Htc One X with no os - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

greetings,
i have a problem hope that you can help me fix it, yesterday i tried to install custom rom cm10 in the process of doing so i didn't backup my previous kernal and now am stuck with fastboot window with no os installed and i can go to recovery, my cid 11111111 i tried kindle utility app but it didn't work..
please help if you can.
thanks in advanced

If you can get to recovery just flags the ROM you want. Make sure to factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik. If your hboot is 1.14 you'll also need to get the boot.IMG file from the root of the ROM zip and do fast boot flash boot boot.img.

Can you put the phone in fastboot mode? Download http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/evita/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.0-evita.img, put it in your fastboot directory, and do fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.0-evita.img. Then, you can reboot and go into recovery to flash a custom ROM.

To flash this do we have to be in any earlier version?
Bcoz i tried flashing but its stuck in boot animation.
I DId al wiping(data,cache,dalvik) ..
Did fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot.
But still the problem remains..
Any suggestions
Thanks
If you do a full wipe before flashing it's not relevant which ROM or version you are coming from. Maybe you have wrong hboot.
Is your device s-off?

no mine in still S-ON thru htcdev but rooted, using cm7.1..wanna try best ROM based on sense UI...hence wanted to flash...now i have observed one thing whichever the ROM i flash it its not happening...it stays in boot animation..earlier i tried CM7.1,MIUI WP7 ...My hboot version is 2.00.002
Unlocking thru htcdev allows to flash a ROM with stock kernel only. For freeful flash-rom-manipulating S-Off is needed. Try flashing any ROM with non-stock kernel led me only to the screen with HTC logo.

With HTCDev unlock you have to flash the kernel separately.
Which means:
1) open WhateverROMyouHaveDownloaded.zip
2) extract the boot.img that you will find inside
3) flash the ROM as usual (with full wipe)
4) Do not restart your phone yet, because you will be stuck in a HTC logo screen (bootloop)
5) from the recovery power menu reboot to bootloader
6) connect the phone to PC
7) flash the boot.img with the fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot {path to the file on your computer}\boot.img
8) reboot and enjoy your new ROM
P.S. this is a nasty limitation of HTCDev unlock, to avoid downgrade to a previous version (there are two guides in the Index), S-OFF with Revolutionary, flash Eng bootloader 0.98.2000 or 2.00.2002 and flash custom ROMs in one step
do u want me to put on "Team viewer after flashing a non-stock rom" ?i can do that man...
amidabuddha.....
I have done all the things what u said but with a difference.....Extracted ROM.zip put on the root of the SD card and and did fastboot flash boot boot.img...
If i extract the BOOT.IMG on the computer and den flash will it make any difference???
i have flashed boot.img seperately like u said it worked..
Thanks man

One S stuck on boot JellyBam

I flashed Jellybam by going through their instructions, just going through twrp clearing my data and then flashing the rom.
I am now stuck on the boot logo and can't connect it to the computer as it won't recognize it what can I do at this stage. I followed all the directions, it was rooted. Should i let the battery drain out or what?
Any help would be appreciated.
Did you flash boot.img after flashing rom?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Did not, I guess that was the problem...from the rom download page did not state I had to do that. How would I flash the boot.img?

Open ROM on your PC.. Extract it to where you have fastboot installed.. Reboot your phone to bootloader and select fastboot then connect to pc your phone should now say.... fastboot usb.....Open terminal either in that directory or navigate to it and type
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
After its done
Fastboot wipe cache..... Then go back to recovery and wipe both caches it should boot after that..

Rom questions

I used the hasoons2000 tool kit. I unlocked bootloader an flashed recovery twrp. What are the steps to flash cyanogen?
Noob question.. -_- don't I need to "root" then flash a rom or will flashing the rom root my phone. I had done this before just for the purpose of controlling my cpu. Soo I didn't really care for roms I just followed a tutorial. I'm inclined enough to get it done so any help would be extremely appreciated.

