I'm trying to find a person experienced with the careful rooting of sensation 4g phones. I would like to discuss the possibility of having my phone rooted using remote PC access (like goto my PC, I have these tools). I'd insist on compensation the right person for their time spent with a successful result,
Please drop me a message so we can discuss.
Thanks

Hi,
Look HERE
Thanks for the post. It looks like this link is for those that are willing to root their phone themselves. I'm hoping to rely on someone else's hands remotely and just use my hands for the steps that can't be done remotely

U can ask here what steps you don't understand and we will help you, I think you better do it by yourself so you can understand the process and make less mistakes afterwards... plus in any case you would like to revert it you would know what to do...

if youre going to rely on someone else to root your phone, just know that you will also have to rely on that same person/someone else if your phone ever starts to have problems or acts funny. its best to do the job yourself and take your time to READ EVERYTHING. it all may seem like useless information at first, but in the end itll save your butt. and you wont have to rely on someone else or start pointing fingers if something bad happens, only yourself
Quite a funny thread.
I think you're best of getting an iphone.

For the record don't assume this request comes from laziness. My success in life has been in part because I put no ego into knowing what I do well and what I do not and knowing where that line is. Also knowing when I should fix something in my home and when, for me, looking for a contractor would lead to a better result.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
sounds like you don't need root anyway
The results I'm looking for are. To remove bloatware, move apps to the sd card that normally can't be moved, be rooted so I can use titanium to fully back up my phone.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Its not that difficult just try is scary at first but the stuff here on xda an the support you get are endless an they are rite its better you do this yourself so you know where you stand plus you will need adb setup on your computer before you even start you'll find that when you go to unlock the bootloader.I used the all in one tool box to get root an recovery look it up if it doesn't work then it just doesn't work there's very little risk in harming your device its really not that hard give it try
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
Rooting your phone is kind of like building your own computer, it's a good thing to do if you're willing to learn. Most of the process is learning how your phone works, and if you don't know how to root it, how are you going to fix it when something goes wrong. Listen to everyone's advice.
First off thanks you to all those that have taken their time so far to share their thoughts and advise. I'm getting the picture that what I'm looking for isn't how it works. I was hoping rooting could be approached like car ownership. Some owners like to fiddle under the hood, learn all the things that can be done. Others just are users, they only want to learn what is needed to operate the car as designed. The third type are those that are willing to open the hood but tinker with just those things that are simple, safe, and reversible. More then users, less then mechanics. I was hoping this last category was possible for my objectives in regards to rooting but it appears not from the postings so far.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Problem is that if you run into an issue a few months from now that stemmed from flashing something, chances are that person that helped may have moved on to another phone and you could be in the same boat trying to get someone to help, but it can be more severe and time urgent than it is now. I think the stickies in the general and dev forums r really good at educating and easy to follow.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2
Based on your requirements.. It seems you don't want to get your phone data lost. I'm mentioning this because the easiest process causes factory reset of the phone thus you will lose all app data and phone data. (but you want root to backup data right?)
If you don't want to lose the data but to achieve what you wanted.. The method will be kinda hard.. That is SOFF without htc-Dev... Guide Link is in my signature... The hardest part of this process is wire trick.. Which can't be done remotely.. Has to be done by you only.. Rest of the setup is breeze... So if you want I can help you through initial setup but as I said the wire trick has to be done by you.. Also the process takes repetition tries which might take up hours too
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda premium
It took me literally minutes to s-off my sensation and to install a custom rom. OP just read the stickies and you'll be fine. Just remember when doing the wire trick;
Put wire in and say quickly "one two"
Quickly remove wire and quickly put it back in and quickly say "two two hundred" and you'll be s-off in seconds

Support for the tb? I'm a new tb owner coming from the incredible. I'd rather root it that way than adb. Plus i have a mac. Adb is too labor intensive for me. Last time I tried rooting with adb was with my Eris and that was a headache.

It's not going to happen. The rooting and S-OFF method is too complex and REQUIRES user intervention. No software is going to do that.

That's just ignorant and/or elitist. So someone not already familiar or comfortable with setting up/using ADB shouldn't be able to benefit from rooting? My father doesn't know anything about how Linux or Android work, should I have told him to just deal with the bloatware, etc.? Don't be such an ass.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I dont think he meant that to be mean but its true if you don't have the slightest understanding of what your doing to your phone when you root it you are setting yourself up to mess something up. I'm way new to this and I spent hours and hours over two weeks reading everything I could find so I knew what was going on. And when I went through the process I was comfortable and when I couldn't get the custom firmware to flash I had the knowledge to figure out my silly mistake without freaking out or messing up my phone. But bottom line if you aren't willing to educate yourself enough to be comfortable with the things you said then no you shouldn't be rooting your phone.

