I want to buy a TV from Samsung (40 "), Smart TV with DLNA and working well with Galaxy Notes without delay and that does not have 3D.
What model advise me? And it has a good value for money.
Thanks!!!
Merry Christmas to all.
All of the current built in wifi tv's work well with Allshare play (DLNA), none of the current crop of wifi direct (WIDI) tv's work with allshare cast (screen mirroring) so you would have to buy the allshare cast Dongle as well which has a bit of latency nut works fairly well otherside (apparently).

From what I understand, I need that television has AllShare technology, with WiFi Dongle Included, so you can communicate with the outside world, in this case with the Galaxy Notes 10.1.
Thanks!!!

all new samsung smart tv's have this tech and all can connect to internet via wifi or rj45. When buying a new TV all you need to look for is the "smart" logo and you will be fine.

I'm looking for something that will give me a TV Out function.
I travel a lot and I had thought about a netbook that I could hook up to a hotel TV but I already carry a rubbish work laptop so I don't really need to be lugging a netbook too.
Thats got me to thinking about phones with TV-Out.
Ideally I'd like something that I can playback movies, browse the web and maybe play some games (SNES, Genesis emus) via a hotel TV, it doesn't have to be HDMI in fact I'd probably rather have composite so I can connect it to the antiquated TV's the hotels I stay in seem to have!
Any suggestions?
here is a partial list:

I have seen confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy S can dump out component thru its 3.5mm headphone jack.
I think that would suit you perfectly.
Why don't you consider using an adaptor of some kind for your laptop since it almost certainly has a video out interface?
But if I had to choose a phone for TV-out, I'd probably pick the Galaxy S as well since I saw it's HDMI out demoed and it was quite nice.
Rhodium has TV out and works well
Hey guys,
I was wondering why these manufacturers are not putting infrared in the mobile phones (Like they were a few years back), as i think if they do the phones can easily be used as remote controls for electronics tht doesnt have anything like bluetooth/wifi.
Ex: My STB and my old samsung LCD TV etc etc..
Currently sum manufacturers are adding small infrared device tht one needs to attach to their phone to act as remote like below.
for me the phones are already expensive and don't really need another radio chip in it. Plus for me I use my remote via WiFi. Both googletv, revue and Tivo have apps so I can control my tv's with no issues. If I could get an app so I can do my xbox too I'd be really happy. For now I just yell at my xbox with my kinect.
Apparently you can just wire an ir led directly onto a headphone Jack and plug it into your phone then you just record the input from the remote and play it back to the TV. Afaik there is no app for this purpose though.

One of the samsung devices at IFA had infrared and they were showing up the smart tv remote on it
Who needs a TV when you got netflix.
probably just a space issue..
Probably it's not necesery today...
This would be great i would buy something like this but it would make the already expensive phones more costly.
What really should happen is TV manufacturers need to move away from IR completely, and just move to bluetooth(Like the ps3 bluray remote). Then you'd just need an app since every phone already has bluetooth.
What item do I need in order to get the 7.0 plus to work for HDMI on my tv?
You will need a Samsung EPL-3PHPBEGXAR Galaxy Tab HDTV Adapter
Search amazon.com or they may have it at BestBuy. About 35.00
About $34 on Amazon. Their not cheap.
You can get the dock for the original tab. I had to shave the sides down a bit with a dremel but either than that it fits and works perfect. Only$15 now.

The cheaper HDMI adapter works also. It is a genuine Samsung HDMI dongle. The only difference is the price. A couple great streaming apks are World Streaming TV News Edition. This will give you CNN just as it is broadcast on cable or Dish network and Crackle that has great free movies and TV shows. Make sure to check the box in WSTV that says Default browser in preferences otherwise you'll get a blank screen and audio. I've cancelled my dish network service as I get all the stations I used to pay for free now through the Tablet. That's 55.00 a month in real savings for me.
Haha thanks guys was just wondering this

It does media or anything in the Chrome browser or Netflix of Youtube, doesn't mirror the screen and you'd have too much lag for games. I don;t do games, so for me its a big hit. I can take it to any room with a TV and even on the road.
All Google Cast devices at a minimum support the following media types:
Video codecs: H.264 High Profile Level 4.1, 4.2 and 5, VP8
Audio decoding: HE-AAC, LC-AAC, CELT/OPUS, MP3
Containers: MP4/CENC, WebM, MPEG-DASH, SmoothStreaming
Level 1 DRM support: Widevine, Playready
btw how much is a chromecast? is there a region lock in using that device? I'm from Philippines btw.
you can try DLNA. This is convenient and cheap.
I have searched but not found much. I am looking for a decent or better solution to be able to use my Galaxy S3 as a universal remote control to control my TV, AV receiver and other devices similar to a logitech harmony remote. I know about the harmony link software but it gets a ton of negative reviews and I am leery of paying for the add on device needed to use the app that may be more problematic. Is there any decent solution for this other than risking the harmony link software, or would the only real other option be to upgrade to the Galaxy S4?

You can't do this directly from the S3 because it does not have a IR or RF port. If your equipment will allow something to connect through Wifi or bluetooth then you can. I connect to my Directv receivers through my home network.
OR
You could spend a little more and buy a bluetooth device that will act as a IR emmiter between your phone and the devices. Check out the link below.

Hey. So I was at a friend's house and ended up using the miracast function on his TV. Honestly, it kicks MHL's behind thanks to ease of use as I didn't have to be close to the TV...
Now I am not willing to upgrade my TV just yet (mostly for monetary limits) so I am thinking of getting a miracast adapter. I was thinking of the Microsoft Wiresless Display Adapter as reviews tend to be quite positive. The downside is I know miracast doesn't always work flawlessly so I was hoping for your opinions/experiences.
Have any of you used your One M9 with a miracast adapter? Which one? How well did/does it work? Have any of you done it with Microsoft's in particular?
Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.

I use a cheap ebay miracast that cost me $14 USD. I use it on my Appradio 3 and Appradio Unchained Reloaded.
Only problem I have had is when the device tries to connect to a different wifi network while connected to the miracast device. It either disconnects or becomes very laggy.
The firmware is crap. Flashed beta firmware and now works flawlessly.
Here's the one I'm currently using. http://goo.gl/knb4Ui

I'm using a Roku stick, but the M9 will probably work with their other models. I like Miracast much more than DNA, because it's screen mirroring from phone to tv, not just streaming media.
