[Q] Buttonless On/Off Software - Asus Transformer TF700

Thanks in advance for any advice. I'm still troubleshooting the issue to see if it is another program causing freezing after putting the TF700 to sleep for a while. I installed Awesome On/Off to extend the external power button life (it is somewhat cheap feeling) and while it seems to work, the tablet becomes unresponsive once the tablet goes to sleep for a long time. I have to do a hard reboot (i.e. hold the power button for several seconds to reboot). I'm not sure if it is Awesome On/Off causing the problem and will find out shortly if the tablet doesn't wake again after uninstall. Anyways, I like the functionality of the program and am looking for advice on good alternatives that will let you put the tablet to sleep (or at least turn off the screen) without the power button, and will let you turn it back on (tilting like Awesome...or another method like tapping or something).

This app crashes all the time when it turns on the screen. I've looked for something simular but so far I didn't find a good replacement for it. Now I only use screen off for getting it into sleep. Hopefully somebody has a good solution/replacement for this.

FYI - I've read that System Tuner was causing this issue for some as well... Any chance that you have System Tuner installed? Or are you sure it's the on/off app that is causing your problem?

The only way that I know to find out if it is the System Tuner app is to try removing the app and see if the problem persists.

I use Awesome On/Off too. For the most part, it works. But the app itself will sometime crash and I'll have to restart it and enable it when it does. Still worth it to me to lessen the use of the power button. I haven't tested to see if it drains the battery more using it.

Yooooo
GMD gesture control, allows you to create a gesture to trigger APM, its pretty slick. The gestres u can set are simple, my power menu is triggered when I two finger swipe from the top left corner, you can set up literally any gesture imageinable.
Best of luck
Edit - GM Gesture Control also allows you to hide the status bar so that apps can take up the entire screen, which is awesome for increasing screen real estate for apps, especially in landscape mode, as the aspect ratio is so wide, watching movies and pdfs is much better with more screen
I swear I have no affiliation with this app whatsoever, it has just really made my day lol

The feature I needed more was the ability to turn on the tablet without the button. If GMD gesture control can do that, I'll check it out.

The app icon itself acts as a widget to toggle the filter on/off.
If you set the brightness too low and can't see anything, press the volume buttons to revert back. (Works for settings screen only)
*This app can blackout the screen if you get to 0%, useful for people who like to "listen" to Youtube videos at night with AMOLED screens.
Changelog:
Oct. 27
- You can now use the volume buttons for precise adjustment.
- When set to 0%, turning the screen off will automatically pause Screen Filter.
Oct. 25
- Fixed bottom of screen getting cut off on smaller screen phones.
Oct. 23
- Fixed brightness reset bug.
- Code optimizations, app now starts faster.
Oct. 22 - [New Option] Allow going below 20% brightness. (Now disabled by default)
Oct. 21 - [New Feature] If you set the brightness too low, you can now use the volume buttons to revert back.
Oct. 20 - Added Traditional Chinese translations.
Oct. 19 - Initial Release.
Works well except for the part when I set it to to minimum brightness. Perhaps, a little warning pop up would be nice

Great! Hope that the pause bug is fixed, i mean sometimes even if i don't tap the pause button the brightness just go up and then after 5-10sec. the brightness goes down again(the value that i set from the app).

Yup I noticed that happen too.
Turns out I didn't use a service with a high enough priority, so android system was killing the service whenever it felt like it needed more RAM....
I upped the priority in the update, and I haven't encountered any brightness spikes :fingers-crossed:, but I'm guessing it could happen if system was VERY low on RAM

What are the advantages over the original ScreenFilter by haxor industry?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor
Does it suffer from the same "issue" of being unable to press Install while installing an APK? It's a google feature not to be able to hijack the button with an overlay, but it's a bit annoying nonetheless to get blinded when installing apps at night.

I created this app because I wanted the notification controls that the original screen filter didn't have. You can can try the app yourself to see if you find any advantages. It's completely free, even without ads.
Yes, all filter apps suffer the APK install problem. However, the notification controls work pretty well here. Pause it, press install, then resume.

Because i drive the car very seldom, i want to shutdown the tab.
The Option runs only one time. By the next run, the tab going to standby. Can you look, what is the problem.

Great but you can't select a delay above 60sec.
Why is the selector looping to 0 sec when you scroll down. It would be better to go to 1 ..2 .. 3 .. 4 min
I have been using your Autosleeper app for a while in my Table Car Installation, and it is excellent
The App would really benefit from an option to enable Airplane Mode when sleeping. This would increase the battery savings and stop the device using WiFi when parked at home, plus 3G when parked elsewhere.
I would happily pay for a Pro Version with this feature.
Thanks,
Pete
product development
Is this product still being actively developed?
Is there any way to remove the "closing" screen? I can only set it to one second. I don't need all the fancy close buttons and timers.
app question
Hey, I have a LG G 7.0, The Auto Sleeper app does not allow me to choose " Action: Power off", keeps saying the device is not rooted. I used KingRoot to root the device and check with "root Checker Basic" if the device was rooted right. Is that option not available yet?
Have android 4.4 in my rearview mirror gps and this didn't work work. Sometimes work ok (rarely) and others don't work. But was a good effort by the developer. There other app similar that work ok? thanks

Playstore Link Is Down - Fiew Questions
Hi, Looking for an app for a car environment, but have a fiew questions i would like to ask
1) If i am playing music before i remove the power (will the app pause the music/media & resume/continue on wake)
2) When the app sends the device to sleep does it put Turn On flight mode so (wifi,B-tooth& data is switched off)
3) Can you change & adjust the "Sleep Timer" so it sleeps almost instantly once power is removed?
4) Not really a question but the link to the playstore has been removed ?
But Sounds A Great App & Great Concept
Its great app I used before but now its not available, anyone please help how to download it?