In short, folks who root yet don't understand rudimentary things like adb are the same ones who are 100% reliant on others to fix their device when they break it.
Or, they perpetrate a fraud and dump it on Verizon.

Well Well now who's the little blood sucker's now? I posted a few questions about two days ago and was bashed buy a bunch of little 13yr old and even seniors member's on here. I was sat back and got a huge kick out of it. Anyways as always I work alone away from most of the FREAKS on here. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!
Anyways after many hours working trying to get temp root on the new Gingerbread 2.3.3 OTA Update! I was successful in creating a working Temp Root!
This was done with the help of a very good friend that wishes to remain anonymous. I also seen many people are giving away a reward for the person who figures a way to gain root on the device. My response to that is keep your damn money I don't want it and my friend don't either. So if you all are thinking this is a way to retain the award your WRONG you little maggot!
We don't want anyone's money let alone your's. The temp root works and is very easy to achieve! I will be posting the guide in about 35-45 mins for other's to achieve this temp root on the HTC EVO 4G!!!!
For them little pricks that sit on their asses and wait for a Root and don't even give to the xda community but will leech and whine about everything make me sick. I'm so tempting to not even post the guide and let you pitiful bastards suffer and burn in hell and be miserable while I enjoy my new Rooted Device. Then my friend said what about the ones that have spent countless hours for the love of the EVO. That's what changed my mind so what now?
It's 7:25 my time and I'm going to begin this simple guide for those who deserve this root. It should only take me 30-45 mins to explain how to gain Temp Root on your HTC EVO 4g with the New OTA Gingerbread Update with S-On........
Congrats if you got it. Look forward to reading everyone's BS in the new thread!
I still have my launch day evo so it wont really help me at the moment.
I hope you just edit this thread to the instructions or put on your flame suit again.

Hmm, this is a long 35-45 minutes. Being superman and flying around the world and stuff must have thrown off my sense of time....
I'd like to see this guide. And preferably with a less vulgar attitude.
I've tried a bit of searching and while there are a few threads about how to disable phone features, there is no discussion of anyone making a specific ROM that would that would focus the Captivate (or any Galaxy S I suppose) into a Media Player device. No idea how hard that would be and whether it would be as easy as taking an existing ROM and just rearranging and deleting the phone stuff.
Seems that with ICS being designed to work as both a Tablet and Phone OS, you could accomplish this with relative ease. I'm not a coder or ROM developer though, so I could be completely wrong on that too.
At the very least, the battery life would almost certainly increase if the phone never even tried to use the antenna or look for cell service. Seems like it might run smoother too and processing emphasis could be rearranged.
Any thoughts?
Here ya go... Captivate Touch

not ALL of us local guys are incompetent....
I have considered rooting phones / tablets in my shop but i don't think the benefits outweigh the risk.
I can see it now, i root a device and a month later something goes wrong, the customer tries to send it back for repairs and it's rejected because it's rooted / unlocked / whatever, and they come back screaming at me.
Meanwhile, i had them sign a waiver stating that they're voiding their warranty by rooting / unlocking / etc.
My experience has been that people only hear / read what they want and nothing else.
My viewpoint is you should never root someone else's device...the minute something goes wrong they'll come back to you asking you to fix it...even if it was their fault.

+1. I have 2 friends who wanted me to root and do other mods on their phones after they saw me do it with my LG Revo. While I will read and read and read to make sure I minimize my chances of effing up my stuff and feel pretty confident when I make any changes, I have no desire to do it with their stuff. Simply for the fact that both used their phones daily and wouldn't be too happy with a paperweight.
Rooting some tablets are a lot easier than rooting certain phones, I rooted both mine. You can do it! It's scary at first I know but later you will be happy! I wish you the best !

Well, before rooting is always good to check that the device has no hardware issues. Try doing a factory reset and see what happens. Try pulling the sdcard and see how it behaves for a day.
If is still misbehaving, then take it to warranty....rooting will not fix hardware issues. Then, when u are sure that no hardware issues are the cause of the problems, come and visit us in the IRC channel in my signature...the Hack Kit is still there....

Also if I'm allowed to put my two cents in here... but charge to 100% and as it dies check the percentage if it reboots write down the percent. Do it until it dies fully charge it and repeat. If the numbers match up its the battery I had bought this phone used. It rebooted at 96% and 42%. Got a new battery and no more random reboots
