your pc, you connect via lan/wifi to your home pc. you can browse through your drives/folders like you would in astro and when you click on a movie file it will play it on your pc monitor, the video player is built into gmoteserver (pc side)
you can also install vnc server on your pc and then install vnc on android (market vnc)
and control it just like you would a normal vnc session.
i myself am looking for a file browser for android that will let me browse network shares and let me copy files to my sdcard

sorry i must not have read your OP sorry about that.
there is another app gremote much more polished version but its a paid app (market app free but pc software is costs)
besides a vnc type app, i dont know of any app for the pc that will let you remotely launch files too. so if its not there for the pc, its probably not there for the android.
im going to search google for remotely executing files that may lead us to an app that may be made for the android
only other thing i can think of is continue using vnc, switch to media player home cinema as it pauses/play on mouse click. setup a play list on the pc, then use your phone to vnc in to play/pause/volume up/down.
next to that cordless mouse and keyboard =)
So you are looking for a Media Remote Control application.

No no no. What you want is estrongs file explorer. Browse network shares via
Samba (PC networking) or ftp. Over wifi for lan shares or 3G with ftp.
You can ditch Astro after that find.
If you need to do it the other way around; browse the phone's file system with a pc or other device, use swiftp which is an ftp server.

[Q] App to Control PC...but differently

Hi, I have searched and struggled to find anything that can do what I want to do.
So, there are apps like gmote that allow you to control a keyboard and mouse.
These apps also allow you to open music files and play them, using a file browser interface.
What I am after is an app that allows me to open up applications (.exe) on my PC, so that I don't have to have my screen turned on when I want to power up XBMC or what have you. Does anyone know of anything that can do this?
Obviously the music remote play apps allow you to open music files remotely using a file browser. I don't mind putting a load of shortcuts into a folder somewhere if there was an app that could read them.
Thanks for looking and thanks in advance for any answers

Same issue using a Note 2.
I've downloaded a torrent using Chrome and the preinstalled browser. Then I transfer to my servers torrent folder using eStrong. Deluge is set to auto load torrents but instead renames the torrent as invalid.
I've downloaded the same torrent using Chrome on my PC. Then I use eStrong to copy that file on to my phone and then to the server. This time it works as it should.
Since I used different browsers, it points to the Android download client.
Off to do more research on the issue....
Chrome on my Xoom thinks that the torrent is a URL and tries to open it in a new tab. Looks like it's down to the Android implementation by the manufacturer.

I use ttorrent pro, it also utilizes magnet links, I use chrome on SGS2 and it works just fine for me, I don't internet in the household so I only download on my phone
I use the stock browser to find torrents, and then I have uTorrent to download them. When I click on the torrent download in browser it opens automagically in uTorrent and they always download without issue.
use bittorrent