That works... thanks, now... I use smartlock with my lollipop and smartwatch, can you make it so it only turns off the screen and just waits for the screen to lock on it's own? The reason I ask is if I use the button on the dock, it locks the phone similar to tapping the padlock on the home screen so I have to pin in even with the smart phone connected.
I was so excited when I saw this app. my N5 is rooted but is still stock 5.01 this wake up with volume key was one of the features that I really miss from custom roms. I been using it for about 2 days now and my battery life has been just okay so this morning I took a look at my battery stats and saw that this app was at 10% use over night. that was more then google services or my display combined. maybe its my set up or something but the battery uses was too high for me so I just uninstalled. I really hope this app is working better for others tho. sorry, but I wish I’ve taken a screenshot.

Yes, on initial install my battery consumption went up about 12 % on Lollipop typically in the morning after changing I have 96 to 97% this morning it was 84%. There were some optimizations in this last version so I will test again.
Noticed in CPU spy the phone is staying awake @ 300 Mhz for 12 hours, this is likely the reason for the drain

here's a method too remove red developer options red banner in notification area ?

Hi guys just got my vivo nex today and loving it, I found a method a few months ago on my vivo V9 to remove the red ugly banner in the status bar which allows you to keep developer options still running with no issues , so now we can change our animation speeds and what not..
Step one..
Switch on developer options.
Step two..
Navigate to more settings then applications then all.
Step three..
Scroll down to vivo service and select it .
Step four..
Press storage then Clear storage inside vivo service .
The red notification should be gone now and if you go back into developer options it will still be enabled.
The only thing is if you switch your phone off you will have to repeat the process, (my phone never sleeps ? ,
but hey it works, sorry if this is known by the masses but I've had a few people ask so I thought I'd put it up, stay free :silly:

Yea, this worked for me. Thanks for the trick.
thanks this is a very good find... This is better way then having a 3rd party app like autonotification installed. I do not reboot my device that often either so I am willing to live with this...
With apps like tasker etc I am sure you can do this automatically if you use it ?
For me its irritating but not a big problem. But this is still retarded to this from Vivo... The funny thing is... the logo say... the phone will have more stutter but when I change the animation speed to 0.5x the whole device feels twice as fast so its just stupid..
Tested working fine, Thanks

Auto notification app is your friend.
No matter how many time restart your phone you'll never see red status bar indicator(i'm using it almost 7 months and do its job excellent)
Keep in mind you have to allow all permission to app(auto start- run background etc)and white list from battery optimization.

However, each time I launch iMusic, there is still notification prompting to enable the online music service.
I have tried adding iMusic to the list of apps for blocking by AutoNotifcation, however I still get the notification. Anything I missed?
I've completely uninstalled stock music app day one as its garbage compared to Power Amp or Player Pro so I can't tell what's going on

No you won't need doing this but in order not give every time restart phone notification permission you just need to activate app to startup menu.

Huawei's P30 Optimiser/Optimizer App Removal

Hey Guys,
I am finding the Optimiser app to be stopping notifications from coming up on some apps, such as pushbullet, messaging to some extent, and so on until i open the app.
It seems the huawei battery optimisation is pretty aggressive. I went through a discovery process years ago with battery optimiser apps that from what I understood, basically boiled down to them being unnecessary for most devices at that version of android.
My question is, can I remove the huawei optimiser app using ADB, is it safe to do so? I don't want to individually have to tell the optimiser app to not optimise each app as I download them. I just want to remove the optimiser and be done with it, but i also still want to know batterybusage of apps etc if they get out of control and android isnt natively dealing with them properly then id like to remove them.
Thoughts on this, anyone?
Thanks very much,
Good question, it's also seem to be very resources hungry. I had to keep mine because I need to for maintaining my existing call block lists.

You can't have both, you can kill power genie and have all apps run as they were intended, OR you can have per app battery use stats, killing power genie will break that function
https://dontkillmyapp.com/huawei
Personally it's a small price to pay to fix everything else and makes no difference to battery life

You still had issues with notifications not coming through even when battery optimization and adjusting Launch settings manually was configured?

Yea, WhatsApp point blank refused to give me any notifications at all unless I opened the app, tried absolutely everything related to the battery/launch etc settings, nothing worked, it's because power genie has a white list of apps that are allowed to run in the background and you cannot edit that list
Thankfully killing PG was nice and easy and ended my months of annoyance of missing messages

I adb uninstalled Optimiser App, it took a good few things with it also including ability to block black listed numbers that I had have stored and also the battery menu I think in settings also disappeared completely.
You can see what the Optimiser app is running system app wise , under developer option then running services. It's the 2nd Android system with mutiple processes running. I turned off virus checker but it still seems to be running as you can see.

Was only Power Genie you were supposed to uninstall, I lost per app battery stats but nothing else, but since upgrading to 10 I haven't had to kill it yet, WhatsApp is running as it should this time

Ah right with you now, only sounds like blocked numbers might be a pain to lose really, not had any issues with the optimizer app though
Noticed any improvements since killing it ?

No, I didn't have it uninstalled long enough to verify. I needed my block call list.
