Well, today I managed to drop my brand new (<24 hour) One S approx 1m onto a brick driveway. Here is the result:

Unfortunately, the top edge is not protected in this type of case. In a gel case that covers the top edge as well, it would probably have survived unscathed.
So much for HTC's theory that this phone does not need a case!

Get some protection on that bad boy !!! I never take my phone out of my pocket unless i am stationary lol, I find the One S hard to grip without a case...

sucks. i dropped my g2x many times with and without the case and pretty much have zero damage

Could it be restored with some kind of paint? Of course it will not be perfect but could masquerade the scratches.

or just keep dropping it until the shell becomes grey then you have owned both devices

Yes had already thought of that. Black permanent marker has improved the appearance considerably.

Yeah, i did the same with my Sensation XE... CD/DVD marker will do the trick for a couple of days at a time.. But it wears off, so you have to do it 2-3 times a week if you want it to stay hidden..

Ahahah, I thought exactly the same.
My son has just throwed to the wall (2 years old baby...), and I just finished to paint with a permanent marker, ehehe.

They had one and they destroy it while I'm waiting for my device

4000mah Extended battery good price with pics

I just got mine. Even tho link says 3500 it says 4000 on bat. Back cover is a nice soft touch rubber like the stock back. It fits amazing. Idk about the life it doesn't seem all the long tho.

The cracks are forming in all four corners. April 13th-July 2nd.

this on top of rooting a phone and putting something like supercharged or Blazed will give god like battery life lol. nice link!

So far it seems that way. I managed to run it down to 50% that was using it all day.

The corners of my cracked out. It didn't effect it staying on tho. I switched back to my oem bat and otterbox tho because I dropped my phone and smashed screen out so I fixed and didn't want to happen again lol.

I think the last image is...that square thing on the left.

[Q] Opened phone and this is what I saw...

I have a white galaxy s iii. around the bottom of the phone is pinkish. Both of the water sensors are intact and don't see any discoloration. What could be causing the pink around the case of the phone. I do have a Red otterbox but I never dropped it in water. Any ideas what could cause this?

How is the back cover? Cuz that looks like the dye came off of the Otterbox but that wouldn't make sense if the cover is always on. I have a blue GSIII and the insides are black so I can't really suggest much as far as cleaning it.

my girl friend has a blue one also and we looked at hers. and obviously hers was black also. i dont think there is any dye things inside the phone. but it kinda freaked me out. the back looks fine actually. its bothering me. Im sending it back because of issues. if they see something wrong are they going to charge me full price or insurance. i havent done anything to the phone but i know how shiesty vzw can be.

Idk about that man, I haven't actually returned a phone to Verizon before so that's open to interpretation. I would imagine you would be fine but the dye on the insides could be attributed as the cause of whatever issues you have in the eyes of Verizon.

im sorry but this is hard to believe! It looks like it was dropped! The point of impact looks like the bottom left corner!

Still think its hard to believe! Why would you take the protective plastic film off, if you notice the screen is cracked? Also these phones are shipped in a decent retail packaging and then you have the actual shipping box filled with either peanuts!

AFAIK back in the day, the UPS practice was to "build" a "wall" then just throw ****(parcels) in behind it...
...so... I dunno.. BS or not, but the package should CLEARLY have shown signs of being beat all to hell and back... -> refuse delivery, or photo and claim it...

I call BS too! The way my phones where packed there was no way that they would have cracked like this. They are in a molded box inside a box wrapped by a box inside a box with airbags.

It seems to only be on my phone. Not my SO's phone. You can feel the bottom lip definitely protruding further on mine. Any of you experience this? Solutions? Warranty? Live with it?

Just clean it with the pointy end of a thin sheet of paper. This happens with every phone I've ever owned.

Happened on every phone except the iPhone for me. Just use the corner of a thin sheet of paper to get it out.

The same thing has been bothering me a lot as well. Usually if I wipe it down with a microfiber most of it goes away but there are still similar specs to the ones in your picture. I just tried using paper and it didn't work too well. I ordered a small pack of the cyber putty, I think that should work better. @rootSU do you think the small 2.6 oz bag will be enough to clean a keyboard as well?

Toothbrush / Paint brush does the trick for me each time!
