[AdFree] adblocker broken? Read this! - Android General

Install the one below (yes, it's a different one). Before that, uninstall you 'old error' version.
Should work - and yes there may be other 'better' ad blockers, but AdFree does fine for me

Thanks for the link! I've been trying to get AdFree to work all day. Do you know what the problem is?

Sorry for the stupid question where do you go to set the homepage to Google

this looks amazing. you just brought me right back to Dolphin Browser. thanks!
You can't set home pages in Dolphin Mini, it already has a google spped dial tab on the home screen...
Will you be theming the updated version?

Sent from my Galaxy Tab 7in.
I will be working on it.... Don't know when it will be complete, but I will post it as soon as its done......
Will you be doing the Dolphin HD Version too? I hope so
I am going to give HD a try later but I have tried it before and any change to it breaks the app and it can only be loaded to /system... so that means only rooted users can use it.....
@ecsnead69
Would you mind posting it? Rooted users would love it. Thx

Hope the update will come soon; I'm really interested in that one.
And one thing, perhaps you should write the version number in first post and not "latest", because that must be wrong one day
Everytime I try to install it just says app not installed. Stock rooted 2.3.4. Any ideas?

Do you have a previous version installed? You will need to uninstall that version first.... other than that, there is no reason it shouldn't work...
That did it. Thanks a lot it looks great

Any word on black theme for latest update?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It will be a little while, I am out of town now and I looked at the changelog and the only thing they really did was change the icon.... so I am not going to be in a big hurry when the update really does nothing.... but it will get done...

If you have only used google. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336 this will probably work for other versions.

I had the same problem and downloading the apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336 worked for me. Make sure you're using version 11.1.115.20.
Will this work on a samsung Ace?

Tried everything to get Hulu working... At loss.

I've tried everything to get Hulu to work. I tried the hacked app that's floating around here. I tried to unroot and use the official app. Nothing.
Hacked app just sits at buffering. I don't have any ad blockers installed and hosts file is default. I uprooted and the official app gives me the usual error we get on rooted phones.
I'm using a stock ROM with bloatware removed.
Has anyone gotten Hulu to work? How? Help...

Does it not show in market for you? I got it from there and it works fine

It does, but it doesn't work on a rooted device. Hacked version that's supposed to work doesn't work either.

Question for the jedi jelly rom

I am a little confused with the two downloads on the post. I am using jedi jelly 2 at the moment, it runs great, but I saw that there was an update on it. Jedi jelly 3 rotation Fix (ull3) flash bar. Is what I downloaded. But no matter what I do with it, I get a boot loop.
Tried flashing it as a fresh install.
Tried flashing it over jedi jelly 2
Am I doing something wrong?
I looked for other questions like mine on the jedi jelly thread, but none of it answered my question. Is it a separate rom or an update for the older one?

yup, the flash bar was turned on by default. i only had a few problems with it, but that was my fault, i didnt follow the install instructions 100% i think it was only that i didn't fix permissions like it said to, but after fixing them it fixed all of the problems i had.
as far as i could tell, language and input was not working.(works now after i fixed the permissions, like the forum said)
it also force rebooted at about 30%, then powered on with 14%

Any good adblock for JB?

I used adaway ad blocking with ics but after upgrading to jb it doesn't work anymore and resets after each boot.
Can someone suggest a good app to block ads?
It's a known problem, if you are on the stock ROM. Any others will have the same issue although there is Adblock if you want a new one.
To get rid of the problem use a custom kernel or flash the mod that prevents read-only access in system, when the device has booted.

Ok thanks.. Whats a good kernel to use with the stock tmo jb that I just updated my rooted s-on one s with?
Or is there a link to the script....
