My only complaint is that the One X seems to attract all the biggest babies to XDA that make completely unnecessary threads, such as this one.

Agree.. there's plenty of threads about the issues of this phone.

yeaht thanks alot thats all im trying instead of people such as the first couple poster posting threads bout every single issue jsut one thread that covers all in one

Yes he is trying to help you don't see a comment section in xda so this is a plus even though it's about cons of a phone...

True, but it also is becoming clutter. People aren't going to stop posting in the threads already started to say the same things here, so it's just adding to the pile.

thanks for giving this a shot, but there is already a forum dedicated entirely to complaints; its called Engadget.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to create redundant threads either. Maybe it makes them feel cool that they're the op? What not just add relevant discussion to threads that are already ongoing? And even after they get all this info together, they are the same people that ask really dumb questions in development threads lol...Complain on the HTC website.

My complaint is this, take the phone back to the store and grab something else. Real talk. If it doesnt suit your needs, get something different. Real simple. I'm personally not gonna keep anything that I have complaints about, especially for the money it cost. Take it back!

Im amazed at how different the communities are for various android phones.
Coming from iphones the last 3 years , i bought my first android phone (galaxy nexus) and the community was great, made me happy to make the switch.
Ive moved on to the one x and can safely say this is getting the the point of pathetic. On one hand we have people crying about the smallest of issues , then on the other, we have total hard asses constantly flooding the posts with their unnecessary comments (which is just as annoying).

I hope you aren't basing this mindset solely on what you've found in this thread, because this is hardly the prime example of what the HOX forums have to offer. In fact, I would say it's a very poor sampling. If you look around these forums you are surely going to find a bit complaining and trolling, but for the most part you are going to see that there is wonderful collaboration, praise, thanking, sharing, and comradery on a fairly remarkable level. If you dont like it, please feel free to find another device or forum that suits you better. But dont come here to flood a complaint thread with complaints about complaining, you're just perpetuating that which you allegedly find pathetic. Also keep in mind that these threads are quite new and the moderators are working hard to maintain decency and integrity herein.

Warning! Watch what you flash!!

This community is the One XL Community, no matter what AT&T calls this phone, its really a One XL, One X LTE. There are some videos on youtube for One X roms but what they fail to mention is what One X they are really for. If you want to keep your phone from becoming bricked, please Only Flash roms from this forum to avoid confusion. I would hate to see more people get stuck on a 2.20 phone or no phone at all. Remember, Always ASK! no matter how dumb the question is, just ask because no one is going to pay for your phone if you brick it. When on youtube or any other site, always check to make sure its for the One XL aka Qualcomm phone or LTE, not the One X Quad core aka Tegra, Nvidia.

I will never understand whats is with the trolls in this community. Last time i tried to warn people not to take the 2.20 OTA i got trolled as well. It seems like people tend to get upset when someone tries to warn others or help. And since you have so much info, Please provide me with the 15+ links to theses threads. Thank you

IMO, we need to have half the first page filled with various warning threads. Nobody reads anything before they flash, then they come crying to us when they f*ck up their phones. I honestly have no sympathy for these clowns. You wouldn't jump in the ocean if you don't know how to swim would ya?

I agree that if you are unsure you should ask. The only rom ive ever flashed on an adroid phone was from XDA except the old CM roms for my Evo OG. Its MUCH MUCH better to ask and have 3 people tell you to "use the search" and get an answer than brick your phone.

[Q] ATT One X+

I apologize in advance if this has been answered previously, but with the different variants of the One, I find it hard to determine if the one X+ ATT version has been successfully rooted and unlocked. I am seriously considering the phone, 64gb and quad core is nice but I currently use a jail broken iPhone for tethering and can not go without. If the above answers to root and unlock are 'no' then the next obvious question is: has anyone found a work around for the ATT HOX+ to tether without a carrier tether plan? The forum topic regarding the edit of the file requires root and appeared inconclusive for some. I also noticed in that thread that the users may have had a different variant like the One XL(?). Answers from ATT users would be most welcome. I've looked at Hansoon's root topic/thread but again the ATT variant has me spooked. Thanks again.

Google is your friend....but I'll be nice that phone can be unlocked/rooted...wouldn't it seem more understandable to post in the correct one x+ forum?

How embarraskin'! I never realized the button on my XDA forums page was set to "Top Devices" and not "All" or "Newest Devices" so I couldn't find the forum for the One X+. Frankly, my experience for searches regarding XDA has always been more successful without Google and there really isn't too much on the One X+ on google just yet. But here...a wealth of info.

No offense but there's more than enough info on google for a monkey to figure out how to root the one x+...can't tell if that comment was sarcastic or not
All google takes is...one x+ xda and you'll find everything....not that hard

HTC ONE X (At&t) Sense ROM with JB?

I know I can search around, but Ive been.
Im looking for a fully working,stable, stock sense 4 ROM of the htc One X but has already been updated to JellyBean, like the international version.
Is there any ROM like this out now?
Also, whats the best, easiest to follow guide to root this device?
Someone save me the hassle of searching through the forums with only a click on a touchpad to navigate with (broken+ no mouse atm).

You know whats more annoying?Those REPEATED replies you get on threads talking about how its the same repeated questions again.
Let me break it to you, You aint helping with your repeated insults or whatnot.
It's not like if you say "oh this thread again" or whatnot, the thread will dissappear.
If you're so annoyed at these repeated threads which you know will periodically occur, then IGNORE IT and dont post.
I find threads all the time like that by googling, and what do you see ?Those same repeated annoying replies which arent contributing to the thread, even though the thread's been repeated.

Not really. Not trying to start a pointless internet fight here, but all you could had done was browse the first page of the Dev section and you would have had the answer you desire.
We have a port right now, but it's more or less something to flash on your phone just to see if it works for a few minutes.Then afterwards go back to the rom you just backed up.

JB and HTC Sense

Does anyone know what we are waiting for to have JB and Sense or have I missed that Rom

Really? Hmmm....yep there was tons of sense 4+ roms here and they just disappeared....no if you simply searched Google or read a little bit for like two mins maybe less you'd realize only the intl one x has jb with sense and we don't have any leaks yet.......

Someone is porting sense 4.5 from the droid DNA tho. But it's very unstable at the moment

I have read and realize that only the One X and not the One XL has a JB with sense. What i am asking is what are waiting for (ex a leak, a port). I see you have answered that, but could have just answered with out the the silliness.

I'm sorry if I came off a little rude but like Elvis said only so many threads on the sane topic can a sane man take until he gets to become a curmudgeon on that basis...and also.as stated its just kind of a preview Rom but newtoroot did port. Senses 4.5 jb Rom but.only a couple things working but porting a diff Rom is not.easy especially without the kernel modules

And sometimes it's hard for others who's not so familiar with the subject and there's A lot to look in /read.
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to just ask and if anyone knows and is willing to answer, then let them.leave all your negative comment and complaining to yourself which isn't helping anyone and leaving others to look through more stuff before finding an actual answer.

I find the Search function at xda works quite well. I use it all the time and usually find what I'm looking for.
Yeah, there is a lot to read, but that's what we do here: We read and research before asking questions that have been answered 100 times already.
There's a good reason why the forum rules ask people to search first: Starting a new thread when there are already others on the same subject just makes it harder for the next guy to find what he needs to know. So by not doing that, they're exacerbating the very problem you're complaining about here.

There should be some type of monitoring to tell if some one searched first, before posting then ban them for not searching.

See xda has this feature when you try to make a post it takes you title and compares it to similar posts to try and prevent double posting. People just need to pay attention to that