Ok so I need to know you're hboot boot into bootloader and that info will be on top...and that's a good question you ask why don't you have root acess yet? Well with newer HTC's we have to unlock bootloader than flash a recovery than flash a Rom or root in your case a Rom which gives you root to .... But what's your hboot? 1.14 or 1.09
1.14 thank you for tryin dude
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Ok so for hboot 1.14 you have to fastboot flash the boot img of the Rom before or after you flash doesn't matter...so do that go wipe in recovery and than go flash the Rom and gapps
So the boot icon from the cm10mod dl I put in my phone so where, boot in recovery an install it. Using twrp
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Nonono! So you see the boot.img from the cm download in the zip take that place it in your adb fastboot folder on your computer wherever you may have...put your phone in fastboot ..open a command prompt from your fastboot folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.I'mg
Does the img an fast boot need to be in there own folder? So do that an then throw the whole zipped rom file on the phone an install through recovery?

Moving on from what isaid download the file in the link which I posted.... Put the boot image in that folder... Boot your phone into bootloader scroll down and select fastboot and now open a command prompt with in the fastbootbadb folder on your comp and type to command I told you to...now go wipe in recovery and install the Rom it doesn't matter if you keep the boot img in the Rom zip or not

The fastboot is something accessed by going into your bootloader (by holding power+vol down). Then connect your phone to your PC and flash boot.img by typing in: "fastboot flash boot boot.img" in command prompt. The boot.img can be found in every .zip file of a rom

As kittens mentioned, boot.img needs to be in the same folder as fastboot.exe. I'd recommend making a folder for these files, somewhere easy to navigate to. You will have to open a command prompt window, then change directory to the folder containing boot.img and fastboot.exe.
tried it, when i turn it on it has the first screen an says devo mode **** an the the screen goes black. plz help i want it normal im done with this

fastboot flash boot boot.img
and see how it goes...

umm could you explain a step by step method how i did this, kinda forget how to do this, i've "s-off"-ed , and unlocked my phone about one year ago
Assuming you have a working adb setup installed on your pc (if not follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152148)
1. connect your phone to pc
2. extract the boot.img of your roms .zip file and place it in your platform-tools folder (or where fastboot is located on your system)
3. type "fastboot reboot-bootloader" (on your phone it should read "fastboot usb")
4. type "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
5. when finished type "fastboot reboot"
and you are ready to go.
Remember since you are s-off, there is no need to have smartflash enabled, so disable it in your recovery...

Just follow the normal procedure
But if you have again the same message about bending to the boot partition has failed then you will have to use the boot.img of the rom again

Wanna ask something again, everytime i went into recovery to install a rom and kernel, it went to boot twice until phone went into boot animation screen. Is it normal ?
All i know is that it would only happened if i i'm on s-on, i'm s-off, and everytime i try to disable smartflash on recovery, it went enabled again

Help Needed - HTC Sensation Z715e

Firstly, I am very sorry if I have done wrong. But I couldnt just find help in other threads. I want to help a friend fix his Sensation XE Z715e. It stucks/reboots on the HTC BootScreen.
The device is Bootloader Unlocked but S-On. I read some thread and read about the RUU. I relocked the bootloader and ran the RUU. After the whole process... The RUU program said "Completed" but the device is still stuck / Reboots. Is there any other means? Please I would be glad to get early response as I am somewhere I can download any needed file now. I migth not get the chance tomorrow.
Attached is the "fastboot getvar all" details. Please help!
can you show me the detail of RUU that you've already installing..?, i mean..did you already try this RUU..?
if yes..but still stuck..
did you already tried (while your bootloader is still in unlocked state)...tried to installing a boot.img that are extracted from the last custom rom that you've using it..?
or if still stuck..did you already tried to installing a different custom recovery (ofcourse this is while your bootloader is in unlocked state too)...anyway what custom recovery do you had before..?, if before just using cwm..now just tried installing 4ext touch recovery..and after that you tried installing another custom rom...and don't forget to enable smartflash future from 4ext recovery before installing another custom rom..
if still stuck...just tried flashing a boot.img manually from fastboot.. "fastboot flash boot boot.img"

that's so weird...
i think there's something problem in emmc partition..but i don't know what's that exactly..
i think the best way to fix that..just brought your sensation to the HTC service center..or 3rd party service center that already had a riff box / jtag tools that can flashing your sensation emmc from the beginning..
Hi,
It seems that you were going along the correct lines with the RUU you were running.
My only suggestion would be to relock your bootloader and try it again.
If it still fails , then, as JJeamy suggests , an HTC center would be the next step.
